Would love to meet you in the mountains, Hatty (yodel ayho, yodel) but it's just over a week until I go.

(Can't leave until Tennis is over!!)

IDismyname · 09/07/2017 07:01

Hatty We were having a discussion about it at the MU. I think it was MrsK who was recommending the company, saying that Ocado do some of their stuff. I went home to find a bag of their mini peeled onions in my freezer!

Hope you're feeling better today, Mrs K

motherinferior · 09/07/2017 09:12

Phew. Concert done. Seat of the pants stuff: the music director put in a light-touch organ accompaniment at the last minute to the unaccompanied Latvian and the 13-part (one woman's voice to a part) Latin chant...and most of it worked. Messed up one section of an Italian madrigal. Went to pub and drank large amounts of pink wine afterwards!

Worked out that we were singing in FOUR (4, iv) languages especially with the new composition we added in at the beginning to commemorate the London Bridge attack...

MsMartini · 09/07/2017 09:20

That sounds amazing, MI.

motherinferior · 09/07/2017 09:38

I was shaking after the 13-parter. I have to finish it whatever crashing it's done

Rosenspants · 09/07/2017 13:38

That sounds brilliant Mi and very high brow!
On another matter I am taking a lead out of your book and planning to take my Oliver Bonas dress to the alterations person. I sized up in the end to have a looser fit over the hips, but the top, half is way to big. I am wearing it today but the armholes and bodice are enormous.

Crem I hope today is a better day....we are sitting around doing sod all which I am very much enjoying, after breakfast out. DH and DS2 are going to the U2 gig at Twickers this afternoon. I plan to continue doing very little.

Hatty hope the trip goes well and how lovely to have a chance to MU with MM . Will you be off grid for a bit?

Rosenspants · 09/07/2017 13:39

Lead? leaf I meant...

Cremolafoam · 09/07/2017 15:14

We have been to Asda. Anyone who knows what it's like over the Twelfth in NI will understand that this trip was like a Survival Challenge. Anyway it was a complete smash and grab in there , with whole families buying as if for their lives. Like first day of the January sales in Harrodsburg but with added pointy elbows and Football leisurewear. Godawful.

Now a pile of monumental ironing while it rains. #livingthedream

Rosenspants · 09/07/2017 15:43

Aargh crem 💐

The menfolk have departed for the U2 gig. DD and I are indulging our secret and guilty pleasure... Star Trek....we are up The Search for Spock. Blush Grin

MrsSchadenfreude · 09/07/2017 16:54

I am cooking for 12 people coming for dinner tomorrow night. The kitchen looks like a bomb has hit it (although the food smells good).

MrsSchadenfreude · 09/07/2017 16:54

I think I may have a gin.

herbaceous · 09/07/2017 20:25

Our neighbours are having a BBQ with their neighbours and haven't invited us. Bastards.

IDismyname · 10/07/2017 06:29

Oh I'm sorry, Herbs. I switched on FB to witness yet another local party that we were not invited to, which took place on Saturday night.

We live in a village where a lot of parents with similar aged kids all went to the local primary school together. DS was at the school in the next village, so we weren't part of the 'original' gang.

We used to socialise with most of them quite regularly, but have barely seen most of them since I invited them to supper for my 50th last year. Everyone seemed to have fun...

Can't work out if we've made some terrible kind of faux pas, or DH has royally passed them off.

I see some in passing and they're pleasant enough, but always an excuse not to get together...

Gah! I hate FB. I may step down (again) from it.

Anyway, Herbs - I totally get it Flowers

MsMartini · 10/07/2017 08:57

Oh it is difficult isn't it? We are definitely not on the (very active) local party circuit but as I don't like parties much i know deep down I don't mind. I would mind if close friends shunned me.

Very good Mistral sale haul, crepeys, lovely colours and fabrics I think and properly fitting jeans.

herbaceous · 10/07/2017 09:23

I'm not that upset, really. All three houses were invited to number 44's birthday party, but on,y number 46 could go. They may well have been reciprocating with the Bbq.

Another thing that's odd is when people you consider good friends, and on the same wavelength, are friends with people you struggle to get on with. And when those odd people turn up to nearly every event with the mutual friends. And your heart sinks when you see them...

Rosenspants · 10/07/2017 09:29

Ooh tell me about their jeans, MsMartini...I have only ever bought Mistral dresses (very judiciously, as they can be frumpy on me) before.

Fluffy DH and I have to a certain extent, opted out of our community party circuit...as other Crepeys will know we went through a phase of a lot of big "dos" and they got boring. It's horrid to feel left out though. I have recently seen something on FB which I felt a bit "huh, what about us?" about, but I realised I can't have it both ways... Is there someone you can ask about it all? Or are you happy to just let it go? Flowers

I have unbelieveably put my back out. After 6 years of keeping it at bay by wearing a magnet (in my belief), I am in trouble. Relieved not to have any commitments today as a result. Finding the Ibuleve max strength helps a bit though and not sitting down. But depressed Sad

But nevertheless have cheered self up by ordering some t shirts here, in the green strips and the blue stripe
I am concerned that the ones I ordered from Wrap are on longish back order and won't come in time for when I am going away.

Rosenspants · 10/07/2017 09:31

Herbs makes a good point....we have had to distance ourselves from certain good friends owing to the company they keep Hmm

Cremolafoam · 10/07/2017 12:19

Oh bugger Rose, not another Crepey back collapse. Do you have a strategy that works for you ? Hope it doesn't last too long, poor Rose. Like the t shirts -lovely.take it easy if you can
Am off to look at Mistral sale.

Sorry about #neighbourgate Herbs and AirbourneSad The whole neighbour thing is solved here by not having any neighbours. Just a farmer 👨‍🌾. And 10 minutes with his pro-Brexit chit chat over the hedge is enough thank you. And I suppose my old school friend who is a billionaire down the road counts, but she makes me feel like a leftie pauper so doesn't count.

Am colouring hair and going to a garden centre to get pots today. A move up from Asda and the ironing pile ( which is gone thanks to Dh who took over when Carpal tunnel pain forced me to give up) result!

MsMartini · 10/07/2017 13:49

Oh no Rosen, about back. The jeans are stretch those legs straight jeans in dark denim and on quick try on this morning seemed to fit really well - slim leg not skinny. And the vest tops with plackety things are very nice and good for norkage.

msmargarita · 10/07/2017 18:52

A day with constructive posts around bodices and pls jets is a special day indeed. Must look at mistral.

msmargarita · 10/07/2017 19:02

Plus jets being plackets. Stupid autocorrect

Cremolafoam · 10/07/2017 20:11

Well, have examined Mistral, and am unable to get on with the colours Im afraid. I don't do vague colours as they just tone in with my skin colour and I look somewhat blancmangey. Or germoliney on a good day.WinkGrin
Ms Margarita are you not on hols? Back?
Shopping trip partially successful, in that I bought a couple of rather nice shiny black terracotta pots. I await my replacement DA rose, which thanks to their rather good customer service, is winging its way to me. At about 3pm, I started feeling quite blue, so came home and cuddled a cat. Feeling fat and frumpy and faintly fed up. Sad

MsMartini · 10/07/2017 21:20

Aww, Crem. How are your eyes?

Mistral colours - I really liked the blues and greens.

IDismyname · 10/07/2017 23:04

I was out today and spotted a lady sporting a maxi dress, with tinsey wincy spaghetti straps.

An then a ginormous bright pink bra underneath.

IDismyname · 10/07/2017 23:07

Me and FB are having a break. Again. I am moving on, like I did last time I spotted party containing all local friends.

Not sure who I can ask. Every time I think of someone, it turns out they're part of the clique, too. Maybe that shouldn't matter.

I was bullied a lot at school, so there are certain scenarios that set me off a bit. Being openly excluded is one of them.

I need to man up.
