Kwik, that's brilliant news. Congratulations!
No empties to report, but came out of Westfield with only my pre-planned MAC foundation, so feeling a bit virtuous.

FrustratedFrugal · 02/01/2017 20:11

I'm not sure what currency we use but I am sure the exchange rate is exceptional: you gain from each transaction Wink

Another empty here, a mini Lumene Moisture Dream cleanser cut open and scooped clean.

CantChoose · 02/01/2017 20:37

Day was much less stressful than anticipated kwik, thank you, though back later than planned so just about to start cooking dinner. And remembered I have work to do by tomorrow, oops, so might have to delay the pampering.
Love the idea of shopping from stash, I think I'm going to keep only a few items out at one time so then when I do dip into the stash it feels like a shopping adventure!

woodhill · 02/01/2017 20:41

I went to TK max and bought an Organic Surge hot cloth cleanser. I've nearly used this up and really like it.

I've got a Rodial stem cell cleanser to use. Not sure if it will be too rich for my skin. Seem to be breaking out after Christmas.

FreeButtonBee · 02/01/2017 21:13

I managed to resist all cosmetic sale temptations today 😇 I did succumb to more loungewear Hmm but they were needed and very comfy

I have researched a dupe for my city swept and there is a Charles worthington one thT looks like an option and about 1/3 of the price!

purpleviolet1 · 02/01/2017 21:21

Massive congrats op!!!! I'm currently 27 weeks after two miscarriages in 2016 so can relate a little Grin

I'm not choosing products to finish but rather just trying to use up everything and anything. My skin fluctuates so I have a few cleansers for example and use them according to the 'feel' that day...

So I have just finished body shop seaweed moisturiser. Love this product and have opened a replacement.

Does it count that I finished my usual deodorant too? Lol

This thread is so motivating, it's helping me to focus and actively think about what I'm using!!

FunnyBunny01 · 02/01/2017 21:43

Congratulations Kwick , lovely news Smile

Another empty tonight, The Ordinary lactic acid 5%. Didn't think much of this, moving on to the 10% version I bought at the same time.

I have also made a list of my aims for January, loved seeeing everyone else's!

funny I am really intrigued by the ordinary... looking forward to your next review.

I have 3 unwanted hair products to my SIL yesterday - may as well if I am not going to use. I really need to start to declutter - I have joined a thread that is about getting a bag done a day - I have committed to a bag a week... will try and make a start today.

CantChoose I loved starting using up with rum and Bailey's Wink Sounds so tempting - I'm trying to be booze free in January...

FunnyBunny I love your list, the 🦄s in particular Wink

MotherofPearl · 03/01/2017 08:43

I was on thread 3 for a while but then fell off the wagon, especially with arrival of lovely Clarins Christmas loot! Will try to get back on here to keep me motivated with ploughing through the stash.
Kwick, delighted to see your news! Very exciting; congratulations! Grin

kwick · 03/01/2017 09:19

Welcome back mother and thank you!!!

Morning all. It's so cold!

A small empty over here. I had a sachet of the Kiehls hydro plumping retexturising serum concentrate. this gave me 4 days of use and was a lovely juicy serum, which I prefer.

I am getting low on a number of full size products so will hopefully be able to add a few more to he thread in the next week or so.

Have a good day everyone.

FiveShelties · 03/01/2017 18:04

Two items finished, one only a sample though. Nivea Eye Make Up Remover gone, which I liked but did not effectively move waterproof mascara. I have seen another one by Nivea which says it is for waterproof so will try that one next. The sample was Revlon Foundation - have a No 7 to open so no need to buy anymore.

CantChoose · 03/01/2017 18:33

Hope I didn't make you fall off the wagon, frugal...
I like the satifsfaction of finishing anything, not just beauty things, so I'm getting to work on the odds and ends in the booze cupboard too!
My DH will hate it, he hates finishing anything unless we have an identical replacement in stock. We aren't at all compatible :/
I finished my dragon's blood serum today, I quite liked it but I have a filorga thing to use instead now. Another sample so shouldn't take too long though you seem to only need a tiny bit.

FrustratedFrugal · 03/01/2017 19:59

You haven't CantChoose - Day 3 dry! - but I can immediately see how immensely satisfying although possibly disastrous for the liver it would be to get rid of extra bottles in the liquor cupboard. Some other month...

Weird week, a weird start to 2017. MIL's boyfriend died unexpectedly on Jan 1. My mother was hospitalized today with very mild stroke symptoms - I helped father to sort out the logistics of it over phone while DC were playing outside and I was cooking. She is getting the best care and asked us not to make a fuss but how very unsettling.

ememem84 · 03/01/2017 20:09

frugal omg sorry to hear that! Hope you're doing ok x x

No empties here tan moisturiser still going strong

kwick · 03/01/2017 20:13

frugal sending love and imaginary bold lips along northern lights to you. So tough especially if in another county. Flowers and no alcohol either. Thinking of you.

Hi mother
I'm make up free today as sporting an eye patch due to sore eye. Look like a right lemon so not leaving house. Wearing some red lipstick but otherwise bare face. I'm sure it'll be fine but stupidly sore and irritating.
Finally finished the last item on my xmas list so being inspired by your snazzy lists so will post valentines list soon.

DragonNoodleCake · 03/01/2017 23:14

Thinking of you frustrated. And you too kwick.
Back to work tomorrow and DH heads back to The Hague tomorrow evening for 8 days. Will miss him but cannot wait for the superking all to myself with no snoring!!

I am trying to be a bit less lazy and a bit more heathy this year so I plan to spend less evening time in front of TV and more time doing stuff. So over the next week I plan to sort the drawers/ boxes and cupboards of everything toiletry/makeupy etc. Make a list of what is to use and chuck the old crap. I'm hoping it will be cathartic, fresh and I might find goodies I forgot about! I just need to figure out how I get DD1 to do this as well, there must be Kilos of makeup in her room

dogdaydisaster · 04/01/2017 09:44

Morning everyone

Frustrated, sorry to hear of your troubles, hope your mum is OK.

Three empties this morning, which was satisfying:

  • a 30 ml mini of teh Molton brown Orange and Bergamot shower gel -smelled nice
-Ahava Softening butter salt scrub -this was a very gentle scrub, not scrubby enough for me sadly -and a bottle of Salon Science shampoo. I havent yet found a wow shampoo so as with all others this was nice enough.

Happy Wednesday everyone.

FiveShelties · 04/01/2017 11:34

frugal sorry to read about your MIL's boyfriend and hope your Mum is soon feeling well.

mowglik · 04/01/2017 14:08

Thanks for the warm wishes everyone! It has been a long 24+ hours. It looks like my mum had a small stroke or a small brain hemorrhage, they are not sure yet which one, and she will stay in the hospital for a couple of days so that they can do more tests. The hardest part is not being able to do anything, she asked us not to visit her today. Thank god I can go there tomorrow!
