I’ve had some people comment lately that I wear too much make up so I’m after honest opinions please? I’ll be reporting asking for the picture to get deleted soon but just want a few opinions first. I love wearing makeup and enjoy doing it and don’t feel it looks too much but maybe I’m not seeing it objectively. Thank you.

I think you look lovely OP. Wouldn’t say its too much.

Tantpoke · 30/03/2018 11:41

It looks fine, not too much just the normal amount.

You just need a bit of bronzer on your neck to blend it with your foundation colour.
Who ever tells you you are wearing too much is either being unkind or if its a boyfriend genuinely thinks you are pretty enough without it or a control freak who wants to control all aspects of your life like what you wear and who you see, if the latter, run !!!

Megatron · 30/03/2018 11:41

I think you look lovely. I don't wear make up but you look great.

snewsname · 30/03/2018 11:42

Your neck is lighter so I'm presuming it is quite obvious that you have a lot of foundation on. Personally I'd go for a more natural look. You don't need an obviously made up, heavy look. You are pretty enough anyway.

LipstickHandbagCoffee · 30/03/2018 11:42

Your are v pretty Foundation is too dark, orangey hue. Is it old has it oxidised?
The contrast between neck & face is huge
You’ve not got too much on it’s the shades, they aren’t complimentary

Fake tan?my honest opinion is fake tan is aging & cheap always with unnatural hue
Imo powder is ageing and isn’t flattering
Same as Contouring is the devil work,it’s unflattering looks stripy

Go to make up counters get a free shade match, take home try few brands
I like Bobbi Brown too
Estée Lauder give free samples and you can get a shade match
Lisa Eldridge on YouTube does great tutorials as does Bobbi Brown

QuiteLikely5 · 30/03/2018 11:45

Gosh you look fine to me

Whitney Houston’s bath tub?! Seriously

Show us your make up then

DarklyDreamingDexter · 30/03/2018 11:46

Ditto to the PP who said you look very pretty but could do with a paler foundation - or none. You are young, do you even need foundation?

Joanna57 · 30/03/2018 11:47

I'd imagine from a distance it would look okish.

But close up, not good.

Have you considered going to a professional make-up artist and being shown how to apply make-up that would enhance your features, rather than drown them?

You are a naturally pretty girl and that make-up hides it all.

HRTpatch · 30/03/2018 11:47

Eyes and lips fine.
But the foundation is very ageing. Too dark and matte.

TatianaLarina · 30/03/2018 11:48

You look lovely OP. You don’t need to wear as much makeup as you are, but that’s up to you.

The only thing I would comment on is the dark shade under your cheekbones a la Kardashians, which only really works in photos and if you have quite dark skin.

LipstickHandbagCoffee · 30/03/2018 11:49

Adding drop of serum or oil to foundation will make it dewy,I like that finish

stellarfox · 30/03/2018 11:50

I think you look lovely! You should wear whatever makes you feel good about yourself. If you watch makeup people on YouTube some of them go out with loads more makeup on than you in the day!

WeAllHaveWings · 30/03/2018 11:50

I think your eyes/lips are done nicely, I personally don't like your foundation, blusher and brows. They are so heavy and fake looking that would be the first thing I'd notice about you. Maybe okay for a nightclub but OTT for during the day.

But the makeup I'm seeing on younger people just now seems to be not enhancing your naturally qualities to an over made 6" of slap to achieve a very fake perfection look which IMO might look good in a selfie picture, posed in a mirror or behind a camera but doesn't work in real life.

RoadToRivendell · 30/03/2018 11:51

Beauty! If I were you, I'd wear a bit less makeup, yes.

ilikebread · 30/03/2018 11:51

You’re really beautiful. You don’t need that makeup xx

TatianaLarina · 30/03/2018 11:51

I also agree the foundation is too dark and too heavy. Your skin is good you don’t need it. If you want to wear foundation, ditch the fake tan, get a shade that is your natural skin colour, and a much lighter consistency.

Ollivander84 · 30/03/2018 11:51

I wouldn't say so, foundation is maybe a touch dark. I wear a shit ton every day though! This is my usual level of day to day

WeAllHaveWings · 30/03/2018 11:53

Are you brave enough to show us with just your eye make, lippy and basic foundation? I bet it looks much nicer for day makeup.

MissMary0fSweden · 30/03/2018 11:53

You look like you're wearing a lot of make up yes. And as make up tends to not show up as much on camera it probably looks more in RL.

But if you like it, fuck what anyone else thinks

SofieMonde · 30/03/2018 11:54

less is definitely more u dont need much

AnnaMagnani · 30/03/2018 11:55

It's entirely up to you how much makeup you wear.

However I personally would class you as someone who wears a lot of makeup and if you feel you need to wear that amount to look OK, then that makes me feel sad.

You would look great with none.

TheImprobableGirl · 30/03/2018 11:55

I think you probably are wearing too much yes - I would leave out the matt powder or get a lighter foundation with a more dewy finish, ditch the liquid liner, and get a good pencil for tightlining. Eyebrows are a bit much for daytime, probably just need going over with a clear gel rather than powder/pencilling.

Curling your lashes would open your eyes up more than the shadow underneath and I'd recommend a white/peach liner for the inner corners/waterline to open them further.

Use bronzer to warm up your face, but you are quite pale so not a deep one, something like Hoola light might work? Also I'd go for more of a peach blush with your colouring. No7 do a nice peach

You are very naturally pretty though, I just think you should enhance the beauty rather than painting on a new face

LipstickHandbagCoffee · 30/03/2018 11:56

Most stores offer free make overs, and youre not compelled to buy
Get a make over, tell them you’re thinking new shades or brands
You’re v pretty so it’ll not be hard to enhance what you’ve already got

As an aside,I have never worn fake tan can’t comprehend it.its so obviously orange

Orangettes · 30/03/2018 11:57

You are very pretty, and if you were my dd, I'd be encouraging you to lighten up on the foundation, you have beautiful skin and your eye make up is too dark imo for day wear. I like your lip colour though.

CountFosco · 30/03/2018 11:57

I never wear makeup and so all makeup and hair dye looks fake to me so for me the fake look you are aiming for is too much. Of course someone who spends a lot of time on makeup and hairdye would probably think I look old and have 'let myself go' (I haven't, I exercise everyday and spend a fortune on shoes, clothes, perfume and jewellery). But either way I'd not tell someone they wear too much makeup.

So why are people saying it? If it's the people who love you they probably think you're lovely barefaced and are wasting your time and money creating a fake look. If it's a work colleague maybe you are in a job where a more natural look would be better. Or maybe it's a rude person you just need to ignore because it is your face and up to you if you paint it or not.
