Watching the movie 'table 19' and Anna Kendricks red cardigan spoke to me..I don't usually do red but the next day I went out and got one from Debenhams and it's a refreshing change from my normal look which has got some items of clothing I have had for over ten years..(or longer Blush)

Rose's dresses in Titanic

dibly · 04/01/2018 21:13

Not films, but Madonna's suit in the Vogue video. And definitely Robin Wright Penn in House of Cards.

Vitalogy · 04/01/2018 21:17

All Reese Witherspoon's gorgeous 50s dresses in Walk the Line. Yes. My favourite was the Christmas dinner red one.

Carrie Underwood all the time.
And Diane Lockheart.

Cheesy but that turquoise jumper Cameron Diaz wears in the Holiday, when she meets Jude in the pub.

CountFosco · 04/01/2018 21:37

Was she mainly in this last series, Count? I think I'd drifted away by then (never really got over Kalinda leaving).

Yes, and a major character in The Good Fight which I'd recommend. Has all the good stuff from The Good Wife and so many of the old characters, including Elspeth who I also loved. Actually that wardrobe department was brilliant at expressing the character's personalities through their clothes.

GingerLDN · 05/01/2018 02:26

Mia Sara’s Ferris Beullers day off outfit and some of the outfits on Rachel from Friends. Especially her long coat she had on the day she’d found out about Ross cheating.

Lottapianos · 05/01/2018 05:44

Jessica Chastain wears one stunning dress after another in Molly's Game, and some of the highest heels I've ever seen

BikeRunSki · 05/01/2018 06:00

Lake Bell’s claret coat and red rucksack combo in Man Up. I love that rucksack.

Anything with Audrey Tautou.

wasMissD · 05/01/2018 06:38

Blake Lively in Age Of Adaline. Gorgeous.

Sorry.... I meant “green rucksack” on my post about Man Up.

DaisyRenton18 · 05/01/2018 08:42

Essentially everything Emma Stone wears in Lalaland. And my work wardrobe also got a makeover after we watched Good Wife and House of Cards!

PoppyCherry · 05/01/2018 09:08

Jessica Pearson in Suits.

Love pretty much everything she wears and she just looks so polished.

QueenOfTheAndals · 05/01/2018 09:39

Reese Witherspoon's raspberry Burberry trench in Big Little Lies. And Nicole Kidman's cashmere jumpers.

DaisyRenton18 · 05/01/2018 09:43

Oh yes, forgot about Suits! Loved both Jessica and Rachel's outfits. And Donna had some stunning dresses too.

dungareepress · 05/01/2018 09:49

Neither an outfit or a film but I've just finished watching Doctor Foster and fantasised that one day when I'm a grown up I might have the style and flair of Suranne Jones.
Even when she emerged from the sea after trying to drown herself she looked better than I've ever looked.

Floisme · 05/01/2018 09:50

Thanks Count I think I recorded 'The Good Fight' but never watched - I'll check it out.

I agree with your other point too about expressing personality. I think any competent wardrobe department can put you in a nice frock but the real skill is making the clothes part of the story and character. That's why I think 'Rear Window' is so great - it's not just that Grace Kelly wears great clothes - it's that her clothes are the reason why James Stewart doesn't take her seriously.

dungareepress · 05/01/2018 09:50

A photo of the lovely doctor foster...

Another vote for Keira Knightley’s green dress from Atonement.

Grace Kelly’s white chiffon dress from To Catch a Thief. Swoon.

Cate Blanchett in Blue Jasmine - really good

Audrey Tatou in Priceless (not kooky like Amelie)

All in The Devil Wears Prada

And there’s a series called The Agency set in Paris and the women look great

squoosh · 05/01/2018 10:51

Doctor Foster wore the most hideous shoes.

dungareepress · 05/01/2018 12:25

Really Squoosh? I thought they were pretty standard low heels? Nothing too offensive.
Off to google it...

Lottapianos · 05/01/2018 13:12

squoosh is right, they were totally hideous, both the black and the cream pairs. Shockers.
