I apologise for posting a link to a bitchy DM article, but it's a slow work day. And they must be freezing!

£45,000 worth of prizes for the winner of Ladies Day tomorrow. Nice little windfall for whoever nabs that!

squoosh · 07/04/2016 16:56

That's about the size of it Dixie.

Potterwolfie · 07/04/2016 17:07

I was referring to the weather, re the corned beef comment, I live up north and it's absolutely freezing today and fake tan isn't going to keep them warm!

Going out in anything less than a winter coat brings on the mottled-purple look, so I can't imagine how these ladies feel with no tights or layers.

lemonade30 · 07/04/2016 17:14

To be fair I doubt they give a shiny shite what any of us think.

They all seem to be having a good time which is surely the point of attending Aintree.

Doobigetta · 07/04/2016 18:23

Really unfair of the DM to print photos of mortified-looking women desperately trying to hold skirts down in the wind. That isn't fashion commentary, it's being a pervy misogynistic wanker.

Philoslothy · 07/04/2016 18:26

I love seeing women in bold flamboyant clothes having a good time.

Muskey · 07/04/2016 18:28

Spam legs very attractive (not)

MizK · 07/04/2016 18:31

Oh fuck off. I read that earlier and thought it was the nastiest article I've read in a while. Just posted about it elsewhere actually.

Why would you link to that? It's making fun of people's weight, outfits and generally making fun of normal women out having a laugh. It's bullshit.

I'm not above bitchiness or eye rolling but this is just horrible and I bet that some of the women feel like shit after being mocked in the national press.

Philoslothy · 07/04/2016 18:31

Today 16:21 WellErrr

Hate DM but racing is getting so chavvy. It's sad

How exactly are we making your experience of racing sad?

oldlaundbooth · 07/04/2016 18:42

Even if the DM was purposefully only photographing fashion errors there's a serious amount of them.

It's the races FFS!

Outside!

It's April!

In Liverpool!

They should be in tweed really, they'd look great!

I'm also surprised too at the size of some of the women.

Twinklestein · 07/04/2016 18:42

I don't think these women are 'normal' in the sense of being representative. It's not normal to go out in a summer mini dress in April.

I dislike the DM and Aintree equally.

JamNan · 07/04/2016 18:44

Lordy, Grumpy I just wasted 40 minutes of my life having a laugh at this and DH came and looked over my shoulder and had a giggle too.

It looked blardy freezing cold. I just don't get it. Most of the women looked like they had dressed for a 1980s dinner party and not a race course scheduled for a freezing cold day in April. Awful and totally wrongly-dressed for the season. WHY?

does this not make me sound like a snob?

RudeElf · 07/04/2016 18:45

ONE comment about a man's appearance. One. Out of almost 200 photos. Angry

oldlaundbooth · 07/04/2016 18:46

I agree, JamNan. They look bloody terrible.

oldlaundbooth · 07/04/2016 18:51

It's not just that these women are dressed badly, but a lot of them look so rough!

Bad diet written all over their faces.

Twinklestein · 07/04/2016 18:51

ONE comment about a man's appearance. One. Out of almost 200 photos

The DM isn't famed for its hatred of men.

But the fact is, if a large number of large women did not go to Aintree dressed like cheap hookers, the DM would have nothing to bitch about.

TheMildManneredMilitant · 07/04/2016 19:00

Some really bitchy comments here. I love to see people having fun with clothes and making an effort, regardless of their size or whether I share their taste.

Kummerspeck · 07/04/2016 19:05

The Daily Fail is a misogynistic, snobbish newspaper and some posters on this thread are not far behind in the nastiness stakes.

I have been to Aintree several times, often on days featured in the Mail, and have never seen many women dressed like those in their articles, they work hard at finding the worst possible pictures. In my experience women in Liverpool love to dress up and most of them do it very well. This meeting is generally great fun, vibrant and a fab day out so maybe people should try it before sniping

TSSDNCOP · 07/04/2016 19:12

The most glamorous are the ladies wearing jackets or coats. It was clearly freezing and very windy. "Just the weather for me strapless bridesmaid dress" thought no one ever outside Aintree.

I was as usual not disappointed by the attire of Our Queen Collen who has definitely had a little dip in the Botox pond by the looks of it.

TSSDNCOP · 07/04/2016 19:16

And you can have as many Channel advisors as there are runners and riders, if you get Crabbies to sponsor an event you set the bar right there.

TSSDNCOP · 07/04/2016 19:17

Chanel ffs. Clearly haven't got Collens autocorrect 😃

Philoslothy · 07/04/2016 19:19

We go to Aintree most years, I am known for my bright clothes, high heels and fake tan. That does not mean that I should be compared to a prostitute or that my presence ruins the day for others.

lasttimeround · 07/04/2016 19:25

Wow so nasty can't believe even the DM prints mean spirited tripe like that

JoanWatsonsWardrobe · 07/04/2016 19:27

Dislike races and wouldn't go myself.

Misogynistic crap. Nothing wrong with women getting dressed up and enjoying themselves. I'm not clicking on the daily fail link.

RudeElf · 07/04/2016 19:33

But the fact is, if a large number of large women did not go to Aintree dressed like cheap hookers, the DM would have nothing to bitch about.

Hmm

Bollocks. The DM will always find a way to humiliate women.

Btw do you know many prostitutes? Or have you just seen pretty woman a few too many times?
