Woooah MrsS, what a tale. And yes.

motherinferior · 29/11/2017 18:01

Oops, I appear to have spent quite a lot of money BEFORE Christmas shopping. Pound shop for stockings it is...

MrsSchadenfreude · 30/11/2017 06:36

I don’t do stockings any more. Although I would quite like it if someone did one for me. Mine will still get Christmas pants (Debenhams) - v useful for boarding school! Also American shower gel that they are obsessed with, and chocolate in some form.

MrsWobble3 · 30/11/2017 07:23

Dd1 won't be home for Christmas so I was going to post her stocking. She has asked if she can take it with her to make sure she has it for Christmas morning. I have pointed out the implied lack of faith in santa and his reindeer and potential implications thereof but she thinks it will still be better.

MsMartini · 30/11/2017 08:21

MrsW Grin.

MI, what on? Anything nice?

motherinferior · 30/11/2017 09:47

Mine definitely want a chocolate orange😀

motherinferior · 30/11/2017 09:49

I got a new bag, MrsM - nothing by MN standards of spendiness but a v useful JL number for £49 which accommodates all my Stuff, and I have various presents to take to India which aren't all cheap, and some theatre tickets and so forth. So nice things really.

MrsSchadenfreude · 30/11/2017 10:10

Chocolate orange is essential Christmas food.

MrsWobble3 · 30/11/2017 10:40

It's one of your 5 a day as well so a healthy option

motherinferior · 30/11/2017 12:53

Two. Trust me, my article on the health benefits of choc is currently available in a mag near you. (This is actually true. The feature, anyway. I got some fab freebies including a Hotel Choc advent calendar.)

MrsSchadenfreude · 01/12/2017 21:24

So Toblerone could also count of your two a day, what with the nuts? Grin

Does anyone (random question, I know!) know what you can do about soluble stitches that don't dissolve? I had some in my face about 18 months ago, pulled out two that hadn't dissolved and had worked their way to the surface, and I think there is still one in there, as I have a small bump and it's pricking a bit.

motherinferior · 03/12/2017 14:41

Hmmm. I will try to find out!

MrsSchadenfreude · 03/12/2017 21:35

Lovely to see so many of you last night.

In S & B news, Amazon has some bargainous Clark’s shoes. I just bought some black leather work shoes for £20!

magimedi · 05/12/2017 19:35

Had my colonoscopy today (and it was no where near as bad as I'd feared, nor was the prep).

Diverticular disease is what was diagnosed & that is easily managed.

I was happy but DS was even happier that he did not have the horror of Mum with bowel cancer to top off his year!

motherinferior · 05/12/2017 22:09

Oh MAJOR MAJOR HURRAH! I am so pleased 😀😀😀🤣🤣🤣

MsMartini · 06/12/2017 09:08

Oh Magi, hurrah for diverticulosis. Great news, and a worry struck off the list. Sending all good wishes to you and your family. xx

BeachysFlipFlops · 06/12/2017 10:15

That’s great news Magi.....Flowers

magimedi · 06/12/2017 10:19

Thank you.

If any of you want a lovely diversion today go & have a look at this thread about cargo ships - really gets one dreaming!

NUFC69 · 06/12/2017 10:41

MM, such good news, I am happy for you and the family. Fingers crossed for the New Year.

Just debating with myself as to what to wear to go out for lunch; we're only going to an Italian, but one of the women is petit and beautifully coiffed and I always feel like an elephant at the side of her. Mind I wouldn't change with her as she is the friend whose husband died earlier this year. Sad

hattymattie · 06/12/2017 17:37

MM - just to send a big hello, you must be so relieved at the good news.

Rosenspants · 07/12/2017 17:08

MM so pleased to hear that you can be treated. Not that diverticulitis is much fun but I’m sure they’ll get it under control. You must be so relieved!

herbaceous · 07/12/2017 20:25

Hurrah for your colon, MM.

Just nipping in to echo Mrs S's Clarks on Amazon recommendation - I got some bronze Glick Derbys for £25. They actually have sensible sizes (like 6), unlike most shoe sales emporia.

ALSO I must big up my new tights. Sainsbury's, naturally. They're the 100 dernier body shaper numbers, and don't sag or bunch, are not shiny (if worn inside out) and the body shaper bit of them just provides a comforting clutch to the jiggle, while not disrupting one's digestion like some can. Top marks. And of course cheap.

motherinferior · 08/12/2017 08:46

I need new fleece-lined tights. Realised at least one pair of mine has become so bobbly even I am embarrassed.

MrsSchadenfreude · 08/12/2017 09:54

Yes, great news about the colon, MM!

MI - TK Maxx often have fleece tights at bargainous prices. I got DD some Laura Ashley ones last year. She wears them a lot, and they wash and come up like new. No bobbling at all. Also had some other branded ones from there that were good.

I also like Sainsbury's tights. I have found the solution to tights not falling down, which is, counterintuitively, to buy a smaller size, not a bigger size. Although it is always M & S tights that don't stay up on me - Boots, Sainsbo and Tesco all fine.

I have a £25 JL voucher burning a hole in my purse - shall I go for a Charlotte Tilbury nude lippy or put it towards some Murad Invisiblur? I look about 90 this morning.

motherinferior · 08/12/2017 12:33

My now-bobbling ones did come from TKM, at least two (2,ii) years ago so have lasted the course!
