Do I wear too much make up? **Pic attached**

I’ve had some people comment lately that I wear too much make up so I’m after honest opinions please? I’ll be reporting asking for the picture to get deleted soon but just want a few opinions first. I love wearing makeup and enjoy doing it and don’t feel it looks too much but maybe I’m not seeing it objectively. Thank you.

Yes. I used to be a dancer and that looks like stage makeup. Try more blending, like pp's have said

bringincrazyback · 30/03/2018 13:45

You mentioned normally wearing fake tan, which I can imagine could look a little heavy-handed as you look quite fair-skinned in the pic, but no way are you wearing an excessive amount of makeup in this pic IMHO. I don't really understand the mentality when women accuse other women of 'hiding' behind makeup - creating a look can be enjoyable, and tbh if I've spent ages on my makeup, damn right I want people to be able to tell I'm wearing it. lol If you enjoy makeup (I do myself, so I totally get it) I say wear it the way you like to wear it and sod what anyone else thinks. :)

RawhideRingpiece · 30/03/2018 13:45

Well you know about the foundation but otherwise you look lovely.

I mean yeah - it’s not what you’d call a natural look but so what? It’s up to you.

Tantpoke · 30/03/2018 13:45

Travellingtulip your make up looks great in the above photo, you have chosen colours I use all the time on your eyes and lips, they suit you and your colouring.
Just match your neck to your face thats all, I use a bronzer to do that which takes seconds.

colditz · 30/03/2018 13:47

Just an aside, did you buy your foundation in the summer last year, by any chance? or were you naive and trusted the Boots counter shade detector machine? It's a very warm looking shade on you, and warmth isn't bad but is better achieved with a perfect match foundation and some bronzer

theyoniwayisnorthwards · 30/03/2018 13:48

I think you look lovely.

SleepFreeZone · 30/03/2018 13:49

All I would say it that the foundation looks a bit matte. Go for something more dewy.

TeeBee · 30/03/2018 13:49

I think you've got a face that doesn't require so much make up. It looks as though you would stunning without it; that's probably what they mean. You look a natural beauty to me.

RawhideRingpiece · 30/03/2018 13:49

Oh and what colour is the lippy please??

Somersetter · 30/03/2018 13:51

It looks way better in the second picture - maybe it was the wet hair or the lighting in the first photo, I'm not sure! I don't think you'd have got the same comments at all if you'd only posted the second picture.

stressedoutpa · 30/03/2018 13:54

You look lovely.

Foundation colour needs a rethink but other than that, no, I don't think you are wearing too much make up.

TravellingTulip · 30/03/2018 13:57

This is the lip pallet I use. The colour I've got on is second one down on the left :)

It’s all a bit matte which is super aging imo. A lot of my friends in their 20s do the same look and it makes them look 40.

TravellingTulip · 30/03/2018 13:58

Can I ask how old you'd all guess I was? Just out of interest?

Winchester13 · 30/03/2018 14:00

You look very pretty ! And I’d guess 24

Sturmundcalm · 30/03/2018 14:00

I agree with a few folk that I think it's the matte-ness of it all (foundation and lipstick in particular) that jars slightly with me - you could do with softening that slightly.

to be fair though I'm someone who has only started wearing make-up since my late 30s so maybe that slants my opinion, and i'm not exactly a fashionista. as lots of people have said you are very pretty so perhaps folk IRL who are commenting just feel that you're hiding that rather than enhancing it.

TRALALALALALALALALAAA · 30/03/2018 14:00

Early to mid forties?

wooster16 · 30/03/2018 14:01

I’d guess 25

I don’t think you’re wearing too much make up, btw. I wear just as much if not more than that, as do my colleagues and friends. You shouldn’t feel that you have to justify why you like to wear make up either! Smile

TRALALALALALALALALAAA · 30/03/2018 14:01

Sorry OP, i just saw someone said 24 upthread so i'm guessing i must be completely off. Im terrible at guessing ages.

Sturmundcalm · 30/03/2018 14:02

based on lack of lines on your forehead/under eyes I'd guess mid-twenties; based on first impression and overall look I'd guess late-thirties.

colditz · 30/03/2018 14:02

She's 26 at very most

DarkRoomDarren · 30/03/2018 14:03

I’d guess 25-29 or a young looking early thirties.

Never are you early to mid forties Hmm. If you are you look ridiculously good for it!

Sesimbra · 30/03/2018 14:04

32?

LadyTesticlee · 30/03/2018 14:06

second pic looks good and well done on losing weight. you're naturally pretty.
if guess 28-32?

BennyTheBall · 30/03/2018 14:06

OK - you want honest opinions.

I really don't like the panstick foundation. Does it need to be so thick and matte looking? Something a bit dewy would be much nicer.

Watch some Lisa Eldridge videos for tips on blending eye makeup and tightlining.

And finally, those eyebrows. They would be far nicer if they looked more natural. The completely straight line on the inside does no-one any favours.
