I think these boots are super. DH thinks they are lame. Who is right?

these

His fairly valid point is that I already own glittery copper boots. But these are SILVER!!!

To clarify: I would want to wear them to work, with trousers or dresses, and with jeans at the weekend. I'm not a particularly conservative dresser, tend to just buy (occasionally odd) things I like, then throw them together. But then DH is not a style icon either!

In my head they will go with everything. Will they?

Hmmmm. I'm not quite sure.

I'm partial to a metallic boot but this one looks slightly...apologetic as though it's saying 'I'm wild, but don't worry I'm not too wild. I'm still a sensible Clarks shoe'.

PitPatKitKat · 01/02/2016 16:11

Lame or lamé darling?

SfaOkaySuperFurryAnimals · 01/02/2016 16:11

Lovely

IHaveBrilloHair · 01/02/2016 16:12

Eek, a bit erm Mum boot for me, sorry.

Orangeanddemons · 01/02/2016 16:13

They look like some sort of medical orthopaedic footwear , and I like a shiny piece of footwear.

amitha · 01/02/2016 16:14

I think they're a bit too Clarks, I love frumpy clumpy shoes but these look a bit grannyish- in a bad way.

Philoslothy · 01/02/2016 16:14

I think they look awful

Fairylea · 01/02/2016 16:14

Not my thing at all...! Sorry. But if you like them go for it :) I don't like the style or the colour. They're a bit ziggy stardust !

momb · 01/02/2016 16:16

I like them, but I regularly wear Reiker shoes and therefore apparently my opinion is invalid.

I don't mind the idea of them but there's something 'off' with the execution.

Do you work as a Glam rock pirate?

LadyPriggsbottom · 01/02/2016 16:17

Not my Brew (cup of tea) either sorry. It's neither one think nor the other iykwim.

SagaAndMartinsLiftConvos · 01/02/2016 16:18

Nope.

Nospringflower · 01/02/2016 16:19

No from me.

IHeartKingThistle · 01/02/2016 16:19

I teach for Family Learning so can get away with a bit of odd. No pirating involved though.

I am CONFUSED by your responses, people.

Your DH is right on this occasion.

My 70 year old auntie rocks some similar bright red ones though.

LadyPriggsbottom · 01/02/2016 16:20

I meant "Neither one thing nor the other". Typo.

OneofTHOSEWomen · 01/02/2016 16:20

Hmmm. Clarks shoes always look a bit uninspiring on thier website because they don't bother trying to style them on a model, this is mostly a good thing because the styling can be off putting just look at any Boden catalogue but sometimes you just can't tell until you see them in rl. I looked at these for ages a few weeks ago and just couldn't decide.

CheekyMaleekey · 01/02/2016 16:21

Granny trying to be a bit 'fun'. Awful.

VulcanWoman · 01/02/2016 16:21

No, I'm not too keen either, they're still expensive even with the sale price.

sweetheart · 01/02/2016 16:22

YUK! There should be a YUK smiley!

IHeartKingThistle · 01/02/2016 16:22

I am not as cool as this

Still love them. But I think you may be putting me off buying them. I will of course blame DH.

ImperialBlether · 01/02/2016 16:22

You'd look like the Tin Man! Or Gary Glitter. Take your pick.

IrritableBitchSyndrome · 01/02/2016 16:23

Not to my taste, I'm afraid.
