I get married in 4 months. Bought a gorgeous dress when I was still losing baby weight and Ive got as far as I can go and my ribcage just wont fit the dress.

I dont have much money left in the wedding budget for a replacement dress (the other dress has been up for sale since January and haven't had any luck selling it)/

These are the 3 I think might be ok.

Im 5ft 4, suit skater styles since having a baby as tummy not great, im a size 12/14 pear shape.

Ive always wanted a bit of lace which is part of the reason Ive chosen these.
I didnt want anything low cut or too revealing up top.

Id always fancied a pink dress (its my second wedding), so the long white one is a bit of a wildcard for me.

Please help!

2!

DextroDependant · 04/07/2018 23:02

I think 1 and 2 are lovely but was also going to suggest using the money on s seamstress for the original dress. I see others beat me to it.

Follyfoot · 05/07/2018 00:21

I dont suppose you could stretch to this one could you:

So beautiful.

Have just found a 15% off code if you do like it Grin

BeTheHokeyMan · 05/07/2018 00:25

Number 2 is gorgeous

folly that's lovely Smile

Babybearsporij · 05/07/2018 06:32

I prefer the 2nd pink one. I love the shape of the white one, but can't see it would be flattering on a pear shape. I'm a pear too and I tried on some like that while I was looking for my dress and they just didn't do anything for me.

sparklefarts · 05/07/2018 08:05

Spring I had plus size chi chi so hopefully their normal range is better for you. 🤞🤞

If you hanged your mind I have that monsoon dress brand new with tags on you can have for nowt. Is size 16 but could take it in

Hi @springmachine. Congratulations on your upcoming wedding!

Have you tried these styles already? I only mention as you've described yourself as a similar shape to me and in my hunt for a wedding guest dress, I tried quite a few Chi Chi and let's just say that I avoid them now. I found there was an excess of material around the bits I was trying to hide which made me look bigger.

I love the colour and shade - I think it will be beautiful for a wedding.

Have you considered looking at Asos, they do an amazing bridal/bridesmaid range now. Nearly everything is under £100. They do next day delivery, free and easy returns. Well worth a look.

I screenshot just a few from their range below. It may not be what you're looking for but an idea for you. These are all under £100.

I love number one. I also had a sub £100 dress for my second wedding, it was green. Felt more like a grown up princess bride in that dress than my white(ish!) wedding dress first time round!

DontCallMeCharlotte · 12/07/2018 20:51

No. 2.

I bought a Chi Chi dress and was pleasantly surprised at the quality - it even gave me a waist!

IdblowJonSnow · 12/07/2018 20:54

Number 2! Can we see them on you?

Ikeameatballs · 12/07/2018 20:59

I've tried them all on...

I've only got a photo of me in one of them, the white one.

Update next

Number 1 looked amazing on me.
It was so flattering and looked decent quality.
However, it has a low back detail and I have back fat that didn't look very good when I looked at myself in the mirror, so it went back.

Number 2 - I loved the photo and it arrived looking nothing like it.
The colour was too dark, more like a purple pink than blush and the skirt was so cheap looking. It looked like a dressing up dress.

Number 3 - I thought I'd hate it.
I put it on (standard underwear) and initially looked like a melted marshmallow thanks to rolly mum tum.
I put on a pair of Spanx and it looked a lot better. Fitted like a glove.
From the front it looked amazing.
From the size I looked 6 mo the pregnant.

Il post the photo up.

So... I'm still on the lookout

Could you get a seamstress to do 'something' to the back on number 1?

californiascreaming · 12/07/2018 21:54

oh nevermind...
Just keep ordering from companies that do free delivery and returns (or often you will be spending a high enough amount anyway)
I have just bought my wedding dress - have had deliveries from john lewis, asos and actually the dress I chose was chi chi - I had ordered lace style ones like yours and they were itchy and rubbish, but the one I picked was a satin style smooth one and very lovely - people that have seen can't believe it was as cheap as it was.
I'm a similar size and I'll see if I can find a link to a style that is very flattering for a post baby body...
They don't seem to have mine for sale anymore - but this looks the same apart from prints and colours are different - its actually flattering on the arm, makes me look like I have a waist and the fullness of the skirt hides tummy, bum and thighs...

Its a shape i thought would be unflattering but actually I feel fabulous in it and can't wait to wear it in a couple of weeks...

GoldenWombat · 12/07/2018 22:06

The first dress looks similar to Chi Chi London's styles. Have you checked them out?

I found these dresses for under £100 with a bit of lace (they're all available in other colours too):

I don't think any of these are what you're after, but just in case. And you may be able to add an underskirt to some to give the volume.
