I’ve had some people comment lately that I wear too much make up so I’m after honest opinions please? I’ll be reporting asking for the picture to get deleted soon but just want a few opinions first. I love wearing makeup and enjoy doing it and don’t feel it looks too much but maybe I’m not seeing it objectively. Thank you.

You probably wear as much makeup as I would on a night out, similar style too. Day to day I wouldn't bother making that much effort but your face hardly screams "too much" to me.

sportyfool · 30/03/2018 14:44

You look like you have loads on because it's sort of wrong . I don't want to be mean but you would probably look younger if you had less on , you don't really need it .
I would have said air hostess or make up counter lady too as it's just ott for daywear. Up to you though .

Afreshcuppateaplease · 30/03/2018 14:44

I agree seemed older once saw second photo

I would be suprised if under 28

Coconutspongexo · 30/03/2018 14:45

I’ve just seen your 2nd pic

I’d say you’re a tiny bit older than me I’m 27 so maybe 30/31?

Donotbequotingmeinbold · 30/03/2018 14:45

Haven't read the thread. I don't wear make up unless I am out for the night and then I only wear a little foundation and lip stick.
And I think you do not look like you are wearing too much make up. I think you look pretty in that picture. You probably look good without it too but I would not look at you as you are in the pic and think your make up was too much.

ggirl · 30/03/2018 14:46

I think you look about 18 !!!

Alexkate2468 · 30/03/2018 14:47

You're very pretty OP. Age 40?? Haha.. really?
Others have said it but I agree about the heavy, dark foundation. You just need something more fresh and dewy. Wish I looked like you though.

Flisspaps · 30/03/2018 14:47

I think you look lovely in both.

If I wear makeup its a full face of it with black eyeliner and red lipstick as I go for a 50s/pinup look.

TheChineseChicken · 30/03/2018 14:48

I think lose the foundation and the rest is fine

TRALALALALALALALALAAA · 30/03/2018 14:48

Grin I thought you might ask for a photo but i'd rather not derail OP's thread, and also for anonymity reasons. I am aware I look extremely young for my age 49! and this colours how i judge other peoples ages hence why i said 'early to mid forties'..but even that was way off, so i quickly apologised.

YearOfYouRemember · 30/03/2018 14:57

How old are you as I feel your make up is ageing you?

Fairylea · 30/03/2018 15:02

I am guessing about 32.

I think make up is one of those things that really divides people. Lots of people think you should keep make up super light for day time and think if you can see someone has make up on then they’ve done it wrong. Some people actually like to wear lots of make up! It’s a fashion in itself.

I am a make up lover. Every day I wear foundation, powder, eyeshadow, eyeliner, mascara, blusher and lipstick. I also do my eyebrows. I love it. I worked in cosmetics for nearly 20 years (Clinique and then Chanel) and it’s just stayed with me. Doing my make up is an essential part of my day. I am very confident in myself so it’s not about confidence but if I went out without make up on everyone would think I was ill as I never, ever go out without it.

madmomma · 30/03/2018 15:04

I think you would suit a lighter look. You don't need all that.

gooseygoosegoose · 30/03/2018 15:13

Hey op. I'm a make up artist. Yes you need to be colour matched for foundation, blush and eyeshadows. Concealer is just as important.

Try going for a more dewy foundation. Your lipsticks is way too harsh for you. Go for lighter pinks and peachy colours.

Your eyeliner is very heavy. I'm not saying for the daytime, just in general. You have quite large lids so the eyeliner just highlights that. Either make it much thinner (and lose the tick) or try just mascara. Don't forget to curl your lashes.

If you really want to wear eyeliner but less dramatic looking, get a gel liner and a thin brush. Pull your eyelid up and kind of push and wiggle the brush along the inside of your upper lid line. It will give you a lined eye that won't budge, without overdoing it.

gooseygoosegoose · 30/03/2018 15:16

Also be much more easy on the bottom lash line liner as well. It looks like you have either liner or eyeshadow along the bottom lash. It's very muddy looking.

itsbetterthanabox · 30/03/2018 15:18

No photo

gooseygoosegoose · 30/03/2018 15:18

Sorry me again.

One of the reasons why your eyeliner looks badly applied is because your eyelashes don't look like they have mascara on. That's why you really need to remember to curl your lashes and apply a good mascara. If you're not super confident with eyeliner, good lashes will hide some of that.

WeAllHaveWings · 30/03/2018 15:23

The male up makes it very difficult to work out an age, but is guess 35-37ish.

WeAllHaveWings · 30/03/2018 15:23

The makeup not male!

KJE2017 · 30/03/2018 15:29

Am I the only one who can't see the OPs photo

diddl · 30/03/2018 15:33

"Am I the only one who can't see the OPs photo"

I'm guessing that it has been deleted.

MeltSnow · 30/03/2018 15:39

32 but could be older or could be younger 😊

HeedMove · 30/03/2018 15:43

Don’t think it’s heavy at all. I can’t see first pic but in that second one it looks fine.

MadMags · 30/03/2018 16:08

I don’t think your eyebrows are OTT at all. But you really, really need to blend your eye make-up.

As I said upthread though, it’s your face so you should do what you like!!
