I am on the hunt for a deep chestnut pair of pull on calf length boots.

Anyone seen anything decent?

Also what is up with Toast this year?

I'm not usually a White Stuff fan but I've just ordered this jacket:

enid I bought the Hush Felix dress last year in Forest Green, I love it. The dry clean thing is a pain though.

I'm seriously considering a Protected Species parka, sold out at the moment but new stocks are coming in. If anyone has one, what colour do you have?

I'm also looking for a gorgeous pair of chestnut brown leather knee high boots, any recommendations please?

I bought these Isabel Marants recently - impulse buy any ideas what I can wear them with.

I'm perfectly aware they're a marmite shoe

I got a Bladen woman's tweed hacking jacket this summer. It's extremely smart but I have no idea what to wear with it that doesn't make me look like I'm off to a gymkhana......

It's a traditional colour with a discreet red stripe running through it. I have had this fake tweed jacket from Joules for the last couple of years and it's a shorter length than the Bladen, and very handy for chucking on over tee-shirts/jeans etc in Spring/Autumn. The Bladen is a traditional cut, and a longer length. Very neatly fitting though. Any ideas?

Gosh have you seen the picture of JWA down the bottom of the collection home page?

I have just seen this cord skirt on the Oasis website. Looks nice and cosy.

There's a lot of cord about, trying to find some petite cord trousers, possibly in red.

Actually strike that last post. Just been looking at JWA for Uniqlo again now the close ups are working and that tweed overcoat which I'd dismissed (assuming the sleeve ties come off) might just be exactly what I've been looking for.

In fact I've just mentally spent my entire stash on that collection so think I'll hold off with the major spending till it comes out - although I'll probably get killed in the scrum.

I think it's nearly time to make my move before they bring out the Christmas tat and that Rudolph jumper with the plastic nose starts looking cool.

I've been putting a bit of money to one side all year so, if I'm selective and judicious, I can splash out a bit. Don't think it'll be a coat this year though; I don't need one and even that yummy Toast tweedy one isn't quite what I want. If it ends up in the sales then all bets are off but meanwhile I want some slouchy, stride-out trousers. Got tailored but want some more casual, as an alternative to jeans which I'm a bit bored with. I've found with trousers it really can be worth throwing money about so contemplating Toast and Margaret Howell.

Then I want the perfect V neck jumper plus I may need some flat ankle boots (but cheap because I kill them to death). And if there's anything left, I'd love something from JW Anderson for Uniqlo.

DragonmotherKhaleesi So far i've worn my navy saskia trench with high heel courts. I have a pair of suede heeled knee high boots and some heeled ankle boots which i'll move into as it gets colder.

Personally i can't wear flats with it. I'd look awful.

I dithered over the navy and the burgendy! If i'd got the burgendy i'd still go for black, navy, tan ect. All the usual. Maybe just not a matching dark red though.

One thing I wanted opinion on I have order Mabel in green and Jessie in navy dresses from Boden. One constant thing I get is I dress too old so are they for someone in their mid 30s?

Are you in your mid 30s? I've got a skater dress in a very similar print to the green Mabel dress which gets lots of compliments. I also have a navy jersey dress from Boden. But they are both about four years old. I'd say that Boden dresses are well made and flattering and wash well and I like that they do them in petite and I like them for work where I need to look smartish but it doesn't matter how fashionable I am. But if I wanted to look cool I'd not wear a Boden dress and I'm in my mid 40s.

I think the dress silhouette is changing and looser dresses are becoming more fashionable again and Boden aren't really addressing that yet (whereas Baukjen who also do jersey dresses have and so have fresher looking dresses).

I am LUSTING after a pair of suede knee high boots which I was introduced to after following a link from here Hmm regarding navy boots & these just popped up as an advert below.

And they're 'spensive & sold out in my size. I shall phone the company tomorrow & vent my wrath (RAWR); actually I'll just phone & say 'hello, please could you possibly tell me when you have a size 3...'

I live in ankle boots and knacker them within a year, got this year's lovely new ankle boot from &otherstories

http://www.stories.com/gb/Shoes/Boots/Ankleboots/Leatherr_Boots/638252-0497416001.2

Have a NAP order with Joseph, Helmut Lang and By Malene Birger leather leggings to try on, hoping one or them will be THE one, as I'd like to upgrade last year's faux leather ones to the real thing

Bit of a leather theme as I also want to do the same with a nice leather mini skirt - have two styles from Whistles on order to try on

Different styles in 2 different sizes each to try on, poor credit card!

I've had a Hobbs trench for two years and it's lasted me so well! They had a springtime sale one year, was chuffed

If anyone has any workwear trouser tips for tall girls let me know! Sort of 5,8... Never been able to find any that are long enough - ideally don't want short ones above ankle... plus have gangly legs but rather rounded belly :)

Ok, I've cracked and started spending money. Got cotton navy work trousers from M&S. Not convinced by the gold hardware but otherwise smart and SFW. After my disappointing Hush order where I sent everything back I received my COS order today and am keeping a blue belt that's the colour of my eyes, a navy dress that looks fab with the belt (and boobs) and a navy top. Although I might change my mind about the top because I also want a navy silk blouse and I feel navyed out now (and I've not yet got my navy cardigan). Might need to buy some colourful brogues or something. Would love a long line grey cardigan but realistically I've already got three slouchy grey jumpers/cardigans so that might be excessive.

Stradivarius is the same parent company as Zara, Massimo Dutti, and Bershka. I bought a lot from there when I was a student in Spain!

Dinosaur lots of chunky knit and long cardigans in Next this season. River Island also had a lovely chunky knit cardigan when I was in the other day although it wasn't long, more hip length. I'll see if I can find link.

I'm looking for a grandad-style cable knit grey cardigan - preferably one that's hip-length, although that's not essential. Any thoughts? I'm not fussed if it comes from the men's or women's sections, really!
