Do I wear too much make up? **Pic attached**

I’ve had some people comment lately that I wear too much make up so I’m after honest opinions please? I’ll be reporting asking for the picture to get deleted soon but just want a few opinions first. I love wearing makeup and enjoy doing it and don’t feel it looks too much but maybe I’m not seeing it objectively. Thank you.

Your base is a little heavy and a tiny shade too dark. You look like you would have lovely skin underneath Smile

I would book a apt with one of the counters to get your foundation redone avoid the consultants that look like tall and beautiful umpa lumpas

Bluesmartiesarebest · 30/03/2018 12:08

I think your foundation is a bit too dark. Are you brave enough to post a picture without you wearing foundation and just minimal makeup?

IAmBreakmasterCylinder · 30/03/2018 12:09

I think you look fab and I bet you’d look fab without it too.

Do what makes you happy Flowers

LipstickHandbagCoffee · 30/03/2018 12:09

You’re v pretty.try different brands & shades see what you like
Try drop serum in your foundation

MeltSnow · 30/03/2018 12:09

You are very pretty but I don’t like your foundation as it’s too dark and fake looking. However, lots of people like that type of look and if you like it then that’s all that matters. I also suspect it would look better when your hair is falling naturally rather than how it is in the photo.

I also think your lipstick is too dark.

What type of light do you use when you do your makeup? A ‘natural’ light light source helps with making sure your make up is a natural colour.

waterlego6064 · 30/03/2018 12:10

I would call that ‘heavy’ make-up, yes, but I don’t generally wear make up so my perspective may be skewed.

Either way, you look lovely, and probably still look lovely with less make up, but it is your face and entirely your choice.

noeffingidea · 30/03/2018 12:10

Well, since you asked ...
Yes, you are, It looks really heavy and unnatural (though I understand make up is very popular at the moment and there's probably a lot of people that wear more than you).
Thats just my opinion. I do think you would look better with a more natural unmade up look, but it's your face of course and entirely your choice.

Ohwhatbliss · 30/03/2018 12:10

You are a very beautiful woman. Make up is meant to enhance your features but yours is detracting from them I think. Your make up looks pretty dated to me, too matt and too heavy. Why not go along to one of the counters to get an updated look to enhance your lovely features?

gearandloathing · 30/03/2018 12:10

The eyes don't work - look too dark

The lips are fine

The base is a little on the heavy side

all those posters saying 'too much for who.. wear what you like' - I think it's fine for you to ask for opinions, I think what you are asking is 'Am I wearing too much makeup to look optimal' and IMO yes, it does need toning down a bit but that's only my opinion take it or leave it as you wish.

DextroDependant · 30/03/2018 12:10

That looks like a normal amount to me and I often wear similar.

The only criticism I could offer is blending, Your eyeshadow and contour could do with a bit more blending.

loulou987 · 30/03/2018 12:11

You are so pretty hun x

I would recommend a good primer, and a little fake tan if you like a bit of colour. I really think you would benefit from a dewy looking foundation rather than matte as matte can be really ageing. I love your eye make up, you have a beautiful smile, you Have gorgeous skin. I would say that a change in foundation would make a huge difference, try Estée Lauder double wear if you like a good coverage, as it gives a nice dewy look once it's settled.

Kintan · 30/03/2018 12:12

I think I'd say no if you were going on a night out, but maybe yes if you were just popping to the shops. But if you are comfortable and happy with your make-up levels, then just ignore whoever says you are wearing too much!

onalongsabbatical · 30/03/2018 12:12

Maybe you just don't realise how beautiful you actually are? x

PasDeDeux · 30/03/2018 12:13

I really wouldnt say you are wearing too much, I wear a similar amount and don't feel overdone! Also not seeing why your brows are being slated :/ Ignore OP, you look gorgeous.

HollowTalk · 30/03/2018 12:13

You look lovely, OP, but you're taking your life into your own hands, coming onto MN to ask what people think.

Ellapaella · 30/03/2018 12:13

I think you look lovely. The person who said it's badly applied was just being rude. I wonder if they'd like to post a picture of themselves on here so we can all critique their make up skills?
Anyway op - to me you look fine. I think you could get away with wearing a much lighter foundation during the day as your skin looks very good. However I am a foundation fanatic and personally probably wear too much myself.

Sugarhunnyicedtea · 30/03/2018 12:14

I would say not too much make up, just the wrong products. The base is too dark and it's all a bit too matte and makes you look very 'done' which you don't need.

Notproudofthisone · 30/03/2018 12:14

I don’t think it’s too much but it’s quite badly done. You shouldn’t be able to see each thing you have on your face, it should blend seamlessly. The foundation looks very one dimensional and the eyeliner is the wrong colour for your skin tone and eyes.

Nsbgsyebebdnd · 30/03/2018 12:14

You would like nice either way. Whatever makes you feel good

noeffingidea · 30/03/2018 12:14

Ignore the critics. I imagine they all look like bags of spanners
Why would you imagine that? People have different opinions on what looks good, doesn't neccesarily have anything to do with their own appearance.

gamerchick · 30/03/2018 12:14

I don’t think it’s too much but it does look like you need a complete overhaul of your ‘look’. That might be why people are saying it’s too much. We get stuck in our makeup routines I think and don’t adapt as time goes on.

There are people out there who could go through colours and whatnot if you could spare an hour or so.

Ollivander84 · 30/03/2018 12:15

Agree with the getting stuck. I was wearing the same thing, and now I switch it up a bit and much prefer it. Today I don't have any base on, but concealer and a tiny bit of eye makeup. Some days I do liquid liner, some days none. Nice to have that change

loulou987 · 30/03/2018 12:16

Boots no 7 fake tan is the best for face & ive tried them all. It comes in light & dark shades. A slightly darker foundation would sit much better on your face once you've got a bit of colour from the fake tan. But this foundation is the wrong colour for your bare skin I think.

kateandme · 30/03/2018 12:16

for some it would be for some it wouldn't.is this how much you like to put on.do you put it on for choice or because you want to for someone else?told you too?please a "fit" then its not right and only then.
who says what is too much or too little.
it shoukd be how you feel good.

Sesimbra · 30/03/2018 12:17

I wear a full face of make up if I am leaving the house, so pretty much every day.

In my view, you aren't wearing too much, but the foundation is too orange which makes it a very cheap look.

The people saying you are wearing too much make up are probably just trying to find a polite way of saying your look is cheap/TOWIE.

If that is what you are aiming for, then you go for it.
