Dh wants to buy me a gift and I'm not sure what I want . I quite like the mulberry Freya . I have an Antony already and I like it . I fancy something a bit more handbaggy.

Armani what was the park bench was? I vaguely remember it, did someone suggest the OP should buy a bench instead of a handbag?

Yeah 😂. Op had an inheritance, wanted to get a classic bag with the money. A memorial park bench was suggested as a much better way of spending the cash.

I got a Freya

HammersWidow · 25/12/2016 13:00

It's ❤️️❤️️

InglouriousBasterd · 25/12/2016 13:11

I was coming on to recommend a bench but I've been beaten to it Xmas Grin

They all look lovely. Go with the one that you can't get out of your mind and enjoy using it everyday!

Talisin · 25/12/2016 13:50

That is gorgeous, Hammers. If I ever have the budget again that's deffo the Mulberry I'd go for.

imjessie · 25/12/2016 13:53

Are you pleased with your Freya ? Is it the big or small one ?

While expensive handbags aren't my thing, I wish people would read the OP's posts before posting.

I hope you find something you like imjessie

HammersWidow · 25/12/2016 14:50

Oh it's lovely! Structured but not overly so.

HammersWidow · 25/12/2016 14:50

Sorry it's the small one

imjessie · 25/12/2016 17:40

Thank you nickname

I scratched the Mulberry itch about 4 yeard ago with an oak Bayswater but have been disappointed because the piping wore through at the corner after a year and I haven't ponied up 100 quid for a repair yet.

I'd probably have a Phillip Lim Pashli:

Louis vuitton neverfull in damier azur or ebene rather than monogram;

Louis vuitton kensington

Saint laurent tote

Chanel wallet on chain (woc)

Jjacobb · 25/12/2016 18:45

I've just bought the Mulberry Bayswater zipped in oxblood. It is beautiful and hopefully will last a lifetime and be passed down to my DD.

SimplyNigella · 25/12/2016 19:06

Sorry you've had so many snidey responses, there's really no need.

I love the Freya and the Camden, both lovely choices. Does the Mulberry sale still start Boxing Day? I had to cull my habit post-DS as my handbag money now goes on nursery fees and nappies, but I still have a decent collection which are look fab despite being up to 10 years old.

That said, I've just ordered a Vivienne Westwood Vivienne's Bag in the sale which I'm really chuffed with. Actually, I've ordered two as I couldn't decide on the colour but still definitely only be keeping one.

imjessie · 25/12/2016 19:08

www.brandalley.co.uk/15243662.html Philip Lim on brandalley if anyone is interested

DH gave me this Coach bag for Christmas - not as ££ as Mulberry, but I do think Coach is under-rated and great quality for the money.

And no, I'm not going to suggest you spend the change on a holiday. Xmas Wink

Longislandicetee · 25/12/2016 19:21

OP, I don't own the Freya but it looks like a lovely bag. What I would say is that Mulberry bags can be quite heavy so test before you buy. If the Freya is heavy and you're a weed like me, it might not be for you!!

If you like the bucket bag, then you might want to consider the Smythson version. Stunning quality and understated. If you look below £800 then Aspinal do a lovely hobo bag, as do Coach and both are lovely quality.

Sorry for being lazy and not linking!! Xmas Smile

NameChanger22 · 25/12/2016 19:22

I'd spend just over 100 pounds on an Irregular Choice bag and the rest on a nice little holiday.

Aderyn2016 · 25/12/2016 19:23

Cointreau, I have that bag in a cream/off white colour. I love it.

dangerrabbit · 25/12/2016 19:29

If money was no object I'd like a Hermes Birkin.

HmmmHashtag · 25/12/2016 20:19

If you are dead set on a hobo style, leave a bit in your budget for a liner, as they can be almost TOO slouchy, especially the softer Mulberry leathers!
Just Googled 'Gucci hobo bags' and oh my... Some real beauties but all seem to be over £1k, sadly Xmas Shock

littleredpear · 25/12/2016 20:41

I have a Bayswater. It's had a lot of use, chocolate brown. I also have a Tessie but I'm not fussed about it.

I have a Givenchy Antigona tote -£1000 from a Brand Alley sale. It's a medium but it's a bloody heavy. It gets a lot of love from others when it's out and about.

My LV never full has been awesome. As too my Kate Spade - it's bright green.

Gucci bamboo daily is on my hitlist. I also fancy an Anya Hindmarch bag.

Liberty have done awesome initial bags but there are not an investment. Just fun Grin

Happy shopping OP. Sod the bench,

Sammysquiz · 25/12/2016 21:12

Why would you post on a thread about a bag & say you should spend it on a holiday? It's like someone asking which car they should buy & me posting they should buy a sofa instead.

OP - I'd go for a Mulberry. Lucky you, enjoy your new bag whatever you go for!

Merriboo · 25/12/2016 21:24

imjessie have you considered the medium lily in croc oxblood ?

hollyisalovelyname · 25/12/2016 21:24

LV Neverfull in the medium size is a great buy.
But it hasn't got a zip so is a pickpocket 'a dream Smile
