Is it just me with coromandel??

It's nice, don't get me wrong. It's the only chanel I like in fact.

But...£135??

Nah.

I'd rather buy mmm by the fireplace or extra strength sexiest scent 😁

MrsLucas · 12/06/2018 18:52

I'm usually a bargain queen and have a bit of a problem with 'aspirational' brands. (Consequently I delight in 4160Ts affordability and lack of pomposity).

But...Coromandel has the properties of unicorn blood without having to kill any mythical creatures...Grin

I'm running on decants, but if I had that sort of budget, I wouldn't hesitate.

MrsLucas · 12/06/2018 18:56

Which has made me think about Green and her matching perfumes to Harry Potter characters. I do really miss people who leave this thread. Sad

mrsreynolds · 12/06/2018 19:00

I'm trying to convince Sarah McCartney to produce a game of thrones inspired scent for the last series next year 🐺❄🔥🗡🏹🛡

CheapTarnishedGlitter · 12/06/2018 19:43

Evening you lovely enablers!!

It's funny with the Exclusifs- if I totted up what I've spent on the likes of 4160s blind buys or Guerlain stupid-not-to bargains I could have had a couple of Coromandels. But there's a strange Psychology at play...

Today's been a bit pants at work. Got told something along the lines of my department will always get knocked if we get it wrong but never thanked if we get it right and we just have to be thick skinned, even when we're knocked for getting it right. Great for job satisfaction that. Have retaliated by putting wine in fridge and Shalimar in my basket. That'll show 'em...Hmm

mrsreynolds · 12/06/2018 20:29

I'd be quite happy with a bottle as a gift cheap 😁
But wouldn't buy it myself

OCSock · 12/06/2018 20:38

SoTD was Sel Marin, because it is hot, and very lovely with decent lasting and sillage.

On another note, I have regretted several FB purchases in retrospect, but never mourned over an unsatisfactory buy under 10ml.

While all citrus scents lack legs, some of the Heeley's stand up for a few hours. Better than many... just saying... with the standard disclaimer, on me!

CountFosco · 12/06/2018 20:43

Which has made me think about Green and her matching perfumes to Harry Potter characters

No, does this mean I need to read through all the old threads to find this. Or can I just shortcut to what would Remus, Snape, Luna or Hermione wear?

MrsLucas · 12/06/2018 20:44

Sounds like that would be a very interesting collaboration MrsR. I continue to be easily led, so SotE is Indoors. Like this better than Outdoors, especially its fruity, nutty, boozy qualities. But I don't get on with the high register wood notes in either of them.

CountFosco · 12/06/2018 20:46

SotD Isle of Man. Lots of grapefruit in the openning that disappears after maybe half an hour. Then a mix of seasalt and vetiver. Heaven for me. So glad I have an evil scent twin Grin

MrsLucas · 12/06/2018 20:47

Yes Count. My favourite was Mrs Weasley. We could start again though Grin.

I agree OC.

OCSock · 12/06/2018 21:00

Mrs Weasley is Magic Mummy. What's her scent? I'd venture one of the bakery SL (Don't love them myself, and never do baking, so counting me out>) Any takers?

mrsreynolds · 12/06/2018 21:07

I've never read/seen Harry potter so I can't help...

Game of thrones scent would - imo - be rose, musky, woody, leather...yum yum 😁❤

Judydreamsofhorses · 12/06/2018 21:22

SOTD is Narciso Rodriguez For Her.

Another Harry Potter refusenik here, btw.

UnnecessaryFennel · 12/06/2018 21:34

Grin count, thought you might enjoy it! Will get around to estimating the postage for MG Lemon this weekend, if you're still up for it.

Calmwhoknows · 12/06/2018 21:37

I have ordered some Habanita, thanks to the enabling on here 😨 and the splendid reviews on Fragrantica. I also put some Taylor Swift “Taylor” in the basket so as to avoid postage charges. I liked the sound of the peachy notes in Taylor - it is apparently a good dupe of Burberry Woman and I have wanted to try it for some time.

MrsL, I have never tried Liquid Cashmere Black. My creation (from a 4160 workshop) does contain chocolate and cherry (you remember well!) and also coffee and peach. I like it but it is very strong and will last me at least 20 years!

BlueKittens, you asked about the iris note in Scenthusiasm. To me there is quite a bit of iris in there, together with juniper and some bitter notes, to give a definite gin vibe. I really like it, especially as a perfume for hot weather.

Have been wearing vintage Lanvin Cardamome (1979) today (courtesy of lovely MrsLucas 😀). It is splendid stuff, like putting your nose into a bowl of very fresh, fragrant cardamom pods, together with other spices (I’m sure I can smell cloves?). Amazing for a perfume which is 40 years old.

BackByDopeDemand · 12/06/2018 23:29

In dreamy, lovely Samsara and hitting my pillow. Night peeps.

CountFosco · 13/06/2018 05:50

Fennel absolutely. I love the bitterness of it, one of the Fragantica review says it's a good perfume to wear to deliver bad news! I tend to wear it when I need to be tough at work.

mrsreynolds · 13/06/2018 06:45

I think itll be mrsgloss indoors today

It's utterly gorgeous.

Dh back from his trip and it's ds1s 15th b day

15!!!!

Have a Good day all x

UnnecessaryFennel · 13/06/2018 08:05

Mrsr it's my ds's 15th birthday next week - I agree I have no idea how that happened Grin

SOTD is Mitsouko after all the Geurlain chat. It's fabulous and will serve me well today for a lonnnggg day at work full of things I'd really rather not do. But I think I might still go for Shalimar in the sale, for the vanilla...

positivepineapple · 13/06/2018 08:43

Morning all! Hope everyone is having a good week.

Sorry I've been MIA, have had a very stressful RL drama. I won't elaborate as it's extremely outing (not that I mind any of you knowing who I am)

I haven't caught up on the whole thread but promise to do so today.

Anyway, things are better now and perfume is back on my mind. DH bought me a FB of Prada infusions Amande Grin so that has been my go to recently, love, love, LOVE it!

MrsLucas · 13/06/2018 08:44

Blue skies here; giving Eau du Sud a run out.

teta · 13/06/2018 09:37

Champs Elysses today , inspired by the Guerlain chat. This and Chamade extrait plus Nahema are my favourites. Obviously completely different to everyone else. blue do you still want more Mary Greenwell Lemon perfume. I have 5-7mls of the travel spray if you want it or if anyone else does. I also have several Miller Harris samples plus a mini of ‘What I did on my holidays’ that I can send to someone. Plus I think 10 ml decants of ‘un air de first’, ‘tea for two’ and ‘Rose Privee’ . I don’t want anything sent in return.I would far rather give them away for someone to enjoy rather than languishing in my decant pile unloved.
Ocsock Heeley perfumes are wonderful. The summery ones like Verveine, cocobello, sel Marin & st Clements are all my favourites but the longevity on me is rubbish. I really wish it wasn’t.Every summer I order a couple of sample packs and take them on holiday with me. If you ever have some decants you would like to sell please tell me.

mrsreynolds · 13/06/2018 10:42

I like nahema teta 👍rose scents have to be a bit "skanky" for me to like them 🤣

Klaxon: sexiest scent extra strength will be available in 9mls. Yay!! (Or boo if you are my bank manager)

Loving mrsglossindoors ❤

mrsreynolds · 13/06/2018 10:51

Hope you're ok pineapple

Where does the time go fennel??
A GIRL face timed him last night at 10pm!
