Here we go again... A merry whirl of things of things that smell delicious (and sometimes not).

Home now and in Prada Candy Kiss... really lovely for the heat: bursting top notes of orange blossom, with musk and vanilla

It’s clearly the weather for Rose Silence. I’ve counted five people wearing it on this page !

LibertyBlue · 08/05/2018 19:11

I ate lots of figs today- must have picked them up subconsciously because of the talk on this thread. Don’t think I actually own a Fig Perfume. Hmm need to rectify that. I like to eat them so I think I’d like the smell.

Fennel we might do bad things at times (as far as our wallets/DPs are concerned) but we’re not THAT bad Confused

UnnecessaryFennel · 08/05/2018 19:19

Liberty Grin

I love a fig perfume. I must try and get my hands on some Ninfeo Mio - it was one of the first scents I heard about on these threads and I loved the sound of it. I have Philosykos, Debaser, Black Angel and LoF Fig Leaf but I need want more. I could happily collect/wear fig 'fumes all day long.

CheapTarnishedGlitter · 08/05/2018 19:27

There's clearly a fig shaped hole in my life!!

Still hot here but in a starting to feel heavy way. Started off with London Poppy which I like as a nice light floral and one of my top FS picks but then had an hour to kill in Birmingham this morning so couldn't resist a spray or two of Vol De Nuit from the Guerlain counter in HoF. Have topped up with the PP dupe this evening. Love it.

Bit disappointed by Brum though. When did not opening until 10am become a thing? I know it makes me an old grump but still. Would have loved a mooch around the beauty bit of Selfridges and would absolutely totally have resisted the Exclusifs on the Chanel counter.

OneNightTimeMenaceStrikesBack · 08/05/2018 19:41

aubergine your parcel is on the way, i posted it this afternoon before the last post Smile

I don't think i have anything fig based either actually, i can be quite picky about anything fruit based to be honest but i shall investigate soem options, having never knowingly tried anything figgy seems a bit silly to ignore it completely, picky as i may be about fruit scents

sotd was Paul Smith Rose, nice and simple for the heat

Judydreamsofhorses · 08/05/2018 19:47

SOTD was MMM Untitled. Nicer weather today here for being back at work, obvs.

Do Shay and Blue do a fig? Fig and dandelion or something, maybe?

OCSock · 08/05/2018 19:49

Fig and Dandelion is right Judy, and having worn it yesterday, it's lovely in balmy weather.

OCSock · 08/05/2018 19:54

There hasn't been a SoTD but I got a great burst of Vetiver Tonka off my hoodie this morning when I went to walk SockDog. Lumberjacks are cutting back our hedges so we can see our glorious view again. The rain we've had in the last couple of summers have encouraged the trees to grow six feet a year and it's lovely to have more light.

MrsSchadenfreude · 08/05/2018 20:16

SOTD was Eau My Soul. Not loving it, but it may be more of a winter scent.

UnnecessaryFennel · 08/05/2018 20:30

Yes, I think Eau My Soul would be too heavy for a day like today. All that incense, booze and wood...fabulous spritzed onto a fuzzy jumper though!

ThenCameTheFools · 08/05/2018 20:43

Evening lovelies! 17 students examined, only 108 to go (Sat and Sun! Sunday!!! gah!)
Posho shop was closed!
I have been boringly beautiful in Eau d'Hadrien for days now. Branched out into Bobbi Brown Beach today.

Ninfeo Mio reminds me of Vent Vert with that sour straw smell at the beginning.

Someine asked about Field Notes From Paris- I have a sample. I know I have tried it but beyond that I remember nothing. So.it was neither a PM or achingly beautiful!

UnnecessaryFennel · 08/05/2018 20:57

Ah, thanks Fools, that was me. It doesn't sound as if Field Notes was a complete winner, then! I'm still quite tempted by the Ineke set though - I feel as if I need a perfume called Evening Edged In Gold in my life Grin.

SmiledWithTheRisingSun · 08/05/2018 21:13

I have a question for this thread..,, what's the Dyptique scent called that smells exactly of Jasmine flowers? Thanks

SmiledWithTheRisingSun · 08/05/2018 21:14

Also... what's that perfume I keep smelling on people that smells like clean washing off the line? Hmm

SmiledWithTheRisingSun · 08/05/2018 21:15

(To be clear it's not just that they have clean clothes)

MrsLucas · 08/05/2018 21:30

I thought I had too Fennel but it turns out it was Method Wild Rhubarb anti-bac spray. Smile

Someone's knocking 15ml bottles of Ninfeo Mio out for £14.95 (Top Price 24 - no idea if they are legit, but they are clearing out a lot of AG).

Am beginning to appreciate mastic Grin. It's in view in the NM dry-down and also in Habanita. There's something about the short, waxy, school glue vibe that I also recognise from Chinatown, but no mastic listed.

LibertyBlue · 08/05/2018 21:53

I have Dandelion Fig Judy! Completely forgot about it because it doesn’t really smell of Fig- it smells of tomato leaves. It’s gorgeous and green in an Eau de champagne way. Fennel I love Diptyque Philosykos, I think it was the first niche scent I ever smelt in the early 2000s (when all the smart, sophisticated ladies I knew wore it) but unfortunately I was a student and couldn’t afford it. When I started working, I fell in love with Tam Dao instead. I need Philosykos in my collection don’t I?!

Smiled is it Olene by Diptyque you’re thinking of?

LibertyBlue · 08/05/2018 21:57

Smiled philosophy Amazing Grace smells very clean to me and is quite popular but longevity not amazing. Francis Kurkdjian is the master of clean, laundry / toiletries fragrances. Aqua Universalis and all its flankers are very good but also very £££

Coffeecoffeebuzzbuzzbuzz · 08/05/2018 22:20

I also love philosykos but don’t have it in my collection. Has anyone tried the Diptyque perfume oil from their website? I prefer sprays but their oil seems much cheaper-wondering if there is much of a performance difference?

MrsLucas · 08/05/2018 22:39

Lumberjacks OC! Hope you broke out the Beaver?

LibertyBlue · 08/05/2018 22:39

Ew. Sorry for that monstrous link Blush

MrsLucas · 08/05/2018 22:41

Like the lifebuoy inspired bottle Blue.

mrsreynolds · 09/05/2018 07:12

Sotd prob PP rive gauche again

SmiledWithTheRisingSun · 09/05/2018 07:27
