Here we go again... A merry whirl of things of things that smell delicious (and sometimes not).

Will check out the clean smelling ones - I keep smelling it about the place. Really reminds me of washing just off the line Smile

UnnecessaryFennel · 09/05/2018 08:01

SOTD is Hermes Un Jardin Sur le Nil. Was reading the Perfect Scent book last night so it was either that or Lovely.

Should've gone for Lovely. This is seriously meh. I don't think I really get JC Ellena - that 'transparency' aspect that everyone talks about is just...boring imo. I'm clearly a philistine Grin

PestymcPestFace · 09/05/2018 08:19

Smiled Diptyque Jasmine

Tamasin · 09/05/2018 08:26

Ohh Ormonde Jayne Tsarina is one of my favourites - I just went into their new boutique and bought True Love which is similar but lighter. Can't stop wearing it - even sprayed before shower!

PestymcPestFace · 09/05/2018 08:29

I am slow this morning Confused SJP lovely smells quite like line dried laundry.

PestymcPestFace · 09/05/2018 08:36

I mean SJP lovely sheer. even more Confused

teta · 09/05/2018 08:57

Tamasin & Blue can you recommend which of the new Ormonde Jaynes are worth sampling? I’ve tested all the originals in the sample box and have a bottle of Tiare and a travel size wand of Frangipani with I love. But have been dithering over which samples to order.
I have the very pretty Aqua Allegoria Tiare Mimosa on today. Not sure about the longevity though.

LibertyBlue · 09/05/2018 10:20

SOTD Mary Greenwell Lemon

LibertyBlue · 09/05/2018 10:24

Teta my favourite OM is Vanille D’Iris. I think it’s a bit marmite looking at fragrantica- also possibly wintery. It’s on my FB list!

LibertyBlue · 09/05/2018 10:24

I mean OJ!

OCSock · 09/05/2018 11:28

Lumberjacks again, but today they are burning yesterday's brash so we have a bonfire that could be visible from the moon, and I am apologising to the neighbours for the effect on their clean laundry if anyone has been foolish enough to hang it out. So SoTD is MG Fire, and it will be Beaver tomorrow MrsLucas when they start to chop the other side.

LibertyBlue · 09/05/2018 11:39

Fire is a good choice Sock! Another fellow Mary Greenwell bedecked perfumista today- we do seem to coordinate on this thread. Might put some fire on when I get home this evening. The MG Lemon has some staying power and it’s lovely in the heat

Coffeecoffeebuzzbuzzbuzz · 09/05/2018 12:27

I enjoy MG fire but was not keen on lemon. SOTD Narciso eau se parfum. I’ve never tried any ormonde Jayne fragrances (yet...)

UnnecessaryFennel · 09/05/2018 12:40

Ha, in MG too! Plum for me as it's sitting in my desk drawer. The Hermes disappeared by 10am. I love Plum - it's so not me Grin

Am hoping my Bloom boxes arrive soon - and my 4160 crowdfunders. Hoping also that everyone else is out of the house when they do!

OneNightTimeMenaceStrikesBack · 09/05/2018 12:51

SOTD is currently L'eau De L' Artisan. very fresh, herbal and green. perfect for the mugginess we have at present.

mrsreynolds · 09/05/2018 17:53

I've just picked up my MG lemon...finally!

It's lush

Dh hates it 🤣

UnnecessaryFennel · 09/05/2018 18:48

I ended up giving away my little sample of Plum to a colleague who told me I smelled nice - gotta spread the love Smile. Lucky I have a FB lurking in the drawer at home!

I need to buy some more funnels etc for more decanting.

LibertyBlue · 09/05/2018 20:01

Mary Greenwell Lemon has been enjoyable today- amazed how it’s lasted in the heat today and still smells pretty fresh. Lovely mossy citrus

LibertyBlue · 09/05/2018 20:03

mrsreynolds my DH wasn’t keen on MG Lemon on first sniff either - ignore them, clearly they don’t know what they’re talking about Wink

mrsreynolds · 09/05/2018 20:04

What is it that MG lemon reminds me of??

UnnecessaryFennel · 09/05/2018 20:19

I need to try MG Lemon again, properly. I didn't much like it last time.

UnnecessaryFennel · 09/05/2018 20:34

Anyone ever tried CdG Sherbet Rhubarb?

I feel as if I might love it, but perhaps too similar to Rhubarb & Custard...?

OCSock · 09/05/2018 20:53

I had a sample of the CdG, Fennel, and used it all but was not moved to buy more. It's a while ago and I don't recall the details, but it was pleasant, quite fizzy, and definitely not as good as R&Citrus.

LibertyBlue · 09/05/2018 20:55

I think MG Lemon is my favourite summer Perfume. But the Fragrance Shop has sold out of all the Mary Greenwells except Plum 100ml. I only have a 7.5ml purse spray of Lemon. Bugger. Now going near to RRP on eBay Shock.

That’s a lesson for us all...grab the bargains- and stock up- while you can.

mrsreynolds · 09/05/2018 21:00

Hold out liberty
I just got one for £16 on eBay 😁
It's bugging me that I can't remember what it reminds me of..
Grr
