Thought I'd start a thread for anyone who finds capsule wardrobes in muted tones tedious as feck.

Ditto little diamond studs and designer bags with glossy bobs.

I personally admire the style of Alys Fowler and Helena Bonham-Carter.

Also love a bit of Gudrun/Lagenlook and other cheerful offerings.

A successful charity shop rummage is a joy to behold. I like messy hair, well -loved clothes and making my own stuff too.

Anyone else?

Great watch.

I love colour, in every way shape or form. I am 37 and have given up trying to be grown up. I collect irregular choice shoes and decided to decorate my living room around my display unit. I dress in the same colours you see here :)

I completely covet every item of clothing Sharon Horgan wears in Catastrophe. How she manages to pull off all those prints and colours I will never know.

WannabeHippyChick · 21/04/2017 14:43

FP239 What a gorgeous room! Looks super cosy & comfortable! I love your comment about giving up trying to be grown-up. I often wonder when I'll feel grown-up, everyone else seems so grown-up... I'm 48, so maybe I should just embrace my inner not-grown-up? x

I just saw a link on Facebook to one of the skirts from this etsy shop, and naturally I thought of this thread.

Broomstick, I hovered around those boots for ages, unable to decide but they were a great purchase. Highly recommended if you do come across a pair in your size!

BroomstickOfLove · 21/04/2017 17:51

If we're sharing watch pictures, mine actually is quite dainty.

I'm 32. Am I too old to wear dungarees?

BroomstickOfLove · 21/04/2017 18:11

Of course not.

gottaloveascamhun · 21/04/2017 18:18

Thanks Broomstick I'm watching some on ebay!

Zxyzoey31 · 21/04/2017 18:25

Re tights try the white stuff website, lots of colours in the sale section. The reviews say they come up big.

auberginesrus · 21/04/2017 21:26

Also enjoying this thread, as I much prefer a quirky look myself, although as a short round person couldn't pull off Lagenlook. I need a nipped in waist and like vintage style, bright colours and prints. I tend to wear a lot of navy and black for work but jazz it up with bright cardigans and chunky jewellery (I'm a senior manager in the civil service). One of my favourite recent buys is a Hobbs cardigan secondhand on eBay - it's dark grey with multicoloured spots on it. I also like Oliver Bonas for interesting jewellery- their clothes are nice too but quite expensive and a bit small for me.

auberginesrus · 21/04/2017 21:29

Also thanks for the tip re white stuff tights - unfortunately a dress, necklace and pair of shoes also fell into my basket Blush
(Luckily all sale bargains)

JacobFryesTopHatLackey · 22/04/2017 10:08

broomstick i have one too. Actually a few. I sewed one just like youes to a waistcoast for DS1 to make a Sherlock costume for WBD.

FP that room is amazing. So vibrant and the focal point shoes Grin

I know Vivienne Westwood has been mentioned but does anyone like a bit of McQueen www.instagram.com/p/BTLgIVSjo0J/

Floisme · 22/04/2017 17:45

Yeah I've been into Vivienne Westwood since I was 19 or 20 so we go back a long way, but Mcqueen was pretty special too. I have a thing for tailoring as well as for high drama and he was amazing at both.

(Although personally I could have lived without the bumsters - and the 10 years of comedy trousers that followed!)

BroomstickOfLove · 22/04/2017 18:41

New boots. I love them, and the leather is soft!

I love the above watches...not something I would wear but can admire from afar IYSWIM...

Ive just bought this Swatch its quite big and has the advantage the colour will match whatever I'm wearing Grin

JacobFryesTopHatLackey · 23/04/2017 11:04

I had to look up what bumsters were.

broomsticks they are lovely. Are you wearing them folded down?

oldraver very cheerful Smile

If anyone is interested Im having a clear out and would like to pass on this jacket to a good home. Its a beautiful cut and colour but just doesnt hang right on me. Size 8 but would fit a 10.

That's beautiful Jacob. I love a good jacket so I've had a good look at it. Smile I think that with the studs and the brocade there's a bit too much going on for me personally - I'm short and have to be careful. But I really love the shape - hope you find a good home for it.

boldlygoingsomewhere · 23/04/2017 14:27

That's a lovely jacket, Jacob. If it was a size bigger, I'd definitely go for it. Smile

RemusLupinsBiggestGroupie · 23/04/2017 16:18

Gorgeous jacket, but I'm too fat for it. :{

ChoccyJules · 23/04/2017 23:33

Another one who has found her people Grin
My Fly Mes2 boots (chocolate patent) have died after 3.5 years of constant use and I can't find any in a good colour (am liking petrol) in a 41. So have been investigating DMs but ever so scared of all the wearing-in etc. Am I being a wuss?
Need flat boots and want comfy, calf-length. Tricky as the season is now all about sandals and posh trainers. Any other brands to look at?

VI0LET · 23/04/2017 23:45

Great thread, thanks for starting it OP.

NevermetaGilesIlike · 24/04/2017 08:53

Choc have a look at Art Company and Oxygen. The Buttero DMs are supposed to be easier to break in.

I also like Pozu and Loints of Holland.
