My lovely DD had all her hair cut off yesterday. She's been thinking about it for ages so it wasn't a mad impulse.
She took a cute picture of an Anne Hathaway pixie cut with her. She also had some colour as she wanted to be blonder. She's very upset with how it looks and thinks is it is very middle aged and not pixie! I think she looks gorgeous but agree that the cut and colour isn't brilliant. It's so short though that we don't know how to change it...Are there any hairdressers out there who could advise? Can the cut be rescued without taking loads more off?? Please please help, I was so proud of her for being brave and going for a change and she's so upset.

Beautiful! (The second one)

HollyJollyDillydolly · 19/01/2016 11:02

Oh wow such an improvement. Looks fab now.

Pigeonpost · 19/01/2016 17:57

Looks amazing!!! Lots of Mum Points for you :)

Mincedpie · 19/01/2016 19:06

How did she get on at school today, did her friends love it?

Eliza22 · 19/01/2016 19:57

Good grief. Poor girl.

Phone the hairdresser tomorrow, first thing. Don't go back. Go to a modern stylist/colourist and it WILL be sort-able. It's NEVER seen a pixie cut.

Floowho · 19/01/2016 20:10

You are a bit late Eliza22. All sorted yesterday.

JellyTotCat · 19/01/2016 20:57

How did your dd get on at school today op? I bet she had lots of admiring comments about her lovely new hair.

iciclewinter · 19/01/2016 21:13

The transformed hair is great!

flashheartscanoe · 19/01/2016 21:51

All good today. Everyone liked it, quite a few double takes because she looks very different. Lots of positive comments - from teachers too.

Someone said to me that we can learn from David Bowie for this type of thing. Some of his looks weren't the best but he wasn't boring!

Glad she had a good day and that the new hair got a good reaction.

Dowser · 20/01/2016 10:34

I'm confused . I've seen a brown one, a blondey one and then on page 15 another brown one. Which is the real DD Please?

DrE678 · 20/01/2016 10:39

The last one is the finished do- the brown one.

Eliza22 · 20/01/2016 10:49

Oh dear, sorry!

Just seen the revised "do". She looks amazing! So glad it got sorted.

Dowser · 20/01/2016 11:01

Ah right. Very nice. So much better.

Silverpinkswirls · 20/01/2016 11:01

Fabulous final haircut but tbh I wouldn't even attempt to try any other hairdresser than the one who saved your daughters hair at Toni and guy no matter how expensive it is. Think of all the stress and money you wasted till you found her.

MarthasHarbour · 20/01/2016 12:05

Could you go for the more junior stylists at the same Toni and Guy? At least then your 'saviour' hairdresser will be able to supervise even just in a consultation. Toni and Guy have a brilliant reputation.

So pleased your DD turned heads yesterday (for all the right reasons!) and brilliant analogy re David Bowie Smile

MadamCroquette · 20/01/2016 12:17

I think you can find a good hairdresser for short hair without having to pay loads. Mine is a local corner hairdresser and I pay £15, but she's brilliant and v experienced. One tip is to go for one who has short hair themselves in a modern style. In the past I've found long-haired hairdressers sometimes don't get it.

JellyTotCat · 20/01/2016 12:37

The first hairdresser shouldn't be let loose on poor unsuspecting customers.

rumbleinthrjungle · 20/01/2016 12:45

New cut is lovely!

Your dd is very lucky in her mum. Thanks

DrE678 · 20/01/2016 12:50

Hahaha Dr
It was worth reading the rest of the thread after the new cut just to read that. Grin

Something like this would be perfect and would also work with a dark colour. She won't need to lose much more hair to achieve it and it will grow out beautifully if she wants to go long again.
