Here we go again... A merry whirl of things of things that smell delicious (and sometimes not).

Thanks blue and MrsG - it's not a common occurrence thankfully!

So spent a productive day in the library, and have just got home to a VAST glass splash bottle of Couvent des Minimes Eau des Missions and some 4160 goodies. The EdM is fabulous, absolutely gorgeous boozy, dry, semi-sweet vanilla with a luscious tobacco note and despite being a 'cologne' apparently it also has good longevity (according to Fragrantica). I adore it already. If you are a fan of vanilla then I implore you to give it a try - it's cheap as chips too. I'm tempted to buy another 500mls just to ensure I never run out...

Also got 9mls of Centrepiece, which so far isn't quite so successful - I was expecting creamy-smooth gourmand sweetness but it's quite sharp and synthetic on me, so far. Three tissue-paper-wrapped sweeties as well, of WIDOMH, Great Randello (more vanilla and tobacco?) and Floral Psychedelia, which I'm chuffed about because I was dithering about whether to buy it at half-price anyway.

So, peace and happiness is restored. Now you must excuse me, I'm off to bathe in Eau des Missions...

Evening! Late to the party bit FlowersGinCake for Judy and Mr Judy! Such fantastic news!!

And grrr on your behalf Fennel. Worst kind of meeting Angry

Tried Black Velvet Cafe yesterday. I exist on concealer and coffee so was ready to love this. Alas, my first ever 4160s scrubber. Properly horrible and couldn't fully get rid of it either Confused. Replaced with Bronze Goddess as two fingers to the crappy weather

On half term duty today so had a trip to London to ride the tube (seriously - for DH1 this is way better than any other activity). The little lovely permitted a detour to Bloom so I picked up an FB of Brocard Fortune - I liked the sample as a cheaper easy going alternative to Eau Dr Protection ( on me the ginger is King for both). £26 for 75ml EdP! No sample as someone was already halfway out of the door as I was paying but that's probably for the best!

CheapTarnishedGlitter · 31/05/2018 19:20

DH1! Blush ooops. I meant DS1, of course...

Judydreamsofhorses · 31/05/2018 19:58

fennel if it helps, I was called to a meeting at 8.30am and told I need (along with my colleagues) to pack up my entire office, and me, and move by Monday because of building work, whuch has presumably been planned for months. At the very busiest time of the year. I didn’t cry, but did huge amounts of swearing later. Why couldn’t they wait until the summer holidays? Hope you have a better day tomorrow.

SOTD was MMM Untitled.

mrsreynolds · 31/05/2018 20:28

I'm baaccckkk....
Lovely time
Lovely place:)

I'm in my coromandel sample...its very nice. Doesn't blow me away though (first chanel I've ever liked though!)

I tried on mmm by the fireplace again today in a big dept store in Belfast. Oooh it's lovely. It really reminds me of 4160 sexiest scent!

I have MG plum and mrsglossmademedoit to look forward to soon :)

Some pics for you...if you get the chance go to northern ireland. It's beautiful!

Incense fans! [So far] affordable bottle of Sahara Noir closing in a 20 minutes.

CountFosco · 31/05/2018 23:17

SotD Herba Fresca. Love this, perfect for a muggy day. All deodorant should smell like this! Definitely buying a FB once my sample runs out.

Came home to my Bloom Subscription Pack. It's tea themed and as soon as I opened the envelope I got wafts of tea and mint. So tomorrow I'm going for either PG9.1 Komorebi or PG11 Harmatan Noir to stick to the minty theme started today.

mrsreynolds · 01/06/2018 07:07

Bit grey here but will be muggy again I think so sotd prob next sparkle.

UnnecessaryFennel · 01/06/2018 08:09

The Great Randello here today. Mmm, not convinced by this really. I like the orange and tobacco in the top notes, but after that it just turns into a fairly generic '4160 sweet-fruity'. It's not unpleasant by any means but it's not doing much for me, either.

I've got some L'air de rien in my desk drawer so might have a squirt of that instead.

I think this weekend I'll be having a sort out of samples etc so will post a swaps list Smile

mrsreynolds · 01/06/2018 11:12

Sotd next eau nude (not sparkle)

4160 mrsglossmademedoit has arrived along with creamy vanilla crumble.

Both lovely :)

MG plum. Hmm. Not sure.
Might be going to mum!

BlueKittens · 01/06/2018 11:32

Goddess of love and perfume by 4160 Tuesdays is my SOTD

I might be posting on here less, getting paranoid about online footprint and data tracking. Science fiction/dystopian futures starting to feel more possible ...need to be more careful. Such a shame that it ruins our fun here though!

mrsreynolds · 01/06/2018 12:19

Im at the dentist:(
In coromandel
2 fillings :(

MrsLucas · 01/06/2018 12:30

Blue - I have a generalised sense of anxiety about this. How worried do you think we should be?

CountFosco · 01/06/2018 12:44

SotD PG9.1 Komorebi started out not as minty as Herba Fresca (admittedly a hard act to follow) and the mint and tea not entirely balanced to my mind. But settled down to a pleasant tea skin scent that has almost disappeared now. Pleasant but not as nice as I'd hoped.

BlueKittens · 01/06/2018 16:47

MrsLucas without saying too much I had a bit of a wake up call today Angry Something happened that made me realise there is a lot of data out there about us and an awful lot of it is worryingly not accurate. This could potentially affect your reputation, credit, access to employment, health care (I’m thinking in future here).

My hubby also had his identity stolen a few years ago- was incredibly upsetting and stressful at the time for us as we were house buying and I was preggers. I’ve also been immersed in GDPR and come across some terrible practices (not my employer - we were already compliant).

So I imagine I’m more paranoid than most.

But also I think I’ve been watching too much Handmaidens tales and reading up about trade wars and Brexit! Blush

BlueKittens · 01/06/2018 16:55

I have to stress I don’t distrust people on this thread ... it’s more who (or what- robots) monitoring our online activity for malicious purposes. I hate how paranoid this incident today has made me!

Coffeecoffeebuzzbuzzbuzz · 01/06/2018 17:07

Yikes bluekittens that sounds scary. Hope everything is ok. I try where possible to only post in very innocuous threads and make little reference to real life for the same reasons. I use very limited social media. I very much fudge facts although I’m still quite paranoid about it. The handmaids tale is enough to make anyone worried! SOTD Body shop Italian Fig.

lasttimeround · 01/06/2018 19:16

Mmmm i tried out Botanical from next today. Might be new? Its yum. Citrus then black tea and honey. I might treat myself to the perfume and lotion set for sleeping in...

RedPandaFluff · 01/06/2018 19:25

Hello everyone! What a lovely thread. I treated myself to Chanel Gardénia the other day at an airport - it's the most I've ever spent on perfume but I absolutely love it.

However, I'm clueless about perfumes, so am curious to know what you more knowledgeable ladies think about this one (and the other Chanel exclusifs). Rip-off or genuinely lovely fragrances?

CountFosco · 01/06/2018 19:49

SotE EA Green Tea. I love this on a warm summers day. Went to see the new house with the kids and MIL today because we have finally exchanged. Woo hoo.

OCSock · 01/06/2018 20:41

Welcome PandaFluff! (Your name works here). We have been around for ever, never cause trouble, very friendly and supportive, just freeze your credit cards, especially if you have a weakness liking for Chanel Exclusifs.

OCSock · 01/06/2018 20:45

Blue, we had a bit of a salutory reminder here on a similar theme. It was a straightforward phishing job, but enough to make one mindful that social media use needs to be conducted with awareness of risks.

ThenCameTheFools · 01/06/2018 21:21

Popping in to say I'm.hot and sweaty, welcome back Floofy and hurrah for MrJudy and welcome to newbies. I'm still avoiding you all but sorting out my clothes so saving no money whatsoever.

Sotd was Jade. So deliciously sour.

MrsLucas · 01/06/2018 21:26

Sorry to hear that Blue and OC.

MrsR, I was at the dentist today for a filling, so took a leaf out of your book and wore Coromandel too.

This certainly is the real deal RedPanda. One day I'll have saved up enough for a split, or FB, and it will jolly well be worth it. Smile Don't think I've sniffed Gardenia.

Judydreamsofhorses · 01/06/2018 22:12

SOTD was Heeley Sel Marin. Now in pjs and JM Wood Sage.
