I just want controllable hair. Did rush to the hairdresser immediately on return for the full works.

Cremolafoam · 21/08/2017 09:14

I desperately need hair and eyebrows tamed as well as nails gelled or something before holiday. can I get an appointment? Aargh!

I am also liking this look of wide cropped black trousers and chunky shoes I am seeing. Have picked up a pair of heavy black linen Next trousers in the chazzer to shorten and attempt it myself. It looks, ahem, comfy.Blush

bigTillyMint · 21/08/2017 11:32

MI DD wears wide-leg trousers with chunky trainers and she is petite too Smile

motherinferior · 21/08/2017 11:47

I'm not sure I'm petite - just a short arse!

Cremolafoam · 21/08/2017 11:53

I love that look too MI. I was just browsing for that very thing yesterday. I think they look good either with strappy sandals or a white trainer ( singular!)
Length is the difficulty. Culotte length or midi length do you think?

This look for me I think.

I look ridiculous in those - stick like legs coming out of gigantic trews. Lots of girls in China seemed to pull it off really well.

hattymattie · 21/08/2017 18:04

Midi length crem.

motherinferior · 21/08/2017 18:05

I am going for the slightly longer

addle · 21/08/2017 18:16

I fancyvthat looks too - sort of autumn variant on my surprisingly wearable and comfy Zara summer culottes. Where to get them tho? I hate hate hate trying on trousers what with being a shirt arse who doesn't want to wear heels.

motherinferior · 21/08/2017 18:21

In my case, the chazzer...

Cremolafoam · 21/08/2017 20:12

In my case H&M in case of mind change and possible incipient horror.
Hmm trying on sesh later after Ive dealt with Les Espagnoles at Iberica.

Crem Count me in for the tapas MU. I did mention it on WA, but I know stuff moves so fast on there. Looking forward to seeing a few more faces, and matching them to MN names!

MrsSchadenfreude · 22/08/2017 09:40

Can any of you recommend some comfy black shoes for DD1 to wear to work? She currently only has her DMs. And she's not allowed trainers. Oh and she hates loafers.

MrsWobble3 · 22/08/2017 10:31

I would suggest cheap ballet flats. She should go to Primark or New Look and see if she can find any she can tolerate. They are essentially disposable shoes but if she's not going to like them I'd spend as little as possible - assuming she has no medical need for anything in particular.

motherinferior · 22/08/2017 11:06

Oh, excellent suggestion, MrsW.

Cremolafoam · 22/08/2017 11:35

Mrs S, there are quite a few bargains on this site.
plain black shoes . the sketcher pumps have a tiny bit more support than a flat ballet shoe if she will be on her feet all day?

OP posts:
addle · 22/08/2017 13:06

Maybe worth looking at insoles fr any entirely flat pumps?

BeachysFlipFlops · 22/08/2017 16:28

Dd1 has the most hideous flat shoes for her waitressing work, like a boys school shoe attached with Velcro. In fact, they might be a boys shoe, from an illustrious outlet like Shoe Zone. She's all about the comfort when earning money!

addle · 22/08/2017 18:16

M&S - I've just had an email through promoting a houseware sale but there's a pic underneath with what looks like a nice red and taupe jumper - but guess what ? it's not on the website and the web chat adviser could find no trace of it.

Why would you do that? Why? It's not the first time either. They are self-destructive idiots.

Cremolafoam · 23/08/2017 08:43

I hate that Addle. Infuriating. It has happened to me before in catalogues , where the nicest thing in the page is 'models own' or just a prop for the shoot. I chased around for ages after a great haircut on a lady in an ad I saw too. Blush never found it again.

Am doing a bit of laying stuff out for the holiday packing today.- see what needs washed, and to work out what we will bring. Then off for a catch up with a friend tonight.

M and S is terribly like that. I accidentally say some of their new autumn stuff yesterday, ye gods I wish I hadn't.

When are you off Crem?

Beachy, dd has similar for when she did events work. Hideous but comfy and supportive.

motherinferior · 23/08/2017 14:04

I quite like that stage of packing. Unlike DP who FLINGS everything - and I do mean everything - in at the last minute. Literally the last minute. I am not joking.

Blackduck · 23/08/2017 19:01

Been on holibobs but back now...
