Yay! I'm flipping gasping for a drink, after emotionally trying day, but DP has yet to come home with it. I am avidly tracking his progress on 'find my friends'.

motherinferior · 14/10/2016 21:22

Evening all

CointreauVersial · 14/10/2016 21:30

Good work on the new thread, Beachy! No, we're not on holiday, just two INSET days (the school do a double every October, either side of the Open Evening. Handy if you want a relatively quiet visit to a theme park).

Talking of which, I'm off to do battle with the Thorpe Park Pick Up Zone (always mayhem).....expecting a few sleepers on the way home.

MrsSchadenfreude · 14/10/2016 21:47

I have one on half term this week coming and one the week after .

Cremolafoam · 14/10/2016 22:35

Hello there, I am home. I Am curled up on the sofa, dp has lighted the fire, I have a cat and a cup of tea.
I think the best thing would just be to behave as if the last few days never happened. It's been horrendous. I have only given you the edited highlights.
I shall never speak of it again.

So, yes I can recommend counselling. I needed it very much after my dbro died and also to get through IVF. It doesn't have to be hard going either. I'd think if it more of a way of unravelling spiralling or stuck ways of thinking. Which for me has been useful. Thinking of you BD.

motherinferior · 14/10/2016 22:57

DP is pacing the house huffily because DD1 isn't back yet (friend is dropping her).

It is at times like this that I feel there is a gulf between our experiences and expectations of teenagehood. My dad used to pick me up ludicrously early but I suspect DP never went out at all. Well, he couldn't, as he was at boarding school. But he was the sort of person who wouldn't have anyway.

MrsSchadenfreude · 15/10/2016 00:11

MI - yep, DH was the same as your DP in his yoof. Until he went to university and discovered alcohol, wimmin and drugs. He's now reverted to his pre-university self.

CointreauVersial · 15/10/2016 00:59

Pickup at Thorpe Park turned into a two hour marathon - queues everywhere and M25 down to one lane. All six girls asleep by the time we got back, but have now revived with popcorn and Netflix.

Good to hear you made it home in one piece, Crem.

Lalsy · 15/10/2016 06:05

Welcome back, Crem. You poor, poor thing. Speak of it if you wish - and sincerely hope you can spend today on sofa?

MI, that's interesting. dh and I I have similar expectations I think and he usually delegates the late night worrying to me. Maybe this means in a couple of years it will be your dh propping his eyes open at 2am? Smile

Up early doors to wave ds off on a trip.

Checking in. Lovely meal but god did I pay for it last night.....

motherinferior · 15/10/2016 08:29

I am on first leg of convoluted trip to Norwich. Starting off on a Newcastle-bound train (changing at Peterborough). Argh.

bigTillyMint · 15/10/2016 09:11

Morning non-clown-like Crepesters!

Glad you are home Cremo and hope you are relaxing and being pampered. It is a job done - well done to youFlowers

Lovely day here atm - having driven through leafy village to drop DD to coaching - will be lovely for your memorial walk/lunch Addle.

DS was in a terrible state when I got in after work yesterdaySad but went out with mates last night (first time in months) as we have been advised that he should not be playing footy at least for the time being. He has no energy at all, but being with his mates should be good for his soul, I hope, as they are concerned about him.
We just went to bed, exhausted, MI - DD confirmed he came in about 11.30.

Weather forecast seems to have improved for Sunday afternoon, Lalsy, Addle, and anyone else, but don't feel you have to - don't worry if you are busy Smile

magimedi · 15/10/2016 09:15

Checking in!

Crem I hope you have a really restful w/e - you need it.

BTM Pleased that DS got out with his mates - am sure it will do him good.

My wretched cold still lingers - lots of coughing at night & slightly blocked ears which is affecting my balance a bit - if not better by next week will go to the doctor - 4 weeks now. Sad

Oh BTM, how difficult. Let's save woods for when no rain, shall we - how about 2ish at main gate of BP tomorrow - Addle, anyone else, that suit?

Rudy, glad your ds went out. I have yet t stay awake till end fof GBBO. I do love it, but it is too soothing.

MM, what a stinker. I had one like that a couple of years ago. Really hideous.

hattymattie · 15/10/2016 09:46

Hello Crepeys - Grin at thread title Beachy.

I typed a long post yesterday on the old thread and then it said thread closed - they really need to tell us this before we type, especially as it was on my phone.

MM - sorry you're not better - it's horrible when you can't shake a cold.

I don't seem to be ill but cannot seem to get through half a day without feeling bone tired - not sure if this is an undercover virus or the menopause.

MI - I think there is a Starbucks on the platform at Peterborough as a compensation for having to change there.

Crem - welcome home - and relax xx

Herbs - sounded like a horrible day yesterday, offset by your DDad's lovely remarks.

BTM - very bad glandular fever saps the energy like that, although I'm sure they've tested for that.

Here, our friends from London are over for the weekend so off for a drink and a catch up. Really looking forward to it.

Received an order of two jumpers from Boden which I thought were going to see me through the winter and neither fit - back they go.

Blackduck · 15/10/2016 09:52

Too much rich food Rudy so very little sleep. Feel distinctly unwell today.
Plus seething at dp who didn't even call to commiserate when I mailed to say I didn't get the job (ds did that) and who has just given one word answers when I called this morning.... afraid I put the phone down on him.

BTM that is good news re ds - I guess feeling flaky and not being able to do football is very tough when you are a physical energetic type....
Rudy good on your ds too...

MI much strength. I'm on leg three of my journey home.

motherinferior · 15/10/2016 10:19

BD, what is it with these wretched blokes? DP late back again with the T'ai Chi Emergency. Admittedly it has its hassle, which I won't share here, but how in hell's name does a seemingly competent adult have a TCE in the first place???

motherinferior · 15/10/2016 10:19

Last bit of journey. Football fans next to me drinking beer. Feel a hot flush coming on.

Blackduck · 15/10/2016 10:28

Yes I am surrounded by very loud football fans too - I know more than enough about the premiership than I feel the need.....

Blackduck · 15/10/2016 10:29

And they are very sweary and there's a small child...
