I'm not sure about them - i think the issue is the three horizontal straps.

But I do like the idea of silver boots. A lot. You need to dress funkily to pull them off but i'm sure there's the right pair out there.

cuntycowfacemonkey · 01/02/2016 16:42

I think mean comments about shoes yet to be purchased are fair game, once said shoes are purchased and on feet then it is obligatory to smile politely and nod enthusiastically whilst saying "hmmm, where'd ya get them"

As shoes not yet purchased I would be drawn towards saying they're fucking awful but as a poster with said shoes is now present on the thread I'll opt with "hmm, not my cup of tea but if you love them that's all that matters"(which of course it does)

cuntycowfacemonkey · 01/02/2016 16:44

I'm sure I saw the same boots in red at the garden center this morning

IHeartKingThistle · 01/02/2016 16:45

I just can't do Chelsea boots! Strange aversion to them. They are v shiny though.

Or what about silver brogues - i'm sure i've seen silver brogues around.

LonnyVonnyWilsonFrickett · 01/02/2016 16:47

Are you sure you can't do Chelsea boots? I have Clarks Chelsea boots in silver and I love them. They totally go with everything too. But they are a very clean and defined 'style' - I agree these ones are a bit sorry for themselves.

Branleuse · 01/02/2016 16:48

i didnt like them in the first link, but i think thye look quite cool in the second link.

FloatyFlo · 01/02/2016 16:48

I like the style but hate the shiny silver colour. It makes them look so cheap which they clearly are not

IHaveBrilloHair · 01/02/2016 16:51

The second pair look like they have been spray painted badly.

DameXanaduBramble · 01/02/2016 16:56

Su Pollard wants her boots back.

SignoraStronza · 01/02/2016 16:57

There are some lovely silver DM boots on ebay at the moment.

IHeartKingThistle · 01/02/2016 16:57

Oh man, Su Pollard is my yardstick to stop me going too far! How did you know?!

RonaldMcDonald · 01/02/2016 17:04

OP the original boots look like Hotter specials

you are waaay cooler than these

mathanxiety · 01/02/2016 17:06

Get yourself some shiny Docs if you like laceup styles.

MrsNoraCharles · 01/02/2016 17:19

Or some Sam Edelman if you want something less chunky than DMs?

MrsNoraCharles · 01/02/2016 17:22

Or if straps are your thing.

IrritableBitchSyndrome · 01/02/2016 17:30

I luuuurve Chelsea boots. If they were silver chelsea boots I'd be pining for them :) I can't put my finger on why I dislike them, I just do. Strongly. Doesn't mean they are bad boots, just OP and I have opposing tastes in footwear. OP is, of course, entitled to put anything she wishes on her feet, and I rejoice in her right to do so.

IrritableBitchSyndrome · 01/02/2016 17:32

Hm. Have just seen Clarks silver Chelsea boots and wish to retract previous comment. I love the round toe chunky heel Clarks Chelsea boot. Smile

IHeartKingThistle · 01/02/2016 17:56

Not Docs. I like Docs but I fear I would then have to start wearing novelty fleeces and get pink highlights.

Nora I really like that second pair.

Thumbs down from me...they look frumpy...

polyhymnia · 01/02/2016 18:12

Really don't like them for reasons others have said - think they're frumpy. I confess to being a general Clarks hater, though I know many people on here like them.

And I'm another whose not anti-metallic - in fact, like a bit of silver or pewter. (Am currently fancying the Ash Virgins in Piombo, a dull silvery colour).

polyhymnia · 01/02/2016 18:13

Who's, not whose!
