Would that be OK?

Must try to avoid a thread switch on a Friday night Grin

Oh, BTM, I am glad they are acting decisively, and he will get the proper care. But you poor loves Flowers. Light clothes as hospitals are hot? dvds if he has a laptop t watch them on? Graphic novels or similar (thinking of my ds). Wishing him all the best - hope this is a turning point.

And WAF, Flowers for you too. What a long haul. Take care.

I agree about the divine message, Crem.

In trivial S and B corner, yes I do like those Herbs but they look awful on me, wish they didn't. I like that coat, Hatty. And congratulations!

MontserratCaballe · 18/10/2016 19:31

BTM, sorry to hear that a hospital stay is in order but am glad that he will get the care he needs. Hattie's list is great - I would just add a really nice pillow as the hospital ones can be a bit rubbish. Thinking of you all xxx

Crem, new bed stuff sounds ace. I have had this mattress for about 15y so might follow suit. New bedding is also the best. The smell! The softness! Sounds glorious.

WAF, so sorry Dh is so low and your mum, too. A lot for you to carry. Sending you a huge hug. Thanks for asking about Dh. He was made redundant in August and the freelance work is a bit sporadic alas. You going to the meeting at school on Thursday?

Lalsy, I am not good at coats as I wear a holey Barbour a lot of the time. Like some of the ones suggested.

Well done, Hatty. Will you have dual nationality or will you have to become a fully fledged Francaise?

BD, how are you this week? How is the job going? And Stropps, hope things are under control your end.

Rose, glad you are getting some time in the flat. Will you have all the troops with you or can you have some time alone?

Right, time to get kids into bed. Only 2 more work days for me but tomorrow I am ok til 9.15. Just the 14h day then. Hm.

Ps have been slack arsed re 26th Nov - sorry -?but will crack on now....

bigTillyMint · 18/10/2016 19:51

Thanks Hatty! And well done on the French! Will get him to at least pack those things - not sure when we are going to get the call, just hope it's early rather than later. He is worried about lack of wifi!

WBC count is slightly up, but HR is worryingly low (resting rate was 40 a year ago, so he is ultra-fit, but even so, it's too low) so in-patient to get overall treatment which will hopefully result in HR improving.

Phone hasn't stopped pinging/ringing, including his (and DD's old) very lovely HofKS who wants to visit himSmile

WAF, sympathies for you and your DH (and DM), and yours Monty.

Cremo, I bet you are exhausted and it has just hit you - I remember feeling completely felled by rather over-ambitious house clearing.

MrsSchadenfreude · 18/10/2016 20:28

Crem, you are my hovel twin for exactly the same reasons. I live in Shitholes R Us. I am refusing to spend any of my savings on it, he should dip into his as I have spent a large chunk of mine on school fees.

BTM, good move re hospital, I think. When I was in, I hated wearing night clothes so wore T shirts and tracky bottoms instead.

Have had day from hell at work, tomorrow will be worse, and got stuck in the lift tonight. Thought Nice Young Man who works for me was going to cry this evening - we are so short staffed and there are really not enough hours in the day. Told him to go home and we would have another go at the paper we are working on in the morning.

DH and I had a huge row the other night - the sort that it is very difficult to move on from. So not really sure what happens next. Currently tiptoeing around each other and avoiding.

wordassociationfootball · 18/10/2016 20:54

Hattie and Monty towel and pillow, what truth you speak.

Sorry about row Mrs S.

GiddyGiddyGoat · 18/10/2016 21:49

Goodness BTM, how are you in all this? Sending you all good wishes and hoping ds is well looked after and able to rest and recover. X

addle · 19/10/2016 06:47

BTM, thinking of you and DS, and sending you lots of good thoughts. Glad he'll be properly looked after

Hattie , congratulations

Mrs S, sorry about all the horrible stuff going on

Blackduck · 19/10/2016 07:07

MrsS sorry about work and row.

MC and WAF sorry re DHs and various issues.

Here I am finding hound hard work - he's a puppy in a large dogs body..... he's lovely but so excitable - and to be honest at the minute I'm not in a great place and finding it really hard to handle. In a way he reminds me of all I've lost.
BTM messaged you - hope all goes well.

Still waiting for a bed - apparently he is first on the list when one becomes available. Fingers crossed that is soon!

motherinferior · 19/10/2016 11:04

Major crossing here.

Collymollypuff · 19/10/2016 12:17

Fingers crossed for you and ds, BTM. At least you have got things moving fast - well done, you. Thanks Thinking of other Crepey dss too.

wordassociationfootball · 19/10/2016 12:21

Also crossed for DS BTM.

Thanks Rudy, and others. I think my last post sounded more self-pitying than it should have. It's more the sadness of knowing what's going on in their heads and that they can't support themselves, and in DH's case, the dc. That's the thing, the kids. Also, and sorry if I've blithered this already, he can't talk about holiday plans, which would be a lovely light at the end of the tunnel. MIL just rang to talk about the dd's. She's not a big talker but I'd written to her recently, just about how the dd's are doing at school. I told her DH was down and not working much, because he never tells them anything like that and I know she'll be discreet but he would not be happy about this.

Aarrgh. I want to go down the front at a great happy punky gig and jump up and down. But instead I shall go to Fat Burn at the gym (via the post office).

Lalsy · 19/10/2016 13:20

Not remotely self-pitying, WAF. It is sad and the effects on families are perhaps not spoken enough about, in general. You are carrying a lot.

Crossing everything here too, BTM - as much as possible after two (2,ii) very short gym classes.

BeachysSandyFlipFlops · 19/10/2016 14:00

Thanks, Rudy, yes ds is doing better at the moment. I'm not looking forward to half term, as the lack of structure can sometimes be a problem. I have no idea about Beachy Head versus Birling Gap - I think I've only been there once. I think it's about two hours away from me.

I agree WAF, the effect on everyone else is hideous, even just the things that you can't talk about 'in case'. It's very, very tiring.....and you are right to have gym and us as outlets.

motherinferior · 19/10/2016 14:32

WAF, I am investigating local Pilates options too. I don't weigh any more but I am hugely self-conscious about my wobbly spare tyre.

magimedi · 19/10/2016 14:36

Still plauged by this vertigo - just been prescribed something different so hope it works.

Hatty Well done - you & DH are in a race to change race Grin

Rudy Beachy Head & Birling Gap are within a mile of each other - easy to park at one & walk to t'other. But mind the edge - very friable cliffs atm.

wordassociationfootball · 19/10/2016 14:44

Thank you Beachy. Snap. Snap snappity snap.

Had no probs hurling medicine balls - wish you could still do circuits, Stropps.

Rudy - Birling Gap is fab, although at 3 years old Dd2 announced the 'beach' 'rubbish.' It's the rocky kind. For years Amy potential beach was created with 'Not like Berlin gap, is it?'. You'll love it.

Rosebag · 19/10/2016 14:58

Oh good gracious...so much tough stuff in this thread. tilly I do hope a bed is available for DS soon so that his treatment can begin in earnest. Glad there is a small improvement in his WBC. Flowers
waf also hugs to you and wishing you strength. Good to let MIL know, I think. I do hope DH starts to improve in the foreseeable.
Magi I understand labyrinthitis is quite vile. You poor thing but you have the right treatment. I guess it's just time.
Also Flowers MrsS that sounded like the shitty day to end all shitty days. Has it cleared the air at all?
monty Flowers for you too, my love.

How is everyone else?

I have a quieter couple of days now ( arse that I am...I booked this week off teaching but naturally half terms next week. ) but will have a few days at the flat from Friday. Hoping to see beachy ...always a lovely thing to look forward to.

In other news I have been contacted by the newly appointed (paid) manager of annoying trustee organisation who wants to build bridges. I have ageeed to meet her because she's buying the tea and cake Hmm but I will not, repeat NOT be sucked back into unpaid slave labour. Not for all the tea in china.

Rosebag · 19/10/2016 15:13

One bit of trivial but nice news...Me and BFF have just got tix to see this bunch of lovelies

bigTillyMint · 19/10/2016 16:11

Now in hosp waiting for the bed to be ready!

Lalsy, I'm impressed!

I've never been to Beachy Head or Birling Gap!

GiddyGiddyGoat · 19/10/2016 16:18

Do you think he's relieved to be there BTM? Hope all goes smoothly. Thinking of you - and all with worries and woes.

My Mum is back in hospital with a UTI. Waiting for my brother to update me about how she is...

bigTillyMint · 19/10/2016 16:21

Yes GGG, but is currently a bit fed up of waiting!
Sorry to hear your DM has a UTI again - very tricky situation for you.
