My gym's aircon makes it positively chilly - very welcome at this time of year!

Father's Day? What is this of which you speak?

Cloud, what was BG's place like?

Oh, it is a beautiful house which needs £££ spending on it. You park in front of it, and then walk round the back into the gardens. Apparently you can eat in the house, but we had supper in a marquee during the lengthy interval - others had bought a picnic.

The auditorium is finished to the point where they can obviously hold performances, but the breeze blocks and plywood are still v much in evidence! Apparently they still need another £3mill. It was pretty warm on Friday evening, but I bet this weekends temperatures will make it even warmer.

DM is off on Thursday, so will be interesting to compare notes with her. I got the impression that Bamber was there, but didn't see him.

I heard BG talking about it on the radio. It sounded such am amazing project - the first performance was for the workmen (they were all men) who built it and their families.

Sounds amazing. Very tough day here...I slept badly and havent got the headache properly under control til now. It's always tense here when DD has a deadline on an assignment coming up and this was no exception. Whilst I was away, she got hardly anything done and I'm livid with her and with DH for not keeping an eye.

I am doing very badly in the heat....but glad of one of last year's Next linen shifts which is as good as it gets for me in high temperatures. I am also still very delighted with my Earth Spirit sandals and have to admit I have no ankle pain, whilst and after wearing them.

This dress/tunic/top appeared on another thread, and I quite fancy it although for me it's probably a leggings job... pretty

I want you me a those linen shifts, but one with a modicum of shape. So I don't become a boob-diameter lump.

Also need to lose half a stone / and FAST. None of my summer clothes fit, and it's all down to my new and unwelcome belly. Menopause is to blame, no doubt, as well as a spot of wine. And Lindor bars. And peanut butter ice cream products.

These aren't too bad Herbs although in all honesty in these temperatures, I'm past caring whether I'm tent-like or not. Grin ⛺️⛺️

I did very well (ably assisted by MsMargarita) in TK Maxx today, Herbs - two linen dresses and a pair of Poetry linen trousers for a total of 65 quid. They had shedloads of nice linen in good colours I thought, some with silly fripperies but some of those can be cut off. Now I just need sandals - am going to order some of yours, Rose Grin.

I don't do well in heat either. And the poor revisers...have been ferrying cold drinks to ds all day. The comings and goings continue here - we could really do with all four of us sitting down with a diary for the year ahead but I can't see when that will happen as they dart hither and thither. Am desperate to go in the sea - first free day after ds' exams finish and he therefore no longer needs feeding I want to head to the coast.

Well today's S&B challenge - tights or no tights - has been solved by the absence of any in my drawer. I assume they may have been 'borrowed' by dd1 and rehomed in her bedroom. But I can't check as she isn't here so her room is currently occupied by a school friend of dd3 with whom she is going shopping tomorrow. Managing the comings and goings of the normal residents is obviously not a sufficient challenge to the household management in itself!

Maid, I thought of you yesterday when watching the stalwart Beattie Edney in Poldark, who calls everyone Maid. (Me as BE, am sure you are more Demelza!)

NO TIGHTS!!!

Crem my love. Hello there! Good to see you. Is it really as hot where you are. Am melting here... I hate being really hot , or really cold. Call me Goldilocks.

Cremo! Lovely jubbly to see you, been thinking about you. Was it the sweaty tights that got you back?

MrsW, I feel your pain. I feel tough on Comings and Goings, tough on the Causes of Comings and Goings. dd was back for a millisecond (albeit very exciting and happy millisecond) and has wreaked havoc.

29 degrees this lunchtime, and sticky. The men are here attacking the hedge of doom and look like they are half alive. I keep running out with ice cubes and water. Still , lack of hedge means inside the house is twice as bright. < looks at dust wearily>

Dad is doing better after hypoxic collapse. He's Still in hospital. Managing mother's stress is erm, stressful. I'll be dipping in and out.

Crem yay...we need you back. Sorry about DDad and DM...what a stress. Flowers and hugs.

Another atrocious night in my loft sauna. Eventually got to sleep at 2am with the fan running all night. Up at 6 as had to take DM to central London appointment...actually I am doing better for having been in a car, and buildings with AC most of the morning. Confused Home now and bought a dress from oliver bonas
Didn't try on...but they have a 30 day exchange or refund policy.

I have worn so called "cool" tights in hot weather before and been fine, MrsW. But not lately....the thought makes me break out in a worse sweat than I am already in....

Report
MrsWobble3 · 19/06/2017 14:07

Given I spend most of my (working) life in air conditioned offices tights aren't that much of a problem - except when dd1 has taken all but the bobbliest opaques which really aren't an option with a summer dress. I feel slightly undressed with bare legs and flip flops, even if it is cooler on the commute.

I don't think I have ever ordered from Pour Moi..they seem to have some very sexy little numbers on a little google browse....
