I apologise for posting a link to a bitchy DM article, but it's a slow work day. And they must be freezing!

Yes Lemonade

I'm glad some of you have had a wonderful time body shaming people. Hmm

Laidupwithabrokenleg · 07/04/2016 20:55

The Daily Mail does this story every year. Perhaps some women have made dodgy fashion choices, but all look happy and enjoying their out and don't deserve to be ridiculed.

Laidupwithabrokenleg · 07/04/2016 20:56

Meant to say their day out!

RudeElf · 07/04/2016 21:01

At some point you're going to have to accept I have a different opinion to you

Oh i have no issue recognising that (your opinions are horrific to me i am certainly in no doubt that they are different to mine) i am saying that your opinions are not fact and your personal taste is not 'the standard' by which anyone else should dress.

TheMildManneredMilitant · 07/04/2016 21:11

It also smacks of that sort of 'they think they look so good lets take them down a peg or two' attitude. Its bad enough when it is celebrities, but a bunch of women on a fun day out don't deserve to be picked apart by a load of snobs. I really hope they don't give a shit.

Twinklestein · 07/04/2016 21:13

i am saying that your opinions are not fact and your personal taste is not 'the standard' by which anyone else should dress.

Why d'you keep saying this? Clearly it's my opinion. One shared by many others - I'm hardly a lone voice in the wildnerness.

As horrific as my opinion may be to you, that's how horrific I find the way some of those women are dressed - I actually find it offensive.

RudeElf · 07/04/2016 21:14

I particularly loved Hmm the comment saying the woman looked unhappy about her choice of tight fitting outfit. More likely her face was miserable because she was freezing, there was a bloody camera shoved in her face and she'd not won a penny.

RudeElf · 07/04/2016 21:15

Grin you really are a treat. You find other women's clothing offensive? Yeah, okay.

AgathaMystery · 07/04/2016 21:19

Some really humiliating, upsetting pics for the women at Aintree today. I don't know why it's okay to publish pictures of women's skirts blowing up... It's so unkind & almost harassment.

We go racing most weeks of the season (national hunt & flat) & the dress codes vary wildly for both (tweed Vs smart) & it depends what enclosure you are in... But I can't work out where or what most of those frocks were suitable for. Racing is a fucking freezing pastime 90% of the year.

lemonade30 · 07/04/2016 21:22

You actually find it offensive

that made me giggle Smile

(But if it's true, you need to get a life)

Thornrose · 07/04/2016 21:24

This goes hand in hand with the fashion 101 thread in Style and Beauty. Lots of the pet hates expressed there are highlighted in the DM article.

Maybe they've been reading and think that MNers love slagging off women's outfits, bodies, fake tans, tattoos etc.

Yet MN on the whole hate the DM! Confused

Twinklestein · 07/04/2016 21:25

I have a life, I think some people just need to get some taste. Wink

lemonade30 · 07/04/2016 21:30

Lest you take time out of your busy schedule to become sufficiently offended to denigrate them?

Ok then Hmm

mrsjskelton · 07/04/2016 21:33

No. Just no.

mrsjskelton · 07/04/2016 21:34

I'm getting so snobby about the races. I feels feel like when a dress code is implemented, those not following it should be turned away. Utter chav fest.

RudeElf · 07/04/2016 21:35

Ooh do you get the warm an' fuzzies when you get to have a good snobby judge sesh?

LikeASoulWithoutAMind · 07/04/2016 21:36

I bloody hate the DM coverage of Aintree.

It's snobby and misogynistic. Utterly shameful. As is this thread.

Thornrose · 07/04/2016 21:37

DM hating MN using photos from the DM to make their point. Confused

lemonade30 · 07/04/2016 21:37

Those girls look to be barely out of school.

I'll leave that thought with you.

Awks · 07/04/2016 21:39

OMG Grin

vindscreenviper · 07/04/2016 21:44

Some people on this thread are as bad as the misogynistic cunts churning this shit out for the Mail.
Let's have a look at you then, go on, I bet you look ordinary stylish as fuck.

mrsjskelton · 07/04/2016 21:44

Hell yes!

RudeElf · 07/04/2016 21:46

How did that horse get my knickers on his head? Grin

RudeElf · 07/04/2016 21:48

Good for you mrsjskelton have to get your kicks somewhere eh? Suppose judging women on their appearance is about the easiest way.

BabyGanoush · 07/04/2016 21:57

I love seeing the pics, I love seeing people go all out, I'd never have the guts to dress like that...

I'd hate being in the paper with unflattering pic though.

The comments are all soooo mean

It's almost like bullying.
