Rose - are any of these any good?

IDismyname · 19/07/2017 22:15

Aren't Swatch a Swiss watchmaker??? I have 2 still going strong after years of use.

For smelly stuff I swear by stuff that Sainsbury's sell called Halo.

Kills all known whiffs DEAD.

'Tis been so long since I posted, this fell off my watch list.

Presently in bed with DH who is reading the marketing blurb for his new car as his bed time read. Wtf is it with men?? This one has a Lane Departure Warning. As if I care... Hmm

motherinferior · 19/07/2017 23:07

Mr Inferior's spirit animal, clearly.

I wear my mother's Accurist watch, thus managing to quell questions about its efficiency/cheapness with one look of filial sentiment.

Auriga · 20/07/2017 00:37

Crem. I think you mean micrograms (mcg). That's a reasonable starting dose but should be increased by 12.5-25 mcg every 2-4 weeks. until your TSH comes down to the normal range. Most people need 1.7 - 2.0 mcg/kg/d so I would need 130 mcg.

www.btf-thyroid.org/information/leaflets/29-hypothyroidism-guide I'm sure you'll have seen this.

bigTillyMint · 20/07/2017 07:01

NoCure, I like that watch - even I could read the time on it without my glasses on!

MrsSchadenfreude · 20/07/2017 07:34

That's my watch, NoCure! But mine has a black face.

herbaceous · 20/07/2017 08:20

I've always coveted that 'Swiss station clock' watch! But even that's a bit pricey for me. £25 is about my max.

Having said that I'm now pondering a FatBot, partly to record my 'runs' and partly to account for my ceaseless walking at school...

There isn't one possibility from Swatch here

That Mondaine one meets the criteria for being visible without my glasses certainly but I wanted some bling. That's why I'm so gutted my Swarovski one was so bloody rubbish as I loved how it looked.

I like this one from Kate Spade but despite the price I'm afraid it's just a designer watch and I might run into the same problems. Thanks MrsW. The search goes on.... I am consulting a friend who is a jeweller for advice.

How are you feeling Crem ? Flowers

I am preparing to go off to the flat. Have work meetings this afternoon down there, and then R&R in splendid isolation. Have booked a mango back treatment thingy in local salon.

Rosenspants · 20/07/2017 08:52

Is, not isn't (re Swatch above )

herbaceous · 20/07/2017 09:09

No you were unlucky with the Swarovski watch, rose. Most 'designer', ie Kate Spade, sainsburys or Next, watches use the same standard innards, and I've found them to be perfectly reliable. The extra price is for the fancy name or casing.

OP posts:
herbaceous · 20/07/2017 09:10

Sorry, that was supposed to say 'I think you were unlucky' not 'NO'!

OP posts:
Cremolafoam · 20/07/2017 10:34

How funny I have had that Mondaine watch on my Amazon wish list for yonks. And was going to ask for it for my birthday. red strap.
I haven't had a watch since having a Swatch in the 80's. I gave up wearing them as my body usd to make the wind up movements slow, stop and even go backwards. I imagine. Things are a bit more digital these days, and I am a bit less static.
I do mean micrograms, yes, Auriga. I have just been told that that is my dose, and I'll 'be on it for the rest of my life' hence my annoyance at whole thing. Sorry didn't mean to be a crosspatch yesterday. Finding things a bit stressful.

Anyway, Rose, I hope you have a lovely break at the flat.
I was snurking at Flipflops watching Christina movies in the rain forest.
Flora, just lovely to see you, likewise Airbourne, and you NC.

Herbs, i have several friends who swear by their fitbits, and they look healthy and sleek.Grin

Today mostly hope to be in the garden, a little light Pilates and a couple of forms to fill in. I am still awaiting the return of my driving licence which I was renewing. New rules for diabetic drivers and cataract removal means the support documents have been copious and labyrinthine. Fingers crossed. 🤞🏻

Cremolafoam · 20/07/2017 10:35

Christina -who is she? Christmas 🎄!!!

IDismyname · 20/07/2017 11:14

I like the Swatch version you've found.

bigTillyMint · 20/07/2017 11:15

Oooh I like that one Cremo!

Cremolafoam · 20/07/2017 11:24

Tissot Swiss number

Thanks BTM , I think it's gorgeous. And clearly warrants the strap line: "The Crepey Choice"

Rosenspants · 20/07/2017 12:39

Aaaagh I have only just pulled in for a break. Circumnavigating a fire on one route (my favourite) and hours of delay on the M25 (the much hated alternative) Local knowledge helped me to get around it all but am knackered. Have just stopped for a ploughmans in favourite pub on the road. Sun is now out which is cheering me up.
I have also looked at the Tissot, Crem which I like....it is just missing a bit of crystal embellishment

MrsWobble3 · 20/07/2017 19:32

Posting to get us back on p1. A bit of a nothing day here really.

Cremolafoam · 20/07/2017 20:21

for Rose because I refuse to give up on a quest. Smile Especially when I have parking ticket to appeal (dull)
and a volunteering form to complete.
Ho, hum.

Feel like I have a wardrobe full of clothes and nothing to wear. Also, guilty admission, I have so much makeup and beauty product that I have to get some storage for it all. Blush

herbaceous · 20/07/2017 20:40

I have a wardrobe full of clothes that I can't wear because I am so gargantuanly fat. And as ever can't understand why. Banana + yoghurt smoothie for breakfast; sandwich and fruit for lunch; grilled fish or chicken plus veg and small starch for dinner. Occasional wine in week, occasional small pot rice pudding or handful of nuts. Weekends are bad, though. Run three times a week, walk around a lot at work. WHY LORD WHY.

Cremolafoam · 20/07/2017 20:53

Herbs I don't know. I'm similar. Fatty Mc Fatgut.
Breakfast: berries and a fat &sugar free yogurt
Lunch: salad with ham , mustard, pickled onion. One sad piece of wheat bread or 3 crackers.Fruit usually an apple,
Dinner chicken fish and or vegetables. About 3 baby potatoes. Or a baked medium sweet potato, or strifried veg, or a pita or taco stuffed with avocado and chilli and a tiny bit of cheese.
No alcohol
No fags
And absolutely no fun.
Never stop moving , walk as much as possible, take the hospital stairs ( 5 floors) Pilates twice a week.

I may as well eats bag of chips and a vat of Cherry Garcia. Grrr

IDismyname · 20/07/2017 21:57

I'm working up to Eating Right For My Blood Type. I'm an A, so going back onto some kinds of carbs, tailing off animal protein esp. red meat. Loads of veg. But no potatoes.

When I think about it, it's the kind of stuff I gravitated to as a student and early years of working in London. Im hopefully going to finally get to grips with what I'm eating. The Paleo approach didn't work for me at all. Felt really grim on it.

However, ones summer holiday is not the time to,start! I'm reading up on the whole thing big time, with plans to start moving across when I get home.

hattymattie · 21/07/2017 08:16

I cannot do without carbs - mainly pasta, rice - I get weak and bad tempered without it. I don't usually eat much at lunch though - a couple of slices of toast with cheese or peanut butter and a banana will carry me through.

What should I be eating for type A blood Airborne?

Crem and Herbs - I have never looked at either of you and thought you were fat.

Rosenspants · 21/07/2017 10:03

Crepeys are not fat. We are women of substance. Grin

motherinferior · 21/07/2017 10:13

Women of consequence.
