Can we talk about Autumn and things we are lusting after?

I am on the hunt for a deep chestnut pair of pull on calf length boots.

Anyone seen anything decent?

Also what is up with Toast this year?

Apart from just lusting after Autumn in general I'm also lusting after some knee high brown leather boots similar to what Kate often wears, can't remember the brand but they're about £400.

Squashit · 09/08/2017 13:58

Buy them direct from Spain and they are around £100.

Valverde I think they are called.

Squashit, not sure what size feet you are but Zara kids often have a suede pair of boots each season exactly like the fatface ones.

Zara's kids sizes go up to a size 5, I think.

oldlaundbooth · 09/08/2017 13:59

Ah, thanks for that Grin

Squashit · 09/08/2017 14:00

OOh! Thanks oldlaund 🙂

I want knee high riding boots from Duo. Mine are 7 years old...still looking good but time for a nice new pair

DearMrDilkington · 09/08/2017 14:05

I want a poncho with a hood if anyone has spotted one? I got dd a lovely one from next, it looks so snug that I now want one too. Grin

I love autumn clothes. Looking forward to being back in 100 denier opaques - bye, daily leg shaving - and leather and suede. I bought a few lovely jumpers in the Whistles sale, so they're waiting on top of the wardrobe for me, but the thing I would really like is a long (calf-length) wool coat, preferably in charcoal. I bought a really cheap one from New Look last year and loved swishing around in it, but it's already tatty and was never especially warm.

I still haven't bought any ankle boots. (Yes, still). So maybe this year!

I'd really like some nice black jeans - unfortunately I am very tall, so this is more of a difficult hunt that it seems it should be. I'd also like some decent quality jumpers (preferably V-neck) in colours like olive and dark red. Slouchy-ish preferably. To wear with my black jeans. I have a whole outfit in my head - of course, if I bought all the things and put them all on, they wouldn't actually look like that. But anyway it's what I want!

I need at least a couple of new dresses for work, too, because rotating the same 7 around is starting to look somewhat obvious! Will keep an eye on autumn lines as they start coming in, but probably have to buy in the winter sales.

SukiTheDog · 09/08/2017 16:27

Thanks for the tip, OP. Nothing on Jaeger either.

Tentomidnight · 09/08/2017 17:07

Ooh BadlyDrawnBoy that is a lovely dress. Unfortunately I'm a shortarse so the length would be all wrong on me Angry

GrumpyOldFucker · 09/08/2017 17:19

Michell50 love that parka, what are the sizes like?

Tentomidnight · 09/08/2017 20:01

For those after a tweedy coat, just saw this on M&S website. Any good?

Can we talk about Autumn and things we are lusting after?
wishiwasacollie · 09/08/2017 20:03

Try jack murphy for tweed coats. I want a floaty but warm hooded long cardie like Alicia had in the Good Wife. I also want a navy dress like Cam wears in bones. I however need to get the figure of said women

sortingmyselfoutslowly · 09/08/2017 20:05

I just won some burgundy Chelsea boots on eBay for £2.30 (new)- bargain! Looking for tights, breton tops and some thin knits that don't look wrecked after one wash.

nigelsbigface · 09/08/2017 20:18

Had anyone got a warmer parca?I like that rain mac parca but I think I need something thicker.
I also like those fat face boots but Im not sure about my ability to not ruin suede immediately.

Sunshineandeggshells · 09/08/2017 20:26

I want long skirts. Any ideas?

miffy2 · 09/08/2017 20:30

My favourite time of year for clothes...

Top of my wish list for this year are:
-black suede ankle boots with a block heel, not too high
-comfy brogues like these in burgundy from M&S:
www.marksandspencer.ie/Leather-Flatform-Brogue-Shoes/000000060113652008,en_IE,pd.html?pagesource=cart
-slouchy grey jumper, V neck or boatneck preferably

That's about it for now. I have lost about 12lbs since June and have another 20 or so to go so I will be able to fully shop my wardrobe once that weight is gone lol.

Laquila · 09/08/2017 20:33

Oooh I love this thread already.

I'm after a new Didriksons parka to replace my beloved old khaki Taylor (recs for black ones with a fur trim hood gratefully received).

I'd also like a cocoon-style coat, possibly slightly wool-ish or tweedy (vague on the details). Other than that I'm awaiting inspiration! (i.e. bookmarking this thread)

bananafish81 · 09/08/2017 20:40

I've been having a good clear out of my wardrobe and logging stuff in Stylebook, to try and create a good capsule wardrobe, and to help me shop more wisely (so I can buy pieces that will work with stuff I already have)

On my wish list / autumn pinterest board

  • pair of proper black leather leggings
  • decent black leather skirt
  • new black leather Chelsea ankle boots

And my big splurge is that I'm going to be massively indulgent and invest in a Burberry trench 😱

Laquila · 09/08/2017 20:42

Just had a gander at Boden's New In stuff - v disappointing apart from POSSIBLY the Olive blouse.

Also not over enthused with Toast - although generally I usually like where they're going (and I appreciate their pyjamas), I'm getting a distinct poorly-Sylvia-Plath vibe, and that's rarely a good thing.

Horispondle · 09/08/2017 20:46

Banana and others: who do you 'follow' on Pinterest/what do you search for? I use
Pinterest lots for other things but always find the 'style' section too American?

Tentomidnight for £69 I am going to go and stroke that and report back!

I also notice for anyone who's in the market for a cheapie trench, M&S have brought out another of their excellent ones that always sell out in three weeks because they can't get their stock control right and waste space on loads of awful stuff argh why do they do it.

Here.
