Slowing down here after a good run. Nothing to report this week. I am very tired and grumpy from all the DC waking one after another for weeks on end for no good reason. Tired tired tired.

AlfaMummy · 22/01/2017 20:45

A couple of empties and lots of almost-empty empties from me. I've finished an Aveda Daily Damage Remedy which I love and need for my highlighted hair. Along with my Liz Earle hair oil it massively helps to keep my hair from looking and feeling dry. Also finished is my Caudalie Divin Perfum. I liked this but just didn't love it enough to repurchase. In fact, I liked the bottle more than what was inside... I'm hoping this coming week will be a bumper empties week, so many lotions and potions are almost used up, can't wait to start replacing from The Stash.

MrsDilligaf · 22/01/2017 21:47

No empties to report but I was soooo good yesterday. I walked straight past the Body Shop outlet at Hatfield Galleria.

I did not go in. I did glance in the shop, sighed with longing, but decided that if I went in I would have to buy a gazillion body butters which I would never get round to using and I marched swiftly onwards.

I did have to have a vanilla sugar pretzel to cheer myself up though.

ememem84 · 22/01/2017 22:00

mrs oooh soft pretzels. Yummy. My faves are cinnamon sugar. Mmm

I'm working to finish a heel cream (boots hard skin reducer one) before I make a start on The soap and glory one.

Am also working to use up my frizz ease and my clarins cleansing gel. With a bit of luck I only have less than 2 weeks left of both.

Dug out a bodyshop grapefruit body butter today. It's half used so will work to see this one off.

MotherofPearl · 22/01/2017 22:02

Good work with the empties and also temptation-resistance everyone!

Just one empty here, a Clinique pressed powder, not very exciting. I hit pan ages ago but the edgy bits seemed to go on forever.

Kwick, I agree about Clinique Rinse-off Foaming Cleanser being harsh. I used it a lot when I was younger but now I find I need something creamier that doesn't lather. I like the sound of the Emma Hardie one Needsastrongone mentioned.

DragonNoodleCake · 22/01/2017 22:13

Out with DH in Glasgow tonight - just seen Seth Lakeman. Awesome!!!!!!

Had my brows and LVL lashes done yesterday - I'm happy with them! Dunno if you can see in this picture.

I also experimented with a deep blue eyeliner and a PINK!! lip, what do you think??

DragonNoodleCake · 22/01/2017 22:15

I finished a Redken All Soft hair oil tonight getting ready - but it's a staple so I have a couple more in the stash.

MrsDilligaf · 22/01/2017 22:19

I also agree re Clinique rinse off foaming cleanser. I like to wash cleansers off with a hot cloth (was doing it waaaay before Liz Earle) and I tried it again not so long ago. It felt really drying on my skin and almost like I'd washed with an old style soap.

I took it back and got a refund and this is why I love it when they give you samples and sachets for you to try because it is such a pain taking stuff back if it doesn't suit or you end up with a HUGE stash

MotherofPearl · 22/01/2017 22:23

Ooooh, Dragon I love that lip colour! Really suits you.

TheLovelyLinda · 22/01/2017 22:26

Unashamedly place-marking here, ladies!Smile

A beauty product junkie, with over 70+ nail varnishes and have now discovered the wonderment of gel nails.

Now looking for an amazing mascara - any suggestions, please?

pepperrabbit · 23/01/2017 12:31

I have 2 empties Smile my Eve Taylor Facial Cleanser and a 500ml Soap & Glory shower gel. I'm trying to decide whether to rattle through the advent calendar goodies or start a big Bayliss & Harding Christmas present next.
I'm liking the pink on you dragon. Smile

DragonNoodleCake · 23/01/2017 12:56

Linda hello, I have heartily recommended Lancôme hypnose mascara on here many times.

I haven't counted the nail polishes I too must have 70+

You are in good company on this thread!

DragonNoodleCake · 23/01/2017 12:56

Pepper I'd say start on the biggies!!

DragonNoodleCake · 23/01/2017 12:57

Feeling very proud of myself, DH and I stayed at a doubletree Hilton last night and I did not pick up any minis at all!!!

FrustratedFrugal · 23/01/2017 14:16

Dragon you look great, pinks really work with your coloring and I love how natural yet effective the lashes are! And well done not hoarding toiletries!

Kwick thanks for your compliment, I've struggled with my skin all my adult life (acne/redness-type rosacea/perioral eczema) and only recently things have gotten better. I got rid of jawline acne when I stopped using moisturizers and liquid foundation. My skin is fairly normal, not super dry, and even in deep midwinter I only use a couple of glycolic pads per week and a light serum every morning (right now, Missha purple ampole, a cheaper copy of Estee Lauder's Advanced Night Repair) under compact foundation. Less is more! And my legs really enjoy hoarded face creams Wink

Needastrongone · 23/01/2017 15:34

Dragon You look lovely.

Linda I love Clinique lash power mascara. It's not waterproof, but long lasting.

I'm glad there are more than just me that uses products for different purposes than that which they are intended, I find that oddly reassuring.

MotherofPearl The Emma Hardie balm uses the hot cloth system. I must admit I use the balm/cloth in the evenings and just the hot cloth inn the morning. It's really lovely. But not cheap.

No empties. The Tom Ford perfume goes on and on.

I also have a discovery from my Birchbox that is lovely. A concealer by Lord and Berry. Not claggy and seems to last well so far, and I am a bit oily round the eye area.

Lastly, took delivery last week of the MN famed Laura Mercier flawless finish tinted moisturiser. Wonderful. With the caveat that I only like a very light coverage.

AnotherPinkiePieStory · 23/01/2017 16:35

I hang my head in shame.

Spent in Kiko (awesome plum lip set in sale, coral lipliner and turquoise eyeliner) and an eBay purchase of my fave discontinued shower things. Nothing really needed and was doing so well at no spend Jan. Then busy work, pending job interviews and an hour to myself.

And no empties! Jeezo I need your willpower mrs and frugal.
Welcome Linda share your confessions with us! I recommend Guerlain mascara. No idea which one but will look when home. Got a free sample and it's really lengthening and dark. My eyes are irritated at the moment but still no smudging.

dragon another fierce look. Hope you had a good night away. No idea when DH and I last had one but now much needed!

needa love that tinted moisturiser. On my list!

applesandpears33 · 23/01/2017 18:11

Finally I have an empty - an ancient Body Shop toner that I bought years ago. This thread is making me use up the lotions and potions that I've had for years rather than buying new ones. Also used up a Clinique sample of face powder. That's seven products finished since late December.

FrustratedFrugal · 23/01/2017 18:15

Envying your Kiko splurge PinkiePie, sounds fab - I love their stuff, thank god they are not near me!!!

kwick · 23/01/2017 19:13

mrs you are so strong!!!! I love those sugary pretzels- did you get a cinnamon one?

You look lovely dragon

frustrated it is great that you know your skin so well. I feel like a twat that I still have blackheads at 42!

Oooo need which Tom Ford perfume do you have? I always spray liberally with Portofino (I think that is what it is called) when I go through Duty Free.

OP posts:
MrsDilligaf · 23/01/2017 19:26

Ha ha blackheads! I have those too....and I LOVE using those pore cleansing strips. The only thing which is just as satisfying as peeling one of those off is peeling PVA glue out of craft pots!

ememem84 · 23/01/2017 20:10

Who was after mascara's?

My faves are:

Bourjous glam curl
Ysl babydoll
No7 black/brown false lash

Needastrongone · 23/01/2017 20:16

Kwick I would like to say that I have just one Tom Ford, but I have about 6 I think..... I know, they are ££££££ but DH does travel a lot for business. My favourite is still the first one he bought me, Azure Lime. Then Venetian Bergamont. The rest are the less expensive ones (all in context with TF!!). I love Portofino too.

kwick · 23/01/2017 21:06

mrs have you tried activated charcoal mixed with PVA glue? I sometimes watch You Tube videos of this mask being pulled off because I am strange
I love those strips too - I aways go back to the Biore ones - which ones are your favourites?

You are one lucky lady need!!!

I'd like to add another vote for Lancôme hypnose mascara. I'm using a Chanel one I got for Christmas at the moment. It's lovely looking but very flaky. I will go back to Lancôme once it's done.

So glad I'm not the only one with a fondness for blackhead strips - I've left two out on the bathroom shelf to remind me to do one tonight. DH will do one with me. We usually compare!
