Do you think Kate gets it "right" compare to other royals?

Needless to say its a DM link

Do you think Kate looks the most stylish? I think Sophie looks lovely, great colour and lovely hat. I think Kate has an advantage as she is very slim / toned but not sure if her dress is actually the nicest. I think she also gets all her stuff made to measure / altered so it fits her better.

Bea and Zara's have got very crushed which makes them look less polished. Autumn Phillips looks nice but can only just see her!

Eugenie's is a no from me! too frou frou.

Agree they both look well. It shows what plenty of help and multiple holidays can do for your looks I suppose!

Floisme · 29/06/2017 19:02

Kate plays it safe, dresses appropriately and, while I'm not a royalist, I don't expect any more from her. I agree with posters who say she doesn't seem very interested in fashion and there's absolutely no reason why she should be. If you don't feel it, you don't feel it.

Diana was far more up for it but it took her a long time to find her own style and let's not forget, she wore some shockers along the way. She got away with it because those were kinder, pre-internet days. If Kate were to make mistakes like that now, she'd get slaughtered. Why would you risk it if you don't even like clothes that much?

Have to say I really like the Gucci dress Kate wore to the V&A today. It was very Mary Tyler Moore from her eponymous tv show, although once again the shoes were a tad boring

QueenoftheAndals
People's tastes are so different.
I really disliked that Gucci dress on her.
I looked at it and thought it is probably so expensive because it's Gucci but it's not a nice dress.

ElspethFlashman · 29/06/2017 20:47

I disliked it too. But primarily cos it looked too small on her. I know she's tall but shes not a six footer! She just always goes for these dresses with waists up at her ribcage and they always look shrunken as a result.

BuzzKillington · 29/06/2017 20:55

I hate that dress on her - she cant carry it off at all imo. She would need to be edgy to make it look good, with a stylish haircut.

QueenoftheAndals · 29/06/2017 20:55

I thought it was a bit quirky and more interesting than what she usually goes for, although would maybe have preferred it without the pockets.

BarchesterFlowers · 29/06/2017 20:56

I thought it was too short for someone who is photographed getting out of cars/bending down and agree with Elspeth.

hollyisalovelyname · 30/06/2017 09:05

Great description Elspeth

Fozzleyplum · 30/06/2017 11:05

Spot on Elspeth. I'm a similar height to KM and steer clear of clothes with high waistlines because I think I look as though I've grown out of them.

I suspect KM's penchant for the high waist/nude shoe combination is because both are classic ways to give an illusion of longer legs.

VanillaSugar · 30/06/2017 11:37

Both Pippa and Kate have long bodies and short legs, which is what i have. But I also have an ample bosom so I can't go for the high waist option otherwise I look like a blousy matron.

That is perfectly put - she looks like she has grown out of them!

hollyisalovelyname · 30/06/2017 17:33

Fozzley you got it in one- she looked like she had grown out of the Gucci dress. It looked odd.
