Watching the movie 'table 19' and Anna Kendricks red cardigan spoke to me..I don't usually do red but the next day I went out and got one from Debenhams and it's a refreshing change from my normal look which has got some items of clothing I have had for over ten years..(or longer )

WOW. I think I would find an excuse to wear that every day.

When I was a student I wore sequinned dresses and fur jackets most days for lectures. Wish I could get away with that on the school run now!!

I love Mrs Brown's colourful boho style in Paddington (and her house ). I've just bought a pair of Irregular Choice shoes like hers!

Wasn't Rene Russo's entire wardrobe created for her by a big designer/ fashion house in the Thomas Crown Affair? (I want to say Givenchy, but suspect I'm confusing her with Audrey Hepburn).

Loved Madonna's glittery green/black/gold jacket in Desperately Seeking Susan + her rhinestone boots.

Loved everything Kim Bassinger wore in the first Batman movie.

Rear window without a doubt - that film makes me sigh a happy sigh. Also the green suit she wears reminds me of my Nan - she had a slim figure and in pictures taken in the 50s she wore the i shape - very straight mid calve skirts and short matching jackets. Although she was not as daring with what she wore underneath! Unfortunately I have thighs and hips so the tubular skirt would not suit.

It's not wildly exciting but I have always liked the dress that Charlize Theron wears in Young Adult (before it gets ruined!) I really recommend the film too!

Her gorgeous clothes were wasted on James Stewart though! She wafted about in some lovely creations (I liked the black dress with the cap sleeves) but he barely tore his eyes away from his binoculars.

I watched gone with the wind at Christmas and I found myself wishing I had lived in that era to be able to wear all those huge dresses with the corsets and the bussles. Beautiful.

More realistically (and tv not film sorry) I love all of Jess’s clothes in New Girl. Zooey Deschanel is my girl crush. I also love all the clothes in Suits.

And the 80’s stuff worn by Meryl Streep in Kramer vs. Kramer. Really effortlessly stylish.
