Do you think Kate gets it "right" compare to other royals?

Needless to say its a DM link

Do you think Kate looks the most stylish? I think Sophie looks lovely, great colour and lovely hat. I think Kate has an advantage as she is very slim / toned but not sure if her dress is actually the nicest. I think she also gets all her stuff made to measure / altered so it fits her better.

Bea and Zara's have got very crushed which makes them look less polished. Autumn Phillips looks nice but can only just see her!

Eugenie's is a no from me! too frou frou.

" but nobody is making them do the royal stuff."

No, true.

But what does their body shape have to do with the fact that they have chosen to do some Royal duties?

TheLuminaries · 22/06/2017 20:48

The fact that their father was touting them as 'royal blood' when they look anything but finely bred was an irony it was hard to ignore. But you are right, they can't help how they look.

"The fact that their father was touting them as 'royal blood' when they look anything but finely bred was an irony it was hard to ignore"

What does "finely bred" look like though?

They look very much like their dad!

TheLuminaries · 22/06/2017 21:05

I suppose I was thinking of horses - a thoroughbred as opposed to a native pony. Or a saluki rather than a shaggy mutt Grin Really the whole concept of 'breeding'in relation to people is clearly arrant nonsense.

Flisspaps · 22/06/2017 21:09

I like Beatrice and Eugenie, I think Kate dresses much older than her years.

laramara · 22/06/2017 21:35

I think Eugenie and Beatrice try too hard to look Princessy; they lack Zara's confidence in wearing normal clothes yet usually looking dressed appropriately for the occasion, neither do they have Kate's natural good looks. it is staggering as to how much money they must spend on all the very expensive outfits they regularly appear in which somehow always manage to look not quite right

Nettletheelf · 22/06/2017 22:02

Bea and Yooj look tons better than yesterday. Tons. They both look great.

Enough with the carthorse/shaggy mutt stuff. I'm no royalist, but that's a cruel way to describe two young women.

Isn't Kate strongly suspected of having a long standing eating disorder? I wouldn't wish that on girls who look a bit bigger (and better, in my opinion) by comparison.

FreeNiki · 22/06/2017 23:17

Gallumphing carthorses is a bloody horrible thing to say. They aren't models, just young women whose photos are taken and published because of who they are.

Exactly. They can wear what the hell they like too. It is really no ones business and they are not harming anyone.

FreeNiki · 23/06/2017 02:01

They are princesses trying to hitch a ride on their 'royal blood'. Expect they have nothing to offer but poor taste in clothes badly worn.

As opposed to how hard Kate has worked. Sat around waiting to get married.

Want2bSupermum · 23/06/2017 02:30

I've bumped into E&B here in NYC quite a few times. They are not carthorses. They are Home Counties girls.

DoC looks like a mother of two young DC. She needs some more sleep. Clothing wise I think she needs to have a conversation with Liz Hurley. Both have somewhat similar colouring and figures.

FreeNiki · 23/06/2017 02:35

DoC has nannies and housekeepers and cooks and her mummy

If she needs more sleep what does the average mum need Confused

She needs to stop starving herself. She looks ill not tired.

Truckingalong · 23/06/2017 06:52

Liz Hurley looks bloody fantastic but I'm not sure her dress sense is quite right for a member of the monarchy representing the uk on the world stage.

Beatrice and the other one manage to look like a crumpled bag of potatoes tied together in the middle in every single thing they wear. Some people just manage to pull off the effortless polished look and they are not them. It has nothing to do with size either. Camilla isn't tiny but she always manages to look polished.

FitBot · 23/06/2017 09:57

The Queen definitely gets it right.
NO royalist but that is a beautiful picture and happy smile. Lovely.

Ollivander84 · 23/06/2017 10:04

That red dress on Eugenie is stunning, really like the neckline and flared skirt on her

nina2b · 23/06/2017 10:09

Beatrice and Eugenie ARE proper Royal blood, though, unlike Waity or the assorted others. Of course Zara is too and she always looks just right.

nina2b · 23/06/2017 10:14

The horse analogy is totally daft. The thoroughbreds are Beatrice and Eugenie. Waity is a carthorse because she has no royal blood at all.

TheLuminaries · 23/06/2017 10:28

nin2b that is the whole point - it shows how silly the 'royal breeding' nonsense really is Grin

SoupDragon · 23/06/2017 10:33

The horse analogy was to do with shape, not breeding.

nina2b · 23/06/2017 10:35

I realise it is about shape but as a metaphor it does not work. Only the Royal princesses can be described as thoroughbred.

Theycalledmethewildrose · 23/06/2017 11:33

I think Beatrice and Eugenie are very pretty, they have beautiful hair that is much nicer than Kate's hair. They are pretty in a Kirsty Allsop way. But they have terrible taste in clothes.

Kate persists in dressing like Elizabeth Bennett for whatever reason she has in her mind that it is how a duchess should dress. She may as well pop on a bonnet and go the whole hog. I agree with the PP who said she is too thin. She looks far better in the photos of her in uni. I certainly wouldn't go to her for fashion advice!

SoupDragon · 23/06/2017 12:02

Of course it does Confused

MikeUniformMike · 23/06/2017 12:14

TheLuminaries, and I suppose you'd make Kate look quite plain and dumpy would you?

Want2bSupermum · 23/06/2017 12:58

trucking Liz Hurley knows how to dress for the occasion. Her casual clothes are a million times better than what DoC wears. Yes her evening wear shows too much but that is deliberate. She is always well put together in a timeless way.

GrouchyKiwi · 23/06/2017 13:58

Well. This got unpleasant.

Truckingalong · 23/06/2017 13:59

I agree and like I said, she looks fantastic but I still maintain that her style isn't right for waity katy.
