Welcome back one

I've done all my jobs ignores ironing pile

I've also changed my mind.... Sotd coromandel

mrsreynolds · 10/06/2018 19:21

I got dh paco rabanne ultraviolet for his b day last week.

It came out in 1999 - the year we got married 😁

Coromandel has been pleasant today

BlueKittens · 10/06/2018 19:43

In LADDM today - meh. Reckon it went in a couple of hours. I’ve never really grown to like this much (perfumista sacrilege!). But maybe it’s the hot weather. Now in Wonderland Peony (Floral Street) and this is giving me much better sillage and holding my interest even though it’s a bit of a pink minger Blush

I’ve just cooked an absolutely gorgeous Gousto meal. We signed up to shake up our cooking. Despite having lots of recipe books, we always gravitate towards the same boring dishes. Have always dismissed these boxes but actually I’ve been VERY impressed. We now have a stack of cards to use with our own ingredients. We paid £17.50 for 4 meals on the offer. If anyone wants 50% off their first two boxes PM me- they’ve given me a code for friends. I do think they’re good for busy weeks/ self catering weeks away.

BlueKittens · 10/06/2018 19:44

^ oh and just for transparency I do get a bit of credit in my account if you take up the code. I also have a 4160code no strings

BarbaraCartlandsFloofyCat · 10/06/2018 20:06

Oh god I am seriously tempted by a 9ml of Bombay Sunset or Ealing Green Mind you I also really want to get some PP Prada Iris (thanks for tip sock) and then I may as well get some PP Rive Gauche. But then I also really want the NR Rouge...honestly all I've done since I came home from hospital is eat treaty food and spend money, I really must stop Blush

Fools is it just perfume you stock up on when you come back, or other UK stuff? for some reason I can always follow your name changes, I still think of you as your old VP name! It also amuses me that although I know a few Perfumistas' real life names, I still think of you as your MN names Smile

Dope sorry if I've missed it, what do you think of the Light Blue? I've never really looked at any D & G (for some stupid snobby reasons I think Blush) until I tried The One and loved it.

SOTD is Soleil Blanc, bit ummmmf whatever really Yes it's a bit sun lotion-y and summery but compared to WIDOMH, for example, it just doesn't have it, especially at that price. I would actually rather wear my Avon Tahitian Holiday, which is a tenth of the price and lasts forever on me.

PS it's just started raining for the first time in weeks, I might look out my Yardley Jade!

mrsreynolds · 10/06/2018 20:17

Sote sexiest scent

MrsLucas · 10/06/2018 20:45

SotE is Midnight in the Palace Garden (which I think is this week's SotW?). The is like Babylon Sunset reset for the worldly. A big bountiful fruitbowl and jasmine whoosh but with oud and sandalwood baked in by the sun. Richly aromatic and sensuous. This does smell great after a hot day (even without the palace) Smile.

Judydreamsofhorses · 10/06/2018 20:55

SOTD is Heeley Menthe Fraishe or something along those lines, I can’t be arsed to check the sample.

BlueKittens · 10/06/2018 21:10

GrinJudy your post made me laugh! I’m also having a can’t be arsed day Wink

BackByDopeDemand · 10/06/2018 22:38

Floof I’m not in to citrusy or ‘fresh’ fragrances particularly and completely overlooked Light Blue because of that, but I got it cheaply online last summer when I was going to SE Asia and wanted something refreshing. I really rate it.
You may well have sniffed it before...it was everywhere 15 years ago ish. I’m sure friends or colleagues of yesteryear wore this, as it’s so familiar. I like it for the gym or just bumming around at the weekend. Very fresh lemony opening and then gets a bit soapy-clean in the dry down.

I was also very underwhelmed by Soleil Blanc, btw.

MrsL I love Midnight in the Palace Garden. Glorious.

I’m going to bed in MG Lemon...but no, Ive given this multiple whirls and I just can’t get past the Lemon washing-up liquid vibe. Sorry, fans Grin.

ForSaleChesterDraws · 10/06/2018 23:12

Hello! I bought Zara’s Wood Boards Studio in Melbourne today. It’s an interesting name! We will see how it fares when I wear it.

I’m trying to find a super fresh and clean summer scent. I like woodsy, green, citrusy smells. I don’t want anything that’s floral, ozone, vanilla or musky. I am really struggling. My favourite so far is Diptyque Philosykos, but it doesn’t last long enough.

CountFosco · 11/06/2018 06:46

Forsale have you tried Guerlain's Herba Fresca? Minty green freshness that really lasts (on me at least).

UnnecessaryFennel · 11/06/2018 07:44

Morning all! Wearing Carillon pour un Ange this morning and I swear people wear moving away from me on the train Grin. Even I find this a bit marmitey and I'd forgotten how darn powerful it is.

mrsreynolds · 11/06/2018 07:49

Lots of errands to run today...
Sotd next eau nude. I really rate this.
Not so keen on sparkle. Too floral for me.

MrsLucas · 11/06/2018 08:39

Will have a think Forsale - tricky to find long-lasting citrus. Worth keeping an eye out for Annick Goutal's Eau du Sud? Do you like the smell of rhubarb?

SotD is vintage Miss Dior.

UnnecessaryFennel · 11/06/2018 11:36

Guerlain sale on allbeauty.com. Up to 55% off. #enabler Grin

BackByDopeDemand · 11/06/2018 12:27

ForSale Have you tried Balenciaga Florabotanica?

It is down as a floral on Fragrantica, but to me it smells like the green parts of a flower - stems, leaves etc - and is subtly minty. Very, very fresh without a hint of ozonic or aquatic (also notes I struggle with).
Its one of the few perfumes I can tolerate in very hot or humid weather.

SOTD is Armani Code in a bid to try out my 'meh, hardly wear' perfumes before sticking on eBay. Its not ground breaking but I do like it. Lemon/vanilla/musk. Lasts forever. Going to keep, I think.

teta · 11/06/2018 12:30

Forsale Neroli Bianca by Guerlain - one of the Aqua Allegorias is the longest lasting citrus, with the woody twigs from the orange tree.Or another one is Beigarade Concentre by Frederick Malle.
Rhubarb also smells citrussy and fresh and Aedes de Venustas would definitely be worth a try as well.

teta · 11/06/2018 12:30

Brigarade.

teta · 11/06/2018 12:35

Fennel I love Carillon pour un Ange but once sprayed twice before having my breakfast. I could taste it in my boiled egg - yuk !

BlueKittens · 11/06/2018 14:33

SOTD Serge Lutens Iris Silver Mist

Off to google Guerlain sale

UnnecessaryFennel · 11/06/2018 15:13

Am torn between Shalimar, Mitsouko and Vol de Nuit. The VdN is only EDT strength...it is in a bee bottle though...aaaargh I don't know!

Calmwhoknows · 11/06/2018 16:52

MrsLucas, thank you so much for my little package! So exciting! I have tried a little of the Equis already on the back of my hand - just gorgeous - and will test it properly in the next couple of days.

I have been trying out the 4160Tuesdays crowdfunded perfumes. I think Sarah McCartney has surpassed herself with this collection; they are all beautifully interesting but different to each other. I’m still trying them out, but think my favourite of the four is Freeway, a floral tarmacadam which sings to me. Then there is White Queen, a non-sweet gourmand that teases with different notes and has a beautiful non-churchy green incense which goes on and on. Le Jardin de Monsieur McGregor is straight from Peter Rabbit with blackcurrant, carrots and vegetables, together with wafts of tobacco. The one which is difficult for me is Truth, Beauty, Freedom, Love. I can appreciate the quality, but it might be too well-blended, iyswim. I need to test it a lot more!

mrsreynolds · 11/06/2018 17:16

Nope.
Not looking
(Sits on hands)
Tbh helps it's guerlain.
It's a house I struggle with

OCSock · 11/06/2018 17:42

Hippie Rose today. Sprayed early and still going. Someone described this as a burly biker's rose.

I've been ignoring the most recent 4160s crowd-funded scents, but Fool's lyrical enthusiasm has made my olfactory glands twitch.
