Are you ok frugal? Hope things better today. Weather grim here so hiding in house eating!
It's a good question but I need to find a way to unwind healthily. I love your idea em can I come round? I'm currently trying to avoid the wine and tv route but not much luck. I should be more creative but never do it. I'm also nursing a hangover so excuse random message last night!

Thanks for recommendation mrsd. My hairdresser doesn't stock it but will try city.
needsa that is a win. I never leave JL beauty hall empty handed!

FiveShelties · 28/01/2017 22:06

One tiny Norwegian Formula Hand Cream gone. only 14 grams but has been in my handbag for ages. Has been replaced with a No 7 one so athough I would repurchase I will not....... yet.

Have lots and lots of stuff to go and only three months left so I am going to make a huge effort to use stuff up and an even larger effort to not buy anything else.

Have a good week-end everyone.

70isaLimitNotaTarget · 28/01/2017 22:38

Seeing a recommendation for "Wen" upthread....

They sell it on QVC (and its hugely popular on QVC USA, they sell gallon bottles of it Shock )
Most of the negitive reviews aren't using the product correctly, it needs to go onto soaked hair, my length (Pixie) would need 6-8 pumps, then another 4 for the next wash then half to style, so it doesn't seem such good value but, reviewers say their hair stays cleaner longer, no need to wash daily or even 2/3 days.

There is a Superdrug version though shampoo/conditioner (much smaller bottle) which is okay .

Used up:
250ml of Aveda Shampure
Lush Snow Fairy

Added to the box (its in one box now not 4) 3 bottles of Waitrose Shower gel (£1.50 each on a 3 for 2)

FreeButtonBee · 29/01/2017 09:38

Travel sized batiste dry shampoo in original done.

Had to throw out a bioderma sample moisturiser that had gone yucky.
May actually need to buy shampoo as the last full size bottle in the stash is not doing much good to my hair. Two hotel minis to use up and then I can buy something.

Feeling much better today after a hot toddy and a dose of night nurse (DH being on overnight and early morning duty worth the kids).

MrsDilligaf · 29/01/2017 10:39

Waves to 70

I really liked WEN and have got another bottle i the stash, but when I was hunting for a link up popped a load of lawsuit stuff. To be honest, I didn't even look at it should have done really

But you are right...I went a week A WEEK before I needed to wash my hair.

FrustratedFrugal · 29/01/2017 11:24

Thanks for your kind messages - I loved your ideas Em. I love cooking too and I even have a tortilla press Shock Actually, I should invite some friends - I often do a blini party in February.

My reality is much closer to PinkiePie's though. Wine and TV are a winning combination Wink - but I'm still on the Dry Jan wagon and DH and DD were watching Titanic so I had no access to the big screen. So I went for a walk (cut short by grim weather), found a good book, had a nice tisane, went to bed early and slept for almost nine hours

ememem84 · 29/01/2017 12:06

frugal sounds blissful.

I snagged the hotel toiletries yesterday. L'occitaine lemon verbena conditioner shower gel soap and shampoo. For my bathroom jar.

Am almost done with the heel cream. Once it's done will crack on with the soap and glory one.

Needastrongone · 29/01/2017 23:35

I've no empties to report, but I am getting on very well with Aussie Shampoo 'Colour Mate' Shampoo and Conditioner. I have dry/frizzy and curly hair that is coloured and I straighten. 2 washes so far, my hair is lovely, very soft and straightens easily.

It's hardly a high end product so I am pleased with this little find.

SpartacusWoman · 30/01/2017 14:01

Saturday afternoon I spent washing all my make up brushes. I know I hadn't used a good half of them since I last washed them but they felt a bit weird, probably dusty lol, so I washed them all. Took photo but it's on my phone which is Acting up and refusing to charge...

I have too many, I thought I was being smart in trying to have a few similar ones in rotation for when one lot is drying but I'm lazy and with most of my stuff, I tend to reach for the same brushes over and over and don't wash them as much as I should.

I ordered a set of real techniques for a friends dd in eBay, I to,d her they'd be fake as they were only £6.99 for the Niks picks set, and that I paid way way more for mine but she wasn't fussed. They arrived on Saturday and I they are actually great quality, I actually prefer the cheaper version of the multi task brush as its much nicer than my genuine one. I won't order any for myself though as they'll fall apart after one use or something. Too good to be true and all that.

Outing myself as a weirdo but I like tickling my face with a nice clean make up brush. I said to dh that if I was mega rich instead of paying someone to feed me grapes while I laid about, they'd be tickling my face with a make up brush Blush

My collection concealer has arrived today, but my skin is shit and cheeks very very dry so am not wearing anything than moisturiser until it's gone, I think it might be Benefits dandelion that's dried me out. :(

DragonNoodleCake · 30/01/2017 15:10

Grinat spartacas

kwick · 30/01/2017 17:35

spartacus I generally use the same brushes again and again despite planning on sharing the love a bit more.

Best brush I have ever bought: Bare Minerals foundation brush.

Have any of you lovely ladies delved into the world of The Ordinary? I have promised myself a go once my stash has gone Grin

Not been here for a while - hello all again.

I've just finished clarins multi active day cream - bit sad about this as I really liked but have approx a million more to finish before I can repurchase including a whopppng massive tub (125ml) of Khiels ultra facial cream which I can't even seem to make a dent in

Also finished the obligatory Baylis and Harding Christmas set stuff

Also very intrigued by The Ordinary - have it on my wish list

woodhill · 30/01/2017 17:54

Finished a full size conditioner and an eye gel this week.

FrustratedFrugal · 30/01/2017 18:34

No The Ordinary here, but I have lots of Korean products and hyaluronic acid products usually suit my skin. I'm pretty conservative, daily sunscreen, occasional acids and a light serum seem enough. I might try Vitamin C and retinoids in the future, but they seem pretty hardcore...

No empties here, just a good busy day wearing NYX Matte Bloody Mary lipstick. We saw La La Land last night, it was great, and went to a concert today.

kwick · 30/01/2017 19:47

Which flavour of B&H did you fall for moo?

Wow frustrated very busy social life!!

Are Retinoids safe during pregnancy Hmm not sure why I have got it in my head they are not...

AnotherPinkiePieStory · 30/01/2017 20:18

spartacus a weird fetish is a thing to treasure Wink
kwick I too have the ordinary on my try list when I finish some more (about 2020!) really intrigued. I've got niod photography liquid and it's amazing. Maybe even life changing.

Hi moogle nice work on B&H. They go on forever!
Send me your tips woodhill I have had my current conditioner for a year!!!! Argh curse my bobbed hair!

I've (well DC but I'm claiming) finished a booberry shower gel as my DD says. Lovely but still got Star Wars and peppa pig to go till they get a nicer scented one!
You make me all smile after a Confused day. Thanks

FrustratedFrugal · 30/01/2017 20:31

Retinoids are a no-no during pregnancy, used orally they can cause terrible malformations (some explained here) and I would not use them topically either. They are, however, brilliant for a lot of skin issues when you are using good contraception and not ttc.

kwick · 30/01/2017 20:33

Oh my God another life changing??? Get me some of that!!!
Sorry your day was not great.

OP posts:
FrustratedFrugal · 30/01/2017 20:33

Dud link, let's try again.

FrustratedFrugal · 30/01/2017 20:34

Life changing?

kwick · 30/01/2017 20:40

Thanks frustrated I will stay away - but it looks like salcylic acid is a no no too 😭

OP posts:
FrustratedFrugal · 30/01/2017 20:54

Kwick this is highly individual-specific but my skin looked fab - glowy not sweaty - when I was pregnant and I needed absolutely nothing. Let's hope that happens to you too 😘

pepperrabbit · 30/01/2017 21:32

I'm not convinced I'm going to finish my Aveeno after shower oil mist thing, I quite like it but it makes the bathroom floor so slippery that I'm worried it may kill DH inadvertently. I like DH more than I like the moisturiser!
I do like the almond oil lotion one they do, not as heavy as the traditional cream.
No empties, sigh.
I just signed the survey for testers for the bare minerals gel tinted moisturiser which is pinned at the top of active convos - it can't count as adding to your hoard if someone gives it to you to test surely Grin

AnotherPinkiePieStory · 30/01/2017 21:38

Yes amazing guys. Makes me flawless and works under make up too. Thanks kwick

Giggling at thought of having to rate DH alongside some of my hoard! Photography fluid is very good but I reckon DH is safe for now. He bought me a peanut butter kit Kat!

AnotherPinkiePieStory · 30/01/2017 21:40
