Do you think Kate gets it "right" compare to other royals?

Needless to say its a DM link

Do you think Kate looks the most stylish? I think Sophie looks lovely, great colour and lovely hat. I think Kate has an advantage as she is very slim / toned but not sure if her dress is actually the nicest. I think she also gets all her stuff made to measure / altered so it fits her better.

Bea and Zara's have got very crushed which makes them look less polished. Autumn Phillips looks nice but can only just see her!

Eugenie's is a no from me! too frou frou.

Eugenie needs a much better bra!

Kate dresses like she's 40 + occasionally she should dress her age a bit more

JaneJeffer · 23/06/2017 14:50

I can't see Kate wearing a safety pin dress Grin

Hairq · 23/06/2017 16:22

Like many others, I think Kate dresses a good 15 years too old for her age. She also looks like a bride in those pics. I do worry for her. She's so thin and it doesn't look natural at all.

Love how Sophie is dressed - that green is perfect.

I like Eugenie's dress for its simplicity and not being too old for her, but she needs a decent bra and a lower neckline. I think she's gorgeous actually and just doesn't always dress very well.

WTF is Beatrice wearing though? She looks roasting hot and it's way too fussy and old for her.

PickAChew · 23/06/2017 16:43

I suspect that Eugenie's higher necklines stem from not al large breasted women being comfortable with showing off a lot of cleavage in all circumstances. When you're something like a 36K, there's all too many people who will stare at you about a foot below eye level, whatever you do or don't cover your breasts with, which can get a bit tiring. When they're that large, though, there does tend to be either an awful lot of decolletage and cleavage or an awful lot of fabric. That red dress does strike a nice balance, there.

Hairq · 23/06/2017 19:01

Oh, that red dress look fantastic on Eugenie. I've only just seen it. And yes, the neckline on that one really works. I have the boobs problem too and you have to be so careful with necklines or you look like either breasts on legs or they look like balloons trying to escape from a blanket.

TheLuminaries · 23/06/2017 20:57

The red dress is better, for sure, but she is no looker. Not everyone is, but I suppose it matters when 'going out in public in expensive clothes' is effectively your job and you aren't very good at it.

Zara is no clothes horse, but it is irrelevant because she is a brilliant and successful sportswoman (like her mother).

nina2b · 24/06/2017 10:58

Eugenie is pretty!! Good grief, how amazing that anyone would say "no looker" - horrible expression, by the way. Envious much!?

Are you brave enough to post a photograph of yourself so that we can judge your "looker" status.

nina2b · 24/06/2017 10:58

?

MaryLennoxsScowl · 24/06/2017 13:51

I really dislike Kate's clothes in general, they're so dull. That white lace dress is oddly bridal and I don't like high necklines in lace. Her shoes are grim too - nude pumps are minging.

I like the green dress Sophie is wearing, and I like the idea of the blue one whichever of the princesses is wearing but it's a bit small for her - I like the sleeves and the black sections at the waist. Mind you, if I had a fraction of their dress budgets I'd have something far cooler!

toffeeboffin · 24/06/2017 13:57

Why the fuck would Luminaries post a picture of herself? Confused

SenecaFalls · 24/06/2017 14:45

This thread has become a bit nasty. It's one thing to discuss fashion, quite another to body shame women.

TheLuminaries · 24/06/2017 14:50

Why the fuck would Luminaries post a picture of herself?

Indeed, my looks are utterly irrelevant. I actually earn a living off my own back, rather than attempting to trade in on my 'royal blood' and get photographed in expensive clobber, so people don't get to judge me on my looks. They can judge me on my ability to hold down a good job, raise a family and pay my mortgage without any family money, thank you very much.

BubblesBuddy · 24/06/2017 14:54

Kate's dress this year is Alexander McQ. The white lace last year was D and G. Most people would say these are designers for a 35 year old.

Notmyrealname85 · 24/06/2017 15:01

I think we need to remember to blame their stylists!

Anyway yes Kate dresses older but she always has unfortunately (tweed in her early 20s!). They should have her more in soft graphic prints instead of anything too flowery, for example. I don't know how many designers do want to be associated with Kate, but would be good to push more young designers as Michelle Obama's team did. When they put Kate in eg McQueen it's always the waaaaaaay safest options - even her wedding dress (which was gorgeous), I was shocked at how traditional it was for McQueen.

Her outfits on that tour to Bhutan were better, bolder

sodablackcurrant · 24/06/2017 15:06

The high necked white laced dress worn by KM at Ascot reminded me of the Stepford Wifes (first edition).

Sorry, maybe she just doesn't want to be noticed or something, but that dress was just so ageing.

She is someone that could wear anything, but no, she chose this. Awful choice, but it's done now.

QueenoftheAndals · 24/06/2017 18:00

Kate always looks well-turned out but dresses about 10-20 years older than what she is. I don't think it's because of her role either - Mary of Denmark, Letizia of Spain and Rania of Jordan all dress appropriately for their role yet are far more stylish, despite being older than Kate.

And can we have a round of applause for Princess Anne? Any 65yo woman who can still fit into outfits she wore 30 years ago is definitely doing something right!

MaQueen · 24/06/2017 20:38

Eugenie & Beatrice always look and dress like pantomime dames to me.

Kate dresses in a painfully classic style as does her Mum. I think it's because they're middle class and terrified of getting it wrong in the eyes of the upper classes.

IfYouGoDownToTheWoodsToday · 24/06/2017 21:24

I think she can look utterly beautiful and classic but she sometimes gets it wrong and looks a bit bland.

But I don't think she's that into clothes. She obviously has to choose numerous outfits, but as she seems to wear the same pair of shoes (probably has many pairs of them in various colours), with every single outfit, I suspect she doesn't care too much.

SamanthaBrique · 24/06/2017 22:07

Eugenie and Beatrice take fashion risks that don't always work, but when they do they actually look more stylish than Kate.

BuzzKillington · 24/06/2017 22:12

I don't like her style at all, but she always looks perfect. Her figure is amazing.

Beatrice and Eugenie can be relied upon to look frightful. Sophie is better, but still looks somewhat lumpen compared to Kate.

Bibs2014 · 24/06/2017 22:51

I think she looks lovely.

diddl · 25/06/2017 17:25

I like Beatrice in this

Nettletheelf · 25/06/2017 20:26

I like that outfit too. An excellent example of Beatrice taking a successful fashion risk and looking better than Kate!

BossyBitch · 25/06/2017 20:33

She's the same age as me but dresses in a style my mum wouldn't wear because she'd think it's too old looking for her.

cashmerecardigans · 25/06/2017 20:48

I think Eugenie is really pretty and YY to her in Vivienne Westwood
