Ive said my tuppence worth on that thread. Anyone else?

Nearlyadoctor · 02/09/2018 19:29

Fab @Ella/@Laska and everyone else who’s up for it, I’ll make a note that once Christmas is out the way we’ll get a date in the diary.
Gin hope you’re feeling a bit a better? I try not to drink to the hangover stage these days as it lasts all day, not just the first couple of hours like years ago. I hate wasting a whole day but I’m useless with one. ( at least yours wasn’t entirely wasted if you managed some online shopping)

Laska5772 · 02/09/2018 19:33

I rather like that MV T shirt that they are railing at !!..

nearly I'm up for it!

Ellapaella · 02/09/2018 19:36

I've defended us on a previous thread @neveradullmoment99 and two lovely posters came back and apologised but they were not the ones that had caused any offence in the first place, they were just discussing things in general terms before a few certain others (always the same ones) made some quite nasty and I felt personal remarks. It was a shame as up until then I'd really being enjoying that thread but that really spoilt it for me (it was one of the Parisian threads).

Nearlyadoctor · 02/09/2018 19:40

Also just added my two peneth to the Mint Velvet thread.

missfliss · 02/09/2018 19:46

Looked at that thread - it's interesting that some posts concentrate on denigrating the taste of others to validate their own choices.

Meh.

I like this thread, it's supportive and helpful

ilovecherries · 02/09/2018 19:46

I’m up for a meet up. Coming from Scotland and want to do an entire day in Regent Street. Cos, Uniqlo, Arket, other Stories.

Nearlyadoctor · 02/09/2018 19:49

Good news Cherries perhaps nearer the time when we sort out a date, we could also liaise re hotel etc for those who want to stay.
Better start saving I feel this could be costly Grin

Laska5772 · 02/09/2018 20:11

Premier Inn.. Also choosing time ..weekdays are more expensive , this one Southwark nr Tate Modern on a Sunday evening in March (10th) is only £40 , goes up to £70 on the Monday and £105 on Tuesday ...

AFingerofFudge · 02/09/2018 20:18

I'd be on for a meet up, could do with a bit of a Uniqlo, John Lewis, and other stories and cos trip!

Ellapaella · 02/09/2018 20:22

@ilovecherries where did you try on that leopard print jacket that you posted a photo of in London? Was that Other stories or Me & Em?

dontcallmelen · 02/09/2018 20:23

Yy I don’t like some of the rudeness & unnecessarily harsh comments on some of the S&B threads, I really enjoy hearing about posters purchases & seeing RL pics, I must admit I’m completely the wrong shape for a lot of the hush stuff & the sizing drives me nuts, but to be fair sizing is bonkers in most places, but I enjoy the thread even though I actually buy very little from hush, posters are kind & make me laugh.
I also think it makes you realise, that most people have parts of their bodies that they don’t particularly like or some styles just don’t suit a particular shape.

Ellapaella · 02/09/2018 20:28

Agree Len - to be fair we discuss all sorts on here not just Hush. We are a nice bunch here, none of that dismissive superiority that goes on on other threads. I often see certain posters make yet another derisive comment on people's fashion choices and I raise an eyebrow and think to myself how I'd love to see their style choices in real life, truth is those posters are often to quick to put others down but rarely post anything constructive or helpful (or remotely tactful).

ilovecherries · 02/09/2018 20:28

ella, it was Other Stories. I haven’t made it to me and em yet, though that’s somewhere else I’d like to go to - I suspect I’m not tall enough though.

DavetheCat2001 · 02/09/2018 20:30

Got home to my Hush parcel.

Shamelessly influence by ella, wide green top and leopard leggings with a few different boot combo's.. love 'em!

Let's put in on the list then Cherries - Anthropologie is another store on my 'to visit' list. Are they all fairly near each other do you know? I haven't been shopping in London for at least 15 years.

Ellapaella · 02/09/2018 20:32

You look lovely Dave. Love the leggings with the boots. Are those the Hush or M & S leggings?

DavetheCat2001 · 02/09/2018 20:34

Thanks ella..those are the Hush one's.

I decided to keep the Raven top too so I'm hiding from my bank balance!

Ooh has some shit hit the fan elsewhere on S&B??

OP posts:
ilovecherries · 02/09/2018 20:36

I think Me&Em are off centre, but the rest are all just a few steps from each other’s in Regents Street.

Ellapaella · 02/09/2018 20:40

There's a thread running about Mint Velvet Dave
One poster has got very upset about Hush claiming to really really hate it, I think maybe they need to go and sit quietly and breathe into paper bag - no brand is really worth getting that het up over. Never and Nearly have been on to defend our honour, there's some quite virulent Hush bashing going on.

Huffthepuff · 02/09/2018 20:48

Ah Anthropologie on Regent Street is my favourite shop. The homewear is incredible and clothes are beautiful although £££

@Ellapaella re. my post upthread about footwear for cropped trousers, which DMs are you planning to get? I'm starting to think I need some but will let you go first to see how you style them!

Pleased that I seem to be capable of making it through today without placing another Hush order. I've got a Maison Scotch scarf on its way to me (leopard print!!) so I really have spent way beyond anything sensible this month. Time to get some bits on eBay I think.

@DavetheCat2001 those leggings look fab with the top! Like all the boot combos

DavetheCat2001 · 02/09/2018 20:50

haha..people clearly have too much time on their hands! It probably galls some people that this thread is friendly and never a bitch-fest.

I have a couple of fab pairs of boots from MV, and went through a phase of buying loads of stuff from there. I have a fab pair of black jeans that i simply love and have never found a pair anywhere else that I love as much.

I also bought a couple of jumpers that were tatty as hell after a couple of washes and looked so shabby.

It's all swings and roundabouts.

dontcallmelen · 02/09/2018 20:53

Dave that outfit looks really good on you, what size wide top did you get? On a completely random note & hopefully doesn’t sound weird the sideboard in your pics, I bought my dd one which looks practically identical she calls it Eric the Ercolcupboard.

Nearlyadoctor · 02/09/2018 20:54

@Huffthepuff - link please
Laska Sunday seems a good plan, and with plenty of notice could book the Monday off work.

Ellapaella · 02/09/2018 20:54

@Huffthepuff I'm going for the classic lace ups in black. I wanted cherry red but I think black will be more versatile.
I plan on wearing them with my new Meg Ruched Zebra skirt, my plain ruched skirts, my Hush snake print Florence skirt, skinny jeans and with my leopard print leggings and ivy top. DM's just look good with everything.
I've been coveting a pair for ages now.
Re Anthropologie my sister bought me some beautiful mugs from there as a Christmas present a few years back, they are my most prized possession. Only very special guests are allowed to have tea in one of those mugs Grin
