Botox for '11' lines

Has anyone had this done?

Were you happy with the results, and did you have any problems with it?

How long does it last approx?

Apologies if this has been discussed many times before, but I am in a bit of a rush today. My frown lines are really getting me down (pardon the pun!), and making me look loads older than I am.

Just thinking about it at the moment, so would really appreciate any stories/thoughts good and bad!

Go for it! I have just had my second lot done and delighted with the results. I am 37 and it was adding years to me but I was incredibly apprehensive about gettin botox... I initially went for just one zone - my 11s - and was shocked at how the lines just cleared away. The results were fairly instant for me and after a few weeks I went back and got my whole forehead down, around my eyes and its cleared everything away. It lasted for ages (nearly 5 months) and even then the frown lines didn't come back as viciously as before. Just had it all done again there before christmas and I dont know how but it just makes you look.... fresher. And rested. I went by recommendation only, its minimal discomfort, still have the use of my brows (more at the outside edges than near my nose) and its more preventative than anything! Cannot recommend it enough. I work horrendous hours, am a single mum with a 4 year old who's a shit sleeper and its totally 'wakened' up my appearance.

Capricorn how long is the procedure (I'm assuming about half an hour) and what was the cost?

It does make you look and feel happier; my aesthetician reckoned that being less able to frown boosts and lift one's mood positively.

However, having not plucked up courage to do it until my 60s, I know now that the results are not going to be as impressive as they might have been had I started a bit sooner.

So does it also help you to not keep frowning as I screw my face up constantly and just cannot help myself!

I am extremely tempted. I have emailed a local clinic, who have invited me for an initial assessment. They have good online reviews, but if anyone has a recommendation for a South London clinic, I would be most grateful!

Swinging I live in NI where things can sometimes end up cheaper but £270 for the whole lot. When I just had the one area done (my 11s and generally called 'Baby Botox') it was £70. My lady chats away so I could be with her for an hour (she's a scream) but actually injecting the serum honeslty doesn't take 10 minutes. She asks me to grin, frown, relax, etc etc and makes lots of small injections. And I have a phobia of needles so if I can handle it, anyone can!

Dave Sorry I should have clearer on that; 100% it completely stops you from frowning. I now cannot physically pull my inner eyebrows to create my 11s if I tried which is exactly what I needed to prevent them getting worse. I didnt actually realise it until I had it done but its removed my (admittedly fine/small) smiling wrinkles ans crowd feet around my eyes.

The sensation can be odd but your brain will carry on 'smiling' and you will feel as if your face is reacting exactly as it always has when your chatting, making expressions, laughing etc... its just that if you watch yourself in a mirror your forehead is staying more still! Apparently the more you have the longer it lasts too. Time will tell! FYI I bruise very very easily and have thin skin so the injection sites look like tiny bee stings but I've still gone back to my office after having it done and all faded within a few days.

I had it done twice. Didnt work - no change at all. Apparently it doesnt on some people. They dont give you your money back.........

I think I might go for the consultation, although it sounds a lot more expensive than your treatments in NI. £50 for the consultation, and the treatments start at £195 Shock. The £50 comes off the treatment cost however.

I guess it's the joy of living in London...

Love botox but it does make your forehead a bit shiny or is that just me

who I don't know if it has made it a bit shinier or not... been using Younique powder which is a very matte finish.

dave I would definitely go for it although I know it does seem dear. And yep that's London for you! Transform is a brilliant surgical company I have also used for breast augmentation but it was 10 years ago, so it'd be a place to start looking if you were stuck although asking around hairdressers and your beautician is how I found mine....

Just realised you probably all think I look like Dolly Parton Grin but not at all. I like the simple, classic look but bloody hell do I feel my age!

ooooooh....I am so tempted to make the appointment.

I guess I'm just a bit scared as I have never had anything done before like this, and it is a lot of money...I guess I'm a bit nervous of something going wrong...and if I have the consultation and chicken out, that's £50 wasted....auuuugh.

I'm 34 and had it done for my wedding to stop squinting/frowning and it was great. No frowny photos, lasted about 5 months. Go to see a doctor and check qualifications. Thinking about having it again, I'd say go for it!

Ok..I've made a consultation appointment for next Friday with a view to getting the botox done that day..I'm a very impulsive person!

I'm excited but nervous too..hope I don't regret it.

Dave I wish I’d had it done years ago. First lot in late 40s when my 11s were deep set . They haven’t disappeared but are softened and I frown less. Lasts really well for about 2months , I have it redone every 3.
My beautician told me that because mine are so deep set only fillers would remove them a pond I’m a total coward about that. I’m 51 now, should have had them done when they started coming in 30s.

I'm 44 (45 in April) and I have really seen a change in my face generally over the past 3-4 years. Having 2 young kids at a later age I think has aged me, plus I lost some weight a couple of years ago by running and cleaning up my diet, and whilst my body is looking good (I think), my face has really aged.

As my mum always said, it's a bit of a choice between the body and the face as a bit of plumpness in the face really helps to minimise the lines!

43andcounting I travel to Enniskillen to a lady that runs an independent clinic. She travels and used various locations so may well end up nearer you but she's very good and sees me at her office in the town! PM me if you want her details 😄

Diana I'm going to a place called Cosmetica in Balham.

No direct recommendation, but from reviews online they look good.

I’m 35 and have been having Botox for 4 years (with a break for pregnancy). I have it every 5-6 months. Aside from the cosmetic result, I get far fewer headaches and actually feel happier as I’m unable to frown!
