I get married in 4 months. Bought a gorgeous dress when I was still losing baby weight and Ive got as far as I can go and my ribcage just wont fit the dress.

I dont have much money left in the wedding budget for a replacement dress (the other dress has been up for sale since January and haven't had any luck selling it)/

These are the 3 I think might be ok.

Im 5ft 4, suit skater styles since having a baby as tummy not great, im a size 12/14 pear shape.

Ive always wanted a bit of lace which is part of the reason Ive chosen these.
I didnt want anything low cut or too revealing up top.

Id always fancied a pink dress (its my second wedding), so the long white one is a bit of a wildcard for me.

Please help!

Are you wearing the tight size bra op? You said dress 1 was lovely but for the back fat- I wonder if it's a bra issue as this can happen when they don't fit.

Speak to a different seamstress too.

*right size bra!

2nd 1

I loved number 1 in the OP and if this suited you apart from back fat, i think the right underwear could sort that.
You need a long line bra/ corset / spanx which would give a smooth line and no back fat.
Or a panel and corset finish on the original dress would work. Corset back can be subtly done, and will give you a lovely shape at the front.

Either way you need good underwear.

Go to a bridal shop they will have seamstresses used to altering dresses like yours.
It's a lovely dress.

I do also love the idea of the pink as well. The pink 50's style dresses look fresh and youthful to meSmile

If you can get to Charing Cross then the lady at S&S tailors is a genius and has altered loads of things beautifully for me (don’t be put of the back street / underneath the arches look of the place - my (very fussy) friend has just taken her designer wedding dress there for alterations.

The first one for me.

I love the first pink one

Try somewhere else! Where are you? Maybe somewhere can recommend somewhere? I know my seamstress said she can deal with anything from around 5 inches down! If it was an option of a corset back and panel would that be better or worse than a chi chi dress?

Clinicallysilly · 14/07/2018 22:42

The ivory one looks more bridal so that's the one for me.

Have you tried selling your original dress through schpock, ebay, local Facebook selling pages? Just put it up for sale across several sites to maximize exposure.

Take some new photos of the dress on a tailors dummy. That usually generates more interest from potential buyers.

The second one.
The third one would only suit a slim figure .

What did you go for OP?
