Ha ha Jackie! Word is, they are very put out by Kate and Meghan. Andrew has requested they both have apartments at KP. I believe Eug and Jack are going to live there.

CurlyWurlyTwirly · 08/09/2018 15:05

This website www.unofficialroyalty.com/ has loads of links to articles about Royals here & abroad.

Clionba · 08/09/2018 15:59

Thanks Curly just the thing for a rainy Saturday afternoon Smile

Cornwall73 · 08/09/2018 16:05

Well if Bea and Eug want to enjoy all the perks of Royal life and their titles they should really be pulling their weight a lot more to earn it or at least appear grateful for what they have. Or step back and lead private lives a la Zara. Can’t have it both ways.

BettyBooJustDoinTheDoo · 08/09/2018 17:11

I agree Bea and Eugenie need to pull their weight if they want the royal lifestyle, however I do think the press and the public would be far more forgiving if they looked like models rather than the pleasant but unremarkable looks that they have, it must be quite hard for them when they are compared to Kate and Meghan, no matter how rich or privileged they are, they can’t buy beauty (though it can by decent style advisers who could dress them so much better).

user1457017537 · 08/09/2018 17:22

I don’t think it’s their looks though, it’s their entitlement.

BettyBooJustDoinTheDoo · 08/09/2018 17:27

I think it’s a combination of the two.

Clionba · 08/09/2018 17:38

When we see them, they're dressed up for weddings, Ascot, Trooping the Colour, etc etc. They project a particular image, of privilege and status without the responsibility. In the Vogue interview they seemed like pleasant enough women, if somewhat naive.

user1457017537 · 08/09/2018 20:38

In that Vogue interview they came across as completely out of touch

CurlyWurlyTwirly · 08/09/2018 20:44

I think Zara is very well paid through sponsorship deals organized through her brother. I think she earns about £1million a year. But she is talented, so not just relying on royal connections; even if she is not on the civil list.

dinosaurkisses · 08/09/2018 20:50

I really like Zara and her low-fuss attitude, but I think it’s a bit unfair for her to be compared to the York sisters.

If I had an Olympic athlete for a cousin I’d get a bit eyerolly over people comparing our independent incomes when they were receiving sports sponsorship contracts and I worked in HR Grin

QueenOfTheAndals · 08/09/2018 20:56

They came across like teenagers in that Vogue interview, not two women approaching 30.

I don't think Beatrice works. Apparently she works in "Business". A few generations ago, she could have just stayed an unmarried princess and no-one would have batted an eyelid.

Jackietheduck · 08/09/2018 21:28

I’m sure Zara’s royalty status helped her in her career to be fair.

CurlyWurlyTwirly · 08/09/2018 21:45

No doubt at all that the royal links helped her get sponsorship. However she does not receive tax payer money so she's not a leech.

BettyBooJustDoinTheDoo · 08/09/2018 22:33

Also Zara has had a lot of advertising deals, Landrover, Rolex etc and that won’t be just because of her being a top class Olympian rider it will be because she is royalty as well. I can’t name any other horse rider with her achievements who would get such lucrative deals, having granny as queen has really helped her achieve top dollar in life and also having Princess Anne as a mother who was savvy enough to realise that her children not having titles could lead to commercial success.

CurlyWurlyTwirly · 09/09/2018 06:00

Sarah Ferguson on . She’s very funny!

Clionba · 09/09/2018 08:25

Eugenie's wedding will be bigger than Harry and Meghan's. They're having 850 guests, H and M had 600.

Jackietheduck · 09/09/2018 10:51

In fairness 599 if those guests were Harry’s. If M had invited her side there would have been another hundred!

Clionba · 09/09/2018 10:56

Those Suits actors, Serena Williams, Oprah etc were Meghan's. Plus the parents of those page boys etc.

MM18 · 09/09/2018 11:00

I know someone who rides competitively with Zara and is very sore about the undeserved kudos Zara receives professionally. It’s not a world for anyone but the very rich anyway, but Zara has access to the best of everything despite not being - by any stretch - a truly gifted athlete. She is also very lazy (as my friend unkindly but accurately noted, she’s the only overweight athlete in most competitions, because she won’t do gym sessions with the same graft as the others), but she performs disproportionately well because her horses are so exceptional.

She’s a very nice person though, as are Beatrice and Eugenie, and all are much better looking in the flesh than they appear in the press according to my friend.

CurlyWurlyTwirly · 09/09/2018 11:02

Where did you read that @clionba? I think Fergie knows a lot of A-listers.
Beckhams, Elton, James Blunt, usual suspects. Interesting to see if the Clooneys come again.
I suspect Meghan will wear something invisible like Navy or beige, Kate, pastel coat dress, Jane shilton hat, nude pumps.
HM mad colour; probably orange / tangerine as it’s almost autumn.
Camilla, tasteful pastel with flared skirt, statement hat in rose gold / grey / blush pink
Fergie MoB. Hard one: Will she go shrinking violet ( Navy) or statement Emerald green, red, violet, ?
Sophie, Emilia Wicksted, mid calf length flared, structured dress, top piece.
Wonde whether Beatrice will wear a toned down ivory dress or a pastel colour. Otherwise they are going to look like 2 brides.
5 weeks to go; I’m getting interested ( not quite excited!)

Clionba · 09/09/2018 11:04

I think at least Zara has an occupation, and it's challenging, even if you're privileged. You don't get into an Olympic team without graft. It is different from just appearing at social events, which is part of the problem with the York women.

CurlyWurlyTwirly · 09/09/2018 11:05

@MM18
I can well believe that about Zara.
I went to uni with someone who used to ride with Jemima (then) Goldsmith ; now Khan.
Apparently she had the best horses so it was so much easier; relatively speaking.

Clionba · 09/09/2018 11:11

Curly I'm going to duck my head down and say I read it in this morning's Mail online!! There's only seating for 800 on the Chapel, so they're fitting an extra 50 seats.
You're right about the Usual Suspects - Clooneys, Beckhams etc etc.
I love your outfit predictions!!
