Is it your own wedding MrsR?! Forgive me if I've missed something! I feel your pain btw, my new meds are making me balloon (literally) plus my hair regrowth is looking very patchy so I feel very round and ugly indeed atm, but as MrsL says I do smell amazing and luckily it's the season for bobble hats shortly Grin

I can't remember if I like KV. I think I may be thinking of Dirty which I definitely don't like. A good excuse to go to Lush Wink Still loving my rock star dupe ("Rocking Star" Grin) and have identified what I smell like - a giant Wham bar! Which is A Good Thing, IMO.

Judy earwigs? The only solution is clearly to get another (less wimpy) cat. Loved the "little hands" btw SmileMine does the same and she also likes holding my hand (by that I mean trapping my hand under her paw and keeping me there so I have to fold her ears into little parcels repeatedly with other hand before she lets me go). She has very floofy ears.

Well all this cat talk has cheered me up, and I am enjoying hearing about Autumn perfume choices. My awful neighbours lit a bonfire the other night and it did smell nice although they were probably burning wax effigies and items from crime scenes.

SOTD will be Rocking Star or Obsession, I haven't got out of bed decided yet...

Your cat sounds adorable Floofy. We have a very floofy eared spaniel who is currently curled up on a sheepskin rug in the kids gaming room. He prefers the rugs to the bean bags 😁. But his favourite way of sleeping is on the sofa - on his back with all 4 paws in the air.
The air smelt smoky here this morning. I suspect the neighbours have been lighting their log burner. So time for Aedes de Venustas - incense, rhubarb and hazelnut .

SotD AC Polémo Paradis. I know we're suppose to be running away from the citrus at this time of year but I think this is more of a cold weather citrus. Grapefruit and honey and decent longevity as well.

SOTD Byredo Gypsy Water. floofy my cat likes to hold hands too! She will also come up and rub noses with you. (Less cute is her new habit of getting up on the kitchen table when food’s being prepared on the worktops, because she thinks DP is making lunch for work, and might give her some ham or chicken.)

teta we used to have cocker spaniels when I lived at home. Such lovely dogs. I still miss my last, best, boy, who went about ten years ago now.

Had another go with Hermes Jardin Sur de Nile. Definitely not impressed with it.

OneNightTimeMenaceStrikesBack · 12/09/2018 23:11

just had a bit of a mini splurge on perfume parlour. Bought four lush-a-likes and some other niche-a-likes. will give verdicts when they arrive!

MrsLucas · 13/09/2018 00:24

Ah! Well that saves us all buying hats and wearing them in virtual solidarity with you on Saturday MrsR Grin

Smelling like a giant Wham! bar smells amazing Floof. Bit worried about those exploding nuggets of fizz though?

My cat likes to sit resting her paws on both jugular veins and then to apply pressure if attention drifts away from her. (She won't sit on laps, but shins up to drape herself around the neck or shoulders- bit like wearing a live stole. She is very friendly - so can be alarming when she does this to unsuspecting visitors).

Stellar perfume day today - White Queen has been good value for 16 hours plus. I really like the waxy quality and the fresh, wholesome incense note. The post brought mini Heaven Sent - vintage Helena Rubenstein, plus mini vintage Y parfum. Both great Smile although top notes off in the HR.

BookMeOnTheSudExpress · 13/09/2018 06:50

Oh, MrsLucas, vintage HS, how wonderful- I have one too, which I must confess to not having even opened yet! I remember it as being a total "blimeyheck this is strong stuff" (in fact, I think DM gave it to me as it gave her throbbing headaches) (whilst HR Apple Blossom she took off me and chucked away for the same reason!)

I started off yesterday in Lemon Sherbert which, quelle surprise, I didn't much like. Too too sweet and not enough citrus for me.

I ended it in vintage Dioressence. Made me feel 10ft tall and like a glamourous 1960s sexpot, despite being in my nightie catching up on Call the Midwife and re-reading Flambards Grin

dd and I smelled all the Lush perfumes again this summer. Not awful, but nothing that stands out to me. I quite liked Dirty, and of course Karma is good, but not keen on the others at all. Lush's strength lies in their skincare and bubble bath bars for me, although of course dd wants me to sell my soul each time for £5 bathbombs.

LADDM today. Long day ahead. Cold coming.

Good luck Mrs!

Talking of shops- that's reminded me, H&M perfumes! Some absolutely lovely little gems in there- dd bought a handful- the smaller sizes are £4.99.

A few citrussy/ozoney ones that JM and AC would slap in a fancy box and put £70 on.

A lovely beachy one called Sunray was my favourite, but a green one called Garden came a close second. Well worth a fiver.

MrsLucas · 13/09/2018 09:06

Yes, more a vanillary lemon meringue than lemon sherbet. Makes me think of it as a modern riff on Shalimar?

3TresTrois · 13/09/2018 12:40

Afternoon, all.

I'm very excited to announce that I have got black tights on!!! It's still sunny here, but there is a chill in the air and I am completely done with shaving and fake tanning my legs for this year, so whipped out some 100 deniers and I feel genuinely, quite pathetically happy with myself Grin. Also wearing my new ankle boots, so Autumn has officially started for me.

Perfume-wise, I've been wearing Sexiest Scent, YSL Manifesto L'Elixir and Kenzo Amour quite a bit this week. Craving sweet, cosy, gourmand flavours. I've also discovered that an Avon perfume I've had languishing in a drawer for a couple of years untested is actually rather nice. It's Premiere Luxe, and its a quite heady combo of jasmine, patchouli, sandalwood and blackcurrant. Horrified to see it compared to LVEB on Fragrantica, but I'm really enjoying it for work this week.

Must check out the H&M cheapies. Its been ages since I bought any perfume .

AdoraBell · 13/09/2018 13:21

i'm not far off done either mrsR i have a massive family so i always start in like march, take advantage of sales as they happen rather than waiting until novemeber/december!!! too much to wait til then imho

oh, i hate shopping in december, absolutely hate it and will avoid at all costs if i can. The advantage to year round xmas shopping is being able to take stock of the sales as they happen and not end up overpaying for the same thing in nov/dec when i don't have to. Obviously food/drink based gifts wait until last minute but anything that can be kept/stored gets bought as and when i find it!
