I seriously need some inspiration for my winter wardrobe!

My best recent purchase is this dress from topshop (even though I'm probably too old to be shopping there!). Its very flattering on my short, pear-shaped figure and looks great with black tights and boots. Great for any occasion.

BF outfit sounds excellent yvaine wish it was me

I could see cons looking good with them alright Remus. I suppose a wintry version might be addidas all stars.

Am v torn currently between buying black nikes or white-with-black-stripes all stars...

RemusLupinsBiggestGroupie · 20/10/2016 21:10

Converse definitely seem to last longer than Nikes ime, if that makes any difference!

YvaineStormhold · 20/10/2016 21:20

I love the colour of that Seasalt jacket.

Taranta · 20/10/2016 21:37

I bought this gorgeous jumper from Hush, it's every bit as cosy and soft as it looks and the colours are fab.

Florathefern · 20/10/2016 21:37

Thanks Laska. I tried it with an oversized grey jumper and i thought that looked the best. The bottom of the jumper was slightly elasticated. My problem was I don't have many of that type of jumper and didn't want to have to buy jumpers especially for it as I really wanted the skirt as an everyday alternative to jeans. I even went to Cos to look at the grey oversized cape jumper but didn't like it much. I have an oversized navy knit hoody that looked ok but not brilliant with it. Maybe my shape is wrong for it :-(

neveradullmoment99 · 20/10/2016 21:39

Its interesting what you are saying about the Hush marina skirt. I love the black one but cant picture myself in it especially on the shoe front. I fear it would look frumpy with normal boots, shoes. I think its the length. Its neather long or short.

Oneiroi · 20/10/2016 22:04

It's a pale indigo colour Yvaine, really pretty and lovely soft velvet moleskin material.

Pandaponda · 20/10/2016 22:15

This sky blue velvet jacket from Mango. There's nothing panda about it.

The boots I have are like this style although not these actual boots - mine are black leather and came from Jones a couple of years ago and have ' brogue' hole type pattern on the toe,

Ive also tried them on with these loafers TBH , although , it may look a bit 'frumpy' , I like the look of them with the Marina skirt and navy opapues (i am 5'6 btw, so not that tall)

Laska5772 · 20/10/2016 22:17

Thats a lovely jacket Panda Smile

I bought these and I love them more than I can say. So comfy and warm and very light weight.

Florathefern · 20/10/2016 22:29

I am 5ft 2 and the skirt was a good length on me - midi length I guess.

I think my returning it was partly due to trying on this skirt www.cosstores.com/ie/Women/Skirts/Skirt_with_gathered_waistband/7086-53079772.1#c-22755 and I really liked it.except it wasn't lined (as usual it is nicer irl than the Cos website). I think I may buy it as I can achieve the same vibe as the marina but I think it was more versatile.

I really like the Gabor loafers and I have a similar pair of the black boots linked although mine are leather and a few years old.

MotherofA · 20/10/2016 22:31

Yvaine how do you rate the quality of the selfish mama sweatshirt and is sizing accurate ? I'm desperate for one especially as I'm pregnant and have limited clothing !

Just bought some Grenson leather black boots with white chunky sole . Expensive but worth it hand made in England and they look and feel out of this world !

SpeckledyBanana · 20/10/2016 22:34

I got a Hush Tara in burgundy and I am very pleased. I'd now like ine in green.

YvaineStormhold · 21/10/2016 05:51

MotherofA

It's excellent quality, but I'd say the sizing was a little on the small side. I'm a size 14, so I got Large, and it fits without being all that slouchy.

BTW, I got the name wrong - it's Selfish Mother, not Mama. Just in case you were planning to google it Smile

Notmuchtosay1 · 21/10/2016 08:22

I've enjoyed looking at what you are all wearing. I have bought a pair of short clarkes boots for this winter. I had a new coat for Christmas last year and I bought another in the Next sale in the spring, so not worn it yet. Other than that I have no money to spend on clothes for myself this winter. 😩 But with my new coats and boots that doesn't matter. No one can see what is underneath on the school run anyway 😀

I bought this tiger jumper in H & M for £14.99 yesterday and it's lovely. To be fair, its appeal will wane I'm sure, but for now, I love it www2.hm.com/en_gb/productpage.0437451001.html

Whattodowithaminute · 21/10/2016 18:47

I received a Canada goose Victoria parka today, happy lady.

Dancergirl · 21/10/2016 19:16

I'm always tempted by Hush dresses but they all seem to be fitted on the bottom half and a big baggy top half. This wouldn't work for an inverted triangle like me would it?

Love their ruched skirt though.

wiltingfast · 21/10/2016 21:45

Jeez, have just learned kenzo are doing a collab with H&M Shock

Collection is mad

I love it Grin

look-book here you might want your sunnies Grin

Florathefern · 21/10/2016 23:11

I love it and equally envy the lifestyle that people can wear it and afford it.

MotherofA · 21/10/2016 23:57

Thanks yvaine I'm normally a big 10 but pregnant so might go for the large also ! Ah thanks I didn't even notice that about the name .
Not much I agree with your theory about the school run ! A nice coat and boots ate all you need ! Actually read this somewhere . Smile

wiltingfast · 22/10/2016 09:02

I don't think it's too bad, if you really want a piece of it? The t shirts are £24.99, that is probably the cheapest admittedly. I suspect getting your hands on any of it will actually be the hard part...

RemusLupinsBiggestGroupie · 22/10/2016 14:23

I tried on four things in Hush today, and didn't like any of them enough to buy. I'm looking for just a plain black jersey dress, with sleeves, but none of theirs worked on me. Also tried on the Ampersand t-shirt, but thought the quality was dreadful. It honestly felt/looked like something from Primark.
