Do I wear too much make up? **Pic attached**

I’ve had some people comment lately that I wear too much make up so I’m after honest opinions please? I’ll be reporting asking for the picture to get deleted soon but just want a few opinions first. I love wearing makeup and enjoy doing it and don’t feel it looks too much but maybe I’m not seeing it objectively. Thank you.

@GardenGeek do you use shadow or liner under the eye? I quite like a slick of under-eye colour on other people but haven't tried it on myself.

surferjet · 30/03/2018 14:06

Your make up looks fine to me.
& I’d say you’re between 25 - 30?

LadyTesticlee · 30/03/2018 14:06

tralala Hmm

SundayShawl · 30/03/2018 14:08

As others have said it's not too much just not well applied.
Your foundation is a bit heavy, you could either use a lighter coverage one or perhaps try a damp sponge to get a more natural look.
The blush you have is a lovely colour but try not to bring it in so far and so high. Start with your brush about at height of the tip of your nose and underneath your pupil then brush out towards the edge of your face, you'll look more flushed and less red faced.
Your eyebrow arch is really good but the inside is too dense and too far in towards your eye. Start your line about level with the inside of your eye and go easy on it.
Your eyeshadow is very harsh, I'd try a medium brown for a more natural look, and I'd also bring the eyeliner further in so it goes right to the inner corner and then add a paler shade on the inside to make your eyes look brighter.

Im guessing around 30

TheBrilliantMistake · 30/03/2018 14:10

I'm male. My daughter wears what I think is too much, but I notice her peer group all wear a similar amount. I've put it down to the current trend - much like fake tanning (orange look) seemed to be all the rage a few years ago.

From the photo, I'd not say it was too much. I'd probably argue it's not necessary, but what do I know?

Cailleach1 · 30/03/2018 14:12

Since you asked... . And I'm not a pro. I think the foundation colour is wrong for you. It looks orangey. Especially on your forehead. Cream skin can be very beautiful too. You can have the coverage, just a more natural shade.

Caken · 30/03/2018 14:12

Thank you for the lip palette link 😊

Tantpoke · 30/03/2018 14:14

Can you post a photo of yourself with no make up on later?

OMGWTFLMFAO · 30/03/2018 14:15

You're a bit of a stunner OP!

The foundation is 2-3 shades too dark, and the powder is aging - I'd go for a tinted moisturiser (the garnier one is good) and some concealer, and liquid blush? Your skin looks like it's naturally lovely.

Unlike some others on here, I think your eyebrows are really nice! Your eye makeup isn't applied well, but you could definitely get away with a smoky eye if it were.

The makeup (especially the foundation) needs a few tweaks. Other than that, don't worry what we all think if you're happy - you don't look clownish or anything, still very pretty.

I'd say you were about 28?! :-)

WiggyPig · 30/03/2018 14:18

I'm terrible at guessing ages but I'd say 22 maybe?

BennyTheBall · 30/03/2018 14:19

I would say 30-35.

8SaltandVinegar · 30/03/2018 14:23

I don't like the lipstick. It's very Rimmel Coffee Shimmer from the 90's. Get to Primark and try out some different eyeshadow pallets. A pinky with a brown smoky look would be gorgeous on you. Keep the lip nude/glossy.

I'm guessing you're 32/33?

BennyTheBall · 30/03/2018 14:26

I agree re the lip colour. Too dark. I think a nude colour would look fab, especially as you wear a lot of eye makeup.

Haircutdilemma · 30/03/2018 14:26

You look similar too me and I am 32so I guess 32.

TRALALALALALALALALAAA · 30/03/2018 14:31

Lady HmmHmm

PuppyMonkey · 30/03/2018 14:32

Guessing tralalala had never met a person in their 40s.Confused

I’d say you’re 30 OP.

TRALALALALALALALALAAA · 30/03/2018 14:34

Puppy- I'm in my forties, OP looks very much like me.

Coconutspongexo · 30/03/2018 14:35

You need two foundations.
One for tan one for natural
I haven’t RTFT so sorry if you have answered this but what foundation do you use? It looks quite like a cakey dry formula

TravellingTulip · 30/03/2018 14:36

Early to mid forties? My kids have aged me way more than I thought Grin

OP posts:
Bluelady · 30/03/2018 14:38

I like it apart from the foundation which is too dark for you.

PuppyMonkey · 30/03/2018 14:39

Oh right, my bad Tralalala.

Course, we’ll need to see a photo to prove that. Grin

omBreROSE · 30/03/2018 14:40

You don’t gave the aging morally associated with early/mid 40’s.
I’d say you are 30 max.

omBreROSE · 30/03/2018 14:40

Morally? Grin
normally

extinctspecies · 30/03/2018 14:41

Yes.

You look like one of the girls in the Debenhams makeup concessions.
