MrsReynolds grey hair all the rage these days! I feel better about my early greying hair than my mum did when she started to go grey.

Miller Harris is definitely overpriced- I think they are fantastic perfumes but they’re somewhere between cologne and perfume in strength. Lots of bargains to be had on eBay. I like all the ones Fennel mentioned except fleur de sel, also like tea Tonique and lumiere Doree for summer (but not at full price).

egdehsdrawkcab · 04/05/2018 21:12

Any thoughts on the Arabie? Or the Fumee? It was the Arabie I tested but reviews saying the Fumee is fresher?

CountFosco · 04/05/2018 21:13

MrsR the blue is fab but the grey is also greay. I'm just beginning to get noticable grey but hoping I'll take after my Mum who went grey really evenly. Don't intend to dye it to cover grey.

CountFosco · 04/05/2018 21:14

great

Judydreamsofhorses · 04/05/2018 21:16

Weirdly, SOTD was TF Grey Vetiver. I bought it for DP ages ago, and he never really wears it, so...

OCSock · 04/05/2018 21:17

Loving the hair MrsR.... Vairy, vairy cool. Will it last? Or is it intended to fade out gently?

mrsreynolds · 04/05/2018 21:34

I started to go grey at 17 😣 which is when I had my first crop pixie cut

I've dyed it for decades...started with wash out ones, then semi permanent, then the permanent dye

Which was ok for a while but once you are over a % of grey it's just too hard/expensive/tedious to keep up with the roots (but I am very lazy!!) My sister still dyes gets and she has to have her roots done every 3 weeks!!

I decided to let my hair grow out when I was 44.... so 18 months ago..its suddenly trendy to have grey hair so I jumped on the bandwagon!! 😁

I love it. It's no bother to keep lookong nice as i just use purple shampoo but i missed having some colour iyswim? So....

mrsreynolds · 04/05/2018 21:37

It's permanent sock so i will either have to grow it out/have the same I think.

My perfume mojo was missing today....I may have bought an FB of MG lemon on eBay.

Oh dear...

OneNightTimeMenaceStrikesBack · 04/05/2018 21:38

I have one solitary grey hair. I turned 35 this year and it's my very first grey hair. I suspect i will eventually go grey with a streak at the front the same as my Mam did and then gradually gather more of them through the rest of my hair but i'm actually much older than my Mam was before she started going grey. Both my younger sisters have grey hair and have done for a good few years so i guess i'm lucky!

Coffeecoffeebuzzbuzzbuzz · 04/05/2018 21:42

Love the hair Smile. I haven’t coloured my hair for ages, contemplating getting a few highlights through. (I normally colour from blonde to black and back again which takes its toll.)
Am also tempted by the l’artisan fragrances on tkmax but worried they would be an expensive blind buy.

mrsreynolds · 04/05/2018 21:47

I love that grey streak look one
You're lucky it your greys come on like that :)

Dh hates it 😁

DalmatianDots · 04/05/2018 22:18

Right. I have my samples.

Parfum d'Empire Azemour - v strong citrus. Like the pith and the rind as well as the fruit. Nice, but for me there's a hint of Ajax or Vim or something in there.

Maison Francis Kurkojian Apom Femme - too sweet, too inoffensive.

Atalia Yu Son - absolutely love this. Clearly I should stop dicking about cos clearly I'm going to buy this one Grin

Bulgari The Vert - like it but a bit fizzy for me.

The Lorenzo Dante Ferro one not here yet.

MrsLucas · 05/05/2018 00:31

Evening All - 'fraid it's me again with yet another NC. I'm even a stranger to myself these days Grin. But you'll probably recognise me from my pretentious descriptions and poor grammar Grin. I think I joined half way through thread no. 1 but can't find it to check. Bunty - do post a link! I'm often in a bit of a pickle.

Reading back and wondering whether MsRinky, MissBattleaxe and Cointreauverial are still around, living under new identities?

Cheap - which L'Artisans are in your local store?

CountFosco · 05/05/2018 08:05

Just put on my SotD Mojito Chypre. I gave the sample a sniff and got citrus and mint so thought it would be good for a warm day. Sprayed it and all the top notes are present: lime, mint, strawberry and rum. I smell like a child's toothpaste. A very synthetic strawberry with lots of mint. I do not like this. Hoping it calms down soon or I'm scrubbing.

Ollivander84 · 05/05/2018 08:13

SOTD New York 55
I woke up and wanted to smell like candy floss Grin

mrsreynolds · 05/05/2018 09:02

Morning

Sotd...hmm...something light. Maybe pp valentino rock n roses

UnnecessaryFennel · 05/05/2018 09:25

SOTD is Tauer Noontide Petals. Fizzy, sparkling floral aldehyde, for people who don't like floral aldehydes. This has all my no-nos in it - jasmine, tuberose and ylang-ylang but handled in a way that makes them light and airy rather than intense and heavy. There is a strong soapiness to it which can be a bit overpowering at first, but it settles well.

It's not my favourite Tauer by any means but it's so cleverly done and will suit today really well.

PestymcPestFace · 05/05/2018 09:47

At Dragon boat race in Poole harbour. WTF. Nobody warned me. Who Knew Grin

Motoko · 05/05/2018 10:33

At Dragon boat race in Poole harbour.

Ooh, I'm heading down that way for a week, next weekend (Swanage). I'm going to have to decide which perfumes to take with me. Definitely on the list will be Roger&Gallet's Neroli Facetie, as it smells exactly like I've spent a day on the beach, a mix of warm skin, sun lotion, and sea salt.

I want to visit Compton Acres Gardens, so a floral would be appropriate for that. I'll have to go through my samples and see what fits.

Might have a trip to Corfe on the steam train. A smoky perfume would go well with that, but I don't think I've got any. Or a nostalgic perfume, like someone on the Orient Express in the 30s would have worn, but again, I don't think I've got anything that fits that brief.

We don't have anything else planned, as we just take each day as it comes, and what I feel I'm able to do, due to my health.

auberginesrus · 05/05/2018 11:03

Sounds lovely Motoko, I love Dorset. It's gorgeous up North today and I am in Lumiere Doree to celebrate the sunshine and feeling better Smile

teta · 05/05/2018 12:15

Hermes Pamplemousse Rose Concentre - for mowing the lawn. Should be wearing Trefle Pur or something like that Smile.

OneNightTimeMenaceStrikesBack · 05/05/2018 13:25

WHat's the best way to do sample sizes for other people? is there anything special i'd need to buy to do it? i've never done it before so very unsure!

MrsLucas · 05/05/2018 13:45

One - squirting directly into 2ml atomisers (lots of sellers on ebay) seems to work OK with most bottles without creating too much waste. Just need to label.

Coffeecoffeebuzzbuzzbuzz · 05/05/2018 15:17

Gorgeously sunny and warm today. Library of Fragrancd Honeysuckle this morning and then sampled Aqua Allegoria Pera Granita this afternoon- very pleasant and might be a contender for a full bottle. Hope everyone is enjoying the sunshine.

positivepineapple · 05/05/2018 18:16

Success!!!

I love Encre Noir! And at £22 for 100ml it was a bargain.

Thank you for the recommendations Smile
