Continuing the great work achieved in previous threads - come join us and rejoice in the joy of using (up) beauty products Grin

I'd use a lip gloss from my mum or a reasonably close friend. But I know people have very varied views on this sort of stuff so I'd just ask her if she'd like them or not I think.
I'm giving a friend's daughter a load of nail varnishes but I think that's a bit different in the hygiene stakes...

I've nearly finished my dragons blood mini but I'm having a rest from it at the moment for a few days, my skin has gone horribly flaky after a bad cold and I'm desperately trying to repair it. Not really winning though if I'm honest!
I did get ID'd today for the first time in many years so something I'm using must be working Grin

Needastrongone · 26/01/2017 14:41

Hope your DD is okay Dragon.

Big stash Can't Smile

I've got both Nuxe day creams Frugal, from Birchbox and advent box. One is particularly wonderful, but I can't remember which one, I'll post later.

No empties to offer, but started a Night cream from Christmas last night, which is lovely.

It's my birthday today, so I have loads of new smellies.

And DH has come back from another business trip and bought me Tom Ford Neroli Portofino Acqua which is er, very expensive. DH is ace. Grin

MrsDilligaf · 26/01/2017 14:48

Er....which one of you infiltrated my dreams last night?!?

I was in a Yves Rocher shop and a lady came in and said she had £2,000 to spend and did I want to help her I said yes I was most impressed that they took us into a consultation room where we drank champagne and ate macarons.

I'm guessing that this doesn't actually happen in the real shops?

Grin
CantChoose · 26/01/2017 15:30

dilligaf never anywhere I've been but if you find out where it does please let me know!!
I'm going for scent profiling at penghaligons tomorrow (was a Christmas present - including a scent of my choice) which is exciting but a little daunting at the same time. I hope there is champagne and macarons but I doubt it!
Happy birthday need! It's my DHs birthday today, his 30th. So we have booked today and tomorrow off.

kwick · 26/01/2017 16:46

Dragon sorry work is very busy at the moment. I remember when I used to work for M&S many moons ago most of my wages went on buying their stuff... very hard when the temptation is right there in your face everyday!!!!

I am jealous of your lists - I wish I could say I had found some definitive beauty finds.... the only product I keep going back to is the Bioderma Sensibo micellar water but otherwise I flitter about...

Dragon that accident sounds nasty! Did she need stitches?

Ladies I HATE to rain on your parade but Collection Concealer (like most on the market) contains cyclopentaxisloxane - which is a volatile silicone which amongst other things can impact fertility. This may not be a concern for you but thought you should know.

Needs your DH is amazeballs!
Happy Birthday!!!!!

mrsd did the lady have dark brown hair and glasses? Then it was me!!!! Sounds like an ace dream!

I may be going early to my Boots eye appointment to get some retail therapy in

kwick do you tend to stick to certain brands that you trust not to contain harmful ingredients or do you always check everything you buy? Just curious - I think I'm too lazy to check :/ (don't need to think about it anyway as I never need to buy beauty products ever again, of course!)

FrustratedFrugal · 26/01/2017 17:55

Oohh I love how busy this thread is!
I'm knackered - a mega busy day at work, DD's birthday, and I still have a long to-do list.

But I just came to comment on the Yves Rocher dream 😂😂😂
I'm sure they'd do it just for you... they are French it would be really good
and whatever you chose to have would keep this thread going for a long time
But can I please have that dream tonight!

kwick · 26/01/2017 18:48

cant I read the ingredients of EVERYTHING!!!! Probably why I needed a new pair of glasses! 🤓

Some items I know contain it:

  • Body Shop body butters
  • most of their foundations
  • all Rimmel foundations
-Benefits pore professional
  • No7 protect and perfect range
  • most hair serums
  • Garnier body cream - red bottle
  • some deoderants
  • Morroccan hair oil

IT IS FRICKING EVERYWHERE!!!

So I only bought essentials in Boots (tissues, panty liners, indigestion tablets, chewing gum) - good job as spent over £500 on glasses!!! Two pairs which have to last me the rest of my life!!!!!

I have an empty!
Kiko nourishing perfection cream compact foundation CR15 spf 20 - really liked this - easy and quick to apply. Have 1 in stash BUT FIRST going to try a different Kiko foundation - have 5 to choose from Blush

CantChoose · 26/01/2017 20:53

Oh dear :/ I've just bought porefessional to try (wasn't planning on confessing to this purchase Grin) and I often have body shop body butter.
I'll have to do some reading to see if I still want to use them!

AnotherPinkiePieStory · 26/01/2017 21:42

dragon hope DD has recovered.
kwick I did same. Contact lens check and spent £60 in boots! Would have been more too but they were running late.
But wow nyx lingerie liquid lip is amazing. Put on at 2.30pm, eaten 2 meals, played netball, Pokémon go walk, kissed DC and husband, coffee and tea and still going strong. Very 90's brown but love it and will need to be restrained from all of line.
Keep us posted on Kiko foundation too. I didn't like mat one and can't decide on universal fit.

Also bought 4 mini shampoos as couldn't decide and didn't want months of one I didn't like. And badedas bubble bath. None in stash. And CC cream and micellar water. I have nearly run out!

cant your treat day sounds amazing. Let us know how it goes.

spartacus are you Caroline hirons? I remember from her 'in the bathroom with' she had epic numbers of glosses. Amazing collection. Yeah pass on. I'd wear a good friends cast off I think although would clean brush well first!

Love the dream mrsd

ememem84 · 26/01/2017 22:12

Opened a soap and glory hand cream earlier (I have jo Malone in the bathroom) but needed something a bit more substantial.

No empties here. Am still working on a heel cream.

kwick · 27/01/2017 05:48

My fricking toilet is broken... have had to turn off water supply to it to stop flooding whilst I am away today...

New shampoo and conditioner for oily hair definitely not working! Hair feels like I have not washed it in a year - not an hour ago!!

One empty here - cocoa body butter from BS mini, lovely product

I may want to use my products but DH has started using my White co shower gel for bubble bath so will purchase him something for his baths.

dysongirl · 27/01/2017 11:47

Doublewear foundation anyone put an age on when it doesnt work as well anymore
Im 45

dogdaydisaster · 27/01/2017 12:54

Hello all. Jumping in after a while to log a few empties. I finished the caudalie grape water spray which feels lovely, but not sure what it actually does. And also used up a Molton Brown rhubarb and rose shower gel which was really lovely.

Hope everyone is well, have a good day

DragonNoodleCake · 27/01/2017 18:07

You lot are amazing! Thanks for asking about DD2 it's healing well and no stitches required Grin

Today's disaster in the dragonnoodle house is Jaffa the cat peeing blood everywhere!
Emergency vet visit, two injections and medicine -£ 80 fees later and thankfully he is not peeing blood just now!!

CantChoose · 27/01/2017 18:18

Oh. My. God. Penhaligons was amazing! I know it's not in the spirit of the thread but I would 100% recommend it to any of you if you can get to London and are feeling flush. We had to put extra money in because we both loved the new super-expensive ones, typical :/ But I feel like I could happily eBay all my old scents. The scent profiler lady must be some kind of a witch, she asked lots of seemingly unfragrancy questions and absolutely nailed it with the first two scents she gave me. Exactly the same with DH. So we got one each with our vouchers and have another on our wish lists! AND there was champagne dilligaf! I had tea instead as I was a smidge tipsy from lunch...

CantChoose · 27/01/2017 18:18

Oh Dragon! I think you're due a change of luck! Glad both DD and the cat seem to have been repaired successfully! X

Whattodowithaminute · 27/01/2017 19:28

After some new year sorting today I think I may have realised that this is my spiritual home, so many beauty products stashed everywhere overwhelming volumes.... need to start the use up. Did finish a Ren facial moisturiser today. After my product evaluation I have concluded I need to add daily eye cream to my regime and probably some make up too...

kwick · 27/01/2017 19:39

Welcome newbies!!

dragon sounds awful!!! Poor you and poor kittycat!
