Do you think Kate gets it "right" compare to other royals?

Needless to say its a DM link

Do you think Kate looks the most stylish? I think Sophie looks lovely, great colour and lovely hat. I think Kate has an advantage as she is very slim / toned but not sure if her dress is actually the nicest. I think she also gets all her stuff made to measure / altered so it fits her better.

Bea and Zara's have got very crushed which makes them look less polished. Autumn Phillips looks nice but can only just see her!

Eugenie's is a no from me! too frou frou.

Tge ugly sisters need to sack the stylist. They are not themselves ugly they just dress that way.

diddl · 22/06/2017 13:26

I think that Beatrice & Eugenie are both wearing much nicer dresses than Kate.

I like their hats as well.

Shame neither dress seems to fit quite right.

This was the winner for me

Beatrice must have been dying in that heat, wearing a coat

WipsGlitter · 22/06/2017 16:44

Thursday's dresses

Eugenie has gone for a v neck which is much more flattering - she is so pretty! Zara's needs ironed and her bra is too tight. Bea's is too fussy she should have lost the ribbon on her hair and it's a bit too tight. Sophie looks lovely!

None of them get it right really. Maybe Kate - being tall(er) and thin(ner) looks better in pics. But she's actually too thin in RL and I don't think this looks so good in clothes; it's just that most of us struggle with our weight and we idolise those who are very slim. I say this as a former skinny minnie who struggled to put on weight and wanted too and now her 40s has put some weight on and is now slim not skinny (and all the better for it facially). If I was Kate - or any of the royals I would put some time into my wardrobe - not money - source unusual vintage shops and designers that don't necessarily cost thousands. It's a shame we don't see more Sophie in the papers. Zara Sophie B&E are all really pretty though.

diddl · 22/06/2017 17:18

I think Beatrice would have looked better if her plait was at the back as it & the ribbon are too fussy, but her hair off her face suits her-think that that would have improved things yesterday.

That neckline suits Eugenie a lot better imo.

UsernameInvalid66 · 22/06/2017 17:22

Do they read this thread? They actually commented (briefly) on what Prince Andrew was wearing.

Fluffycloudland77 · 22/06/2017 17:51

I think Kate dresses in such a way as not to become a fashion icon like Diana did.

I don't think she would dress like that if she wasn't Royal, it's all a bit too conservative for a woman her age.

I bet at pippas wedding she wore something much sexier for the evening do.

toffeeboffin · 22/06/2017 18:45

Eugenie looks better in that red dress. Suits her. It's a bit tight though.

Don't like the blue on Beatrice at all. Totally wrong.

Like the Queen's hot pink number.

SoupDragon · 22/06/2017 18:49

I think she has an "official" dress style and an unofficial one.

SoupDragon · 22/06/2017 18:49

(She being Kate)

No idea who this lady is but I LOVE her black dress.

toffeeboffin · 22/06/2017 18:55

Fuck it, copied the main article. Black flowered dress, v neck. She's next to Zara on a couple of the pics.

bumblebee61 · 22/06/2017 18:55

I think Kate is far too thin and dresses like a matron, not a relatively young woman . She has looked very drawn and lined in the past but looks a bit better now. Diana used to dress like a Matron too until she divorced Charles. It's a shame, Kate is beautiful but sometimes she just looks a bit drab. I don't like her white lacey dress. I think Beatrice and Eugenie have no dress sense. They look ridiculous a lot of the time and haven't got great figures IMO. Sophie looked fantastic, but her dress looked hot! As in too thick for the weather. Camilla always looks great, but i am not a fan of her generally.

TheLuminaries · 22/06/2017 19:00

Princesses B&E are beautiful women.

Are you kidding me? It made me laugh when Andrew was throbbing on about them being 'blood princesses'. They look like gallumphing carthorses next to Kate, who resembles a sleek, highly bred thoroughbred.

bumblebee61 · 22/06/2017 19:04

Yes galloping carthorses is about right.

sodablackcurrant · 22/06/2017 19:10

Zara's dress looks great from the side view, full on, not so much, but she doesn't care.

Those pleats in B and E's dresses don't work IMV. But the red dress is much better than yesterday's looks much more comfortable on her, but still a bit on the snug side!

Oh I love gossip. Princess Anne doesn't give a damn either, she looks good though. And doesn't care if a wrinkle or two is showing, nor has she changed her hairstyle for 40 years or so! Good on her, we should take note.

It's like a goldfish bowl. Damned if you do, damned if you don't.

Her Maj always looks brilliant. I love the electric colours she now chooses.

The hat she wore for the speech yesterday was hilarious. EU flag or what!

PickAChew · 22/06/2017 19:19

Kate is petite. It's just plain nasty to start using words like carthorses about women who aren't. I expect their mother has a few things to say about the expectation placed on women to slim down so that they are more pleasing to the eye, even if the effort required dominates your life because you're not naturally petite and you are large breasted.

Though, clearly you aren't sufficiently pleasing to the eye if you're petite, either.

It is possible to talk about how people dress up for an event without starting to get nasty about the bodies those clothes are draped on and the people those bodies belong to.

diddl · 22/06/2017 19:27

Gallumphing carthorses is a bloody horrible thing to say. They aren't models, just young women whose photos are taken and published because of who they are.

SenecaFalls · 22/06/2017 19:34

I agree PickAChew. I also think Eugenie looked especially good in that red dress.

I do love Princess Anne's no-nonsense approach to life and fashion.

LeannePerrins · 22/06/2017 19:37

'ugly sisters'

'galumphing carthorses'

Why go to men for your misogyny when there's plenty RIGHT HERE?

styledilemma · 22/06/2017 19:38

I like Princess Michael of Kent's outfit.
It drapes loosely, suits her and looks just right in that hot weather.

It definitely wasn't a day for tight fitting clothes.

LeannePerrins · 22/06/2017 19:38

YY, that red dress is fabulous on Eugenie today.

TheLuminaries · 22/06/2017 20:34

They aren't models, just young women whose photos are taken and published because of who they are.

They are princesses trying to hitch a ride on their 'royal blood'. Expect they have nothing to offer but poor taste in clothes badly worn. It is not their fault they are not as easy on the eye as Kate, but nobody is making them do the royal stuff.
