Do I wear too much make up? **Pic attached**

I’ve had some people comment lately that I wear too much make up so I’m after honest opinions please? I’ll be reporting asking for the picture to get deleted soon but just want a few opinions first. I love wearing makeup and enjoy doing it and don’t feel it looks too much but maybe I’m not seeing it objectively. Thank you.

No I think you look lovely in the photo. Wear what you feel comfortable with.

CarlyCape · 30/03/2018 12:18

It's not awful. My constructive criticism would be:

  • blend your contour so it looks more subtle
  • less of the dark grey around you eyes (I would put this around the bottom of your eye at all unless you had a dark eyeliner on already)
  • definitely need better mascara if you're going to have a black line on your top lid
  • go for a foundation that isn't so orange

Personally think your eyebrows look ok however. I think you would suit a much brighter colour around your eyes such as gold or a light shimmer.

There's your honest opinion..

Lucked · 30/03/2018 12:18

Not sure if it is contouring or a shadow but there is an apparent brown streak below your brusher on the cheek we can see. You don’t need contouring as you have great bone structure and this can look awful in natural light.

CarlyCape · 30/03/2018 12:19

*wouldn't, not would!

NellythePink · 30/03/2018 12:19

Could you try switching to a lighter colour foundation, maybe a tinted moisturiser? I'd say that the eyes, lips, eyebrows are nice, but the foundation/powder does look quite thickly applied, and it is quite a yellow colour, and stands out as being a different tone to your neck.

You clearly enjoy wearing and applying make up (I do too), why not treat yourself to a make up lesson from a make up artist to pick up done professional tips and tricks? I've been meaning to do the same x

SandunesAndRainclouds · 30/03/2018 12:19

I totally get what you mean about wearing a mask.

Your complexion looks amazing under the foundation. I’d go less / lighter on the foundation, less eyeshadow and keep the rest. Remove the mask little by little Smile

LuluJakey1 · 30/03/2018 12:22

Yes, looks far too thick and face is very different to neck. Not natural looking at all.

loulou987 · 30/03/2018 12:23

And re the negativity re your brows ... I think they are lovely x

Big natural brows are the bomb nowadays, mine are similar to yours & im so glad I haven't over plucked mine either.

To tidy up brows threading is amazing & if you like a little more oomph on your natural brows try tinting them dark brown, or using that wunderbrow stuff, that's really good for a little more brow definition.

It's up to you though, but if you like make up & experimenting as much as I do I would try a few of the suggestions I've suggested.

( make up queen here title gained from years & years of using different make up products ) please don't be offended by anything I've suggested, you are naturally pretty Thanks

AnnaMagnani · 30/03/2018 12:24

I see what you mean about a mask. It's kind of like your comfort blanket.

In that case, I'd suggest it needs a refresh in the washing machine, or a nice new blanket.

Why not go and have a makeover specifically asking about a natural or low maintenance look?

I don't think any woman should need a mask to go out but it can be handy when your confidence is low.

Lisa Eldridge, Wayne Goss, Alex babsky, clinique all post YouTube tutorials that I found useful and love watching this stuff

Sugarpiehoneyeye · 30/03/2018 12:27

You are very pretty, but your foundation is too dark, and maybe a little heavy. Apart from that, you look great !

Coyoacan · 30/03/2018 12:27

Looks like make up for going out at night. It is too much for during the day. And I agree that you would probably look fabulous with no make up.

timshortfforthalia · 30/03/2018 12:29

I like your eyebrows too. And i think your eye makeup is great too. I have a very glam and beautiful cousin who wears this much eye makeup and im jealous of her skill applying it and how fab it makes her look.

turnipfarmers · 30/03/2018 12:29

This would be too much make up!

I don't think you have got the right shade of foundation for your skin but I wouldn't say you have got too much. It's about the same amount that I wear.

Lookforthestars · 30/03/2018 12:33

Try different B.B. creams. I'm way older and have much worse skin than you and find they give me decent coverage without looking mask like.

Or go to a make up counter. A good one. With your skin you could even apply a light B.B. cream or light foundation in problem areas and blend in to areas that are ok. It gives more natural look.

That said, I see nothing wrong with your make up, just maybe the face being a little the wrong shade.

Fuck everyone, it's your face and you look beautiful

PuppyMonkey · 30/03/2018 12:35

People have genuinely told you that they think you wear too much make up? To your face? They sound very rude as obnoxious, I trust you told them to eff off?

Fwiw the make looks fine to me, but you look like a naturally pale foundation would suit you much better than all that there fake tan malarkey.

Eyebrows look fine to me as well. Confused

boomboom1234 · 30/03/2018 12:36

I think you look lovely. If you enjoy wearing it then tell the people to get lost!! None of their business.

zenasfuck · 30/03/2018 12:37

Go to the counters and get some foundation samples, I’d recommend starting with teint idole from Lancôme and touché eclat foundation from ysl. These will give you full coverage but with a lighter, dewy finish which you need - your current foundation is far too dark and matte.

I’d leave the powder out, you look quite powdery and again very ‘flat’

Chanel do a lovely cream bronzer which I’d just use over the foundation lightly to give some colour, a sweep across the forehead, nose and cheeks

A rosy blusher on your cheeks too to add light

Bronze and copper on your eyes, well blended will suit you much better

And maybe a lighter colour for your lips - you had similar colouring to me and Mehr by Mac is my holy grail lipstick

Mooey89 · 30/03/2018 12:37

I love make up. I wear a lot of it.
I understand totally what you mean about it being a ‘mask’.

I also do others make up as a bit of a side business/hobby...

Honestly, I would tone down your foundation colour - I have a lighter one and a slightly darker one for summer/winter and you can mix them together to get the right shade for you. Add some lighter concealer under your eye area. Only put powder (and only translucent powder) under your eye area - the rest of your skin should look dewy.

I would go for a warmer toned eyeshadow instead of such a darkgrey/black shadow, and remember to blend it using a transition colour.

I love your lip colour but if you’re going to go bold with that I’d go lighter on the eyes.

You are beautiful Flowers

Orangecake123 · 30/03/2018 12:40

Do you feel it's too much? How does it make you feel?

I needed primer, highlighter, blush, mascara, eyeshadow, foundation and lisptick when I really dress up.

AlexisColbysFANCYfrock · 30/03/2018 12:40

You're gorgeous and look lovely. You probably don't need make up at all, but if you feel good wearing it, go for it. You look great whatever (although agree foundation is a touch too dark/or you need to blend it down in to your neck and chest).

MikeUniformMike · 30/03/2018 12:42

Not RTFT. In the photo your foundation is very noticeable but you have good skin. Switch to tinted moisturiser or BB cream for a lighter look. The eye make up and lips are good, and the shades suit you.
If people are telling you you are wearing too much, you probably are.
Many young women wear too much make up, when quite frankly most people look best with a light touch.

BlondeB83 · 30/03/2018 12:43

I think you would look prettier with less.

NotAgainYoda · 30/03/2018 12:45

It looks par for the course to me. It's not my taste.

You are young, and pretty. It's doll-like, and that's what seems fashionable nowadays

StormcloakNord · 30/03/2018 12:47

Are you sure you didn't mean to post this is in that gloss fb thing?
