I really don’t “get” Meghan Markle’s style choices

So she wore this yesterday.
I like the jacket, bag & shoes. Dress, not keen, to me, it looks like something from H&M. Then the cross body bag & jacket on shoulders. To me, she looks untidy.
Maybe I should accept that I am officially middle aged. But this is not how I expect someone soon to be in the Royal Family to dress.
To be fair to her, she has definitely smartened up Harry. So I guess she knows what she is doing.... I just can’t see it

I am bemused by the term “pearl clutchers”.
I think we are meant to be insulted but I am because it means I am aware of all sorts of correct behaviours of which some others are totally ignorant.

OH WOW Queen Letizia is stunning. I wasn't really aware of her before and just googled. Beautiful style, good for her.

Letizia, Mary of Denmark and Rania of Jordan have great taste. And Maxima of the Netherlands is fabulous and gets away with stuff that would look ridiculous on anyone else.

I think the sleeveless dress and jacket draped over her shoulders say 'casual'. If she is not attending a casual event, it is not appropriate.
