SotD Hummingbird. Enjoying this much more than yesterday's chypre!

Our tkmax doesn’t have ELDO !

I almost felt like I should buy it to encourage them to stock more Grin

UnnecessaryFennel · 06/05/2018 10:19

SOTD is Friedemodin Vertine. It's baking here.

Coffeecoffeebuzzbuzzbuzz · 06/05/2018 10:55

SOTD 4160 New York 1955 for a day out in the sunshine with the family. Feels like walking in a cloud of candy floss!

CheapTarnishedGlitter · 06/05/2018 19:28

Happy no work tomorrow day Grin

SotD has been London 1969 - glorious in the sun.

Have been browsing Bloom. I mean, if I get the greens I may as well get another sample pack while I'm at it, right?

UnnecessaryFennel · 06/05/2018 20:07

Absolutely cheap, that was my thinking as well.

Am slightly worried now that my 4160 crowdfunders and my two Bloom packs are all going to arrive on the same day. Not quite sure how I will explain that one to dp, especially as we're meant to be saving Grin

Ollivander84 · 06/05/2018 20:22

SOTD more like scent of the month
ELDO eau de protection. Care work with my client who adores this so I had to wear it!

TeaAddict235 · 06/05/2018 20:46

Hello oh sweet and beautiful smelling ones , I come with a daft question, please oh spring flowers may I ask one question before i am flung into the organic bin?

Is the Tommy girl scent still okay to wear or is it too dated? It reminds me of spring and I am tempted to repurchase it

UnnecessaryFennel · 06/05/2018 21:01

TeaAddict, I've never sniffed it, but if it's good enough for Luca Turin it'll be good enough for most of us here. The Perfume Bible gives it 5 stars, so I'd say go ahead and repurchase sans shame and chicken bones Grin

Judydreamsofhorses · 06/05/2018 21:01

SOTD was Rive Gauche for a lovely lunch out, but have since had another shower and am in Chanel 19 and pjs.

tea god, I loved Tommy Girl! I don’t think I would wear it now though, to me it’s a very young scent and probably wouldn’t suit me. But if you love it, wear it. My tastes turned dusty and musty almost immediately I turned 30.

UnnecessaryFennel · 06/05/2018 21:10

I tried my as-yet-unnamed Experimental Perfume Club scent this evening, after having left it to settle for a week in the dark. The top notes are, well, odd. I put a fair bit of hedione in and so I get quite a petrol-y whiff and not much else. But, the heart and the base are actually pretty wearable. Heart is really just pure violets, base moves into amber and a little bit of sandalwood/patchouli. It's not bad at all really, although certainly not going to set any pulses racing. I wanted a lot more smoke, though.

Anyone seen the week-long 4160 workshop being advertised? Bit out of my price range at £400, but I bet it's fab. Maybe one day...

CountFosco · 06/05/2018 21:22

I may have had some wine...

Bugger bugger bugger. I love Hummingbird. I shouldn't, it's too sweet and floral for me in theory but those chypre basenotes keep it interesting. I have spent the day feeling like a grownup. I blame Bloom, they keep sending me Zoologist samples. Bastards.

MrsLucas · 06/05/2018 21:27

Think I might combust with the excitement/stress of a whole week. A weekend would be perfect Smile.

I've just re-worked something I made, when it should've been safely in my sock drawer for it's two-week wait. Really stupid.

Apart from a tiny dribble, its lost forever Sad, and it was rather lovely in a Hermes-esque sort of way Sad Sad. Lesson learnt....At least I have the recipe.

PestymcPestFace · 07/05/2018 08:36

Sad MrsL Sad Stop fiddling, you know that stuff is best left in the sock drawer for about 6 months.

Leave it to settle Fennel they really do change over the months.

Black Fleece today for a six mile hike. Lots of sun screen and lots of water. Have dug out old rucksack, Grin it is a Black's Y2K special Blush Should I be taking the fossilised jaw bone and grinding stone?

MrsSchadenfreude · 07/05/2018 08:51

Hello Peeps! I have been away for over a month, staying with a madly religious priest (for most of it) and in a lovely five star hotel (for a few days at the end). Can I just say that the duty free at Bucharest airport is full of amazing scents - they had Killian, Amouage and a raft of other expensive and niche perfumes. And appalling customer service, so I was shouted at and frightened off.

Still in bed so no SOTD yet.

LibertyBlue · 07/05/2018 09:54

Mia at wedding... wore lots of scents over the weekend....

PG Cuir de Iris - cosy for long car journey
Chanel Bois de iles - keeping it classy at wedding
Zoologist nightingale - lovely Chypre perfect for sunshine
4160 London 1969 - cologne for the heat
4160 Silk Lace and Chocolate- for bedtime

LibertyBlue · 07/05/2018 09:55

Today for bbq in the sunshine I shall wear Miller Harris Lumiere Doree

LibertyBlue · 07/05/2018 09:56

Welcome back MrsS we have missed you! Bucharest airport duty free sounds amazing. Also wondering why you spent a month with a priest!

UnnecessaryFennel · 07/05/2018 10:18

That sounds interesting MrsS (both the priest and the duty free!)

Pest you're right, I will leave well alone for a bit.

Liberty that's a lovely selection. Dying to try Bois des Iles sometime. It sounds so chic and understated.

SOTD is Terre d'Iris. I really like this but am starting to think I should have gone for something a bit fresher. What seems quite green and herbal during the winter months now feels surprisingly sweet and powdery in 25 degrees Grin. We are having a family BBQ today so once I've done the supermarket trip I may scrub for something more summery.

positivepineapple · 07/05/2018 10:20

SotD for my run is Encre Noir.

We are very lucky to have a beautiful route nearby to run, huge lake, wild gardens, rose gardens and woodland so this scent seemed apt.

I've been reading the reviews on Fragrantica and a lot of them describe this scent as dark and moody. I'm glad I didn't read them until after purchase as it may have put me off.

I think this scent is serious - but also refreshing and very intriguing. Very, very happy with this buy.

LibertyBlue · 07/05/2018 12:20

Yep SOTD is Etui Noir layered with lumiere Doree ... I think I smell continental and expensive Grin good for this heat (and so is Gin !)

TeaAddict235 · 07/05/2018 12:26

Thank you oh worthy and delightfully smelling ones!

I may buy it at Duty Free very soon.

Thank you,

Keep keeping the world smelling scrumptious Star

MrsLucas · 07/05/2018 14:16

MrsS - lovely to hear from you. You bring glamour and mystery to this thread in equal measure Grin.

positivepineapple · 07/05/2018 16:28

Now in Lumierre Doree, drinking iced coffee with book in the garden. Bliss!

Hope everyone is having a lovely (and fabulously fragrant) bank holiday.

UnnecessaryFennel · 07/05/2018 16:42

I've ended up in Lush's Sun - bright mandarin citrus, lasts about 5 mins but is very happy while it does. Have spent the afternoon eating BBQ, drinking gin and running through sprinklers Grin

MrsSchadenfreude · 07/05/2018 18:02

I love Encre Noir. I bought it for DH and kept it for myself.
