Do you think Kate gets it "right" compare to other royals?

Needless to say its a DM link

Do you think Kate looks the most stylish? I think Sophie looks lovely, great colour and lovely hat. I think Kate has an advantage as she is very slim / toned but not sure if her dress is actually the nicest. I think she also gets all her stuff made to measure / altered so it fits her better.

Bea and Zara's have got very crushed which makes them look less polished. Autumn Phillips looks nice but can only just see her!

Eugenie's is a no from me! too frou frou.

I think Kate is beautiful and classy but she's a bit conservative. Also she's too thin in my opinion she never used to be that skeletal

Queenofthedrivensnow · 27/06/2017 19:13

Princess Anne's outfit is great

Want2bSupermum · 27/06/2017 23:57

I have a suspicion that they never broke up and it was all about her having a last bit of a private life before getting married. It's also funny that everyone refers to her as Kate. At school she was known as Catherine and I doubt anything changed. Kate is just a name that is more familiar to people.

BitOutOfPractice · 28/06/2017 00:17

With regards to the Kate / Catherine thing, I think that happens to a lot of people. What I was called by mates at school is different to how I'm known now as a 50yo 35 year old professional. My mother calls me something different again. My dp calls me something different again. People do change i.e. Get older, their roles chance and the people they mix with change. That's certainly been my experience anyway

Did you watch the interview she did after their engagement was announced. She was quite forthright in saying how she did not want to break up. I'd say William wanted a final foray of bachelor life and she had no choice but to either accept it or lose him for good. She seemed quite vulnerable during a very rehearsed interview which speaks volumes.

kthxbai · 28/06/2017 06:46

They did not break up. Trust me on this one.

TipTopTipTopClop · 28/06/2017 06:53

The Duchess always looks great. She's not too thin, IMO.

She should try being a bit more edgy, but we can hardly blame her for playing it safe. I bet she does mix it up a bit in her private engagements - I'd love to see what she'd wear to a private dinner party.

Dentistwimp · 28/06/2017 06:55

Actually, they did

CoverYourEarsTeam · 28/06/2017 07:21

Princess Bea definitely has an off-duty wardrobe. I loved her in this: www.independent.ie/style/celebrity/celebrity-news/princess-beatrice-suffers-wardrobe-malfunction-in-semisheer-dress-at-london-bash-35857765.html, although the story was all about the "wardrobe malfunction". And again, good shoes.

QueenoftheAndals · 28/06/2017 07:44

It's also funny that everyone refers to her as Kate

In their engagement interview William calls her Kate, and there was a cutting from the student magazine at St Andrews where she's also called Kate. I think the whole "she's always been called Catherine" thing is a bit of revisionist history!

TheLuminaries · 28/06/2017 08:48

OMG that sheer navy dress - my eyes!

QueenoftheAndals · 28/06/2017 12:47

The sheer dress wouldn't be so bad if it was properly lined to mid-thigh, or indeed if she'd just adjusted what she was wearing underneath it. And yes, the York girls do give good shoe!

diddl · 28/06/2017 15:08

I thought that that sheer dress looked OK.

The Queen lines her skirt hems with stones??!!Grin

SamanthaBrique · 28/06/2017 15:18

Yes, I've heard that. To prevent her flashing her arse in a gust of wind, like Kate did a few years ago

diddl · 28/06/2017 15:25

Well HM probably does have hems weighted, but I doubt that it's with stonesSmile

Oh, unless that's a proper term for them?

In which caseBlush at my ignorance.

Want2bSupermum · 28/06/2017 15:29

It's with beads. I do the same to my summer dresses because here in NYC a gust of upward wind will blow my skirt up to my ears in summer. I don't have an arse nearly as toned as DoC.

Niminy · 28/06/2017 15:34

Weighted hems are great, they help clothes to hang properly. It's one of the things that makes couture clothes so wonderful. This shows the inside of a couture Chanel jacket - the hems are weighted with chain so that it lies flat against the body.

VanillaSugar · 28/06/2017 16:22

The Party Pieces magazine's always referred to her as Kate. Especially from 2005 onwards!

SamanthaBrique · 28/06/2017 17:10

He calls her Kate at around the 8:24 mark in the .

sunnyhills · 28/06/2017 19:15

Niminy - I love that website showing the construction of items . Those chains in the Chanel jacket manage to be elegant .

hollyisalovelyname · 28/06/2017 19:31

Thanks Samantha for the interview.
I'd seen it but forgotten it.
Kate is very pretty in it, lovely dimple.
She speaks very 'posh'.
Posher than William. Smile
Sophie Wessex has really upped her sartorial game since Kate's marriage.
She looks great.
Princess Anne's husband rarely gets mentioned.
I love Zara's attitude. She seems very down to earth

Theycalledmethewildrose · 28/06/2017 20:26

I remember reading Kate's classmates said she started speaking in a posher accent at school and spoke differently to Pippa.i later read she speaks in a posher accent than William and Harry too! Shame really that she felt the need to change her accent as I would think it wasn't exactly Cockney to begin with. The stress and hundreds of elocution lessons the parlace probably made her undertake to learn their 'ways' probably added to it too.

QueenoftheAndals · 28/06/2017 20:50

Gosh, Kate looks pretty much the same now as she did in that interview but William has really aged since, hasn't he?

hollyisalovelyname · 29/06/2017 09:39

Queen I thought the very same re William ageing.
I think he and Lord Frederick Windsor look very alike now.

BuzzKillington · 29/06/2017 13:26

William would look barely different if he'd held onto his hair - that's the only ageing thing, imo.
