My lovely DD had all her hair cut off yesterday. She's been thinking about it for ages so it wasn't a mad impulse.
She took a cute picture of an Anne Hathaway pixie cut with her. She also had some colour as she wanted to be blonder. She's very upset with how it looks and thinks is it is very middle aged and not pixie! I think she looks gorgeous but agree that the cut and colour isn't brilliant. It's so short though that we don't know how to change it...Are there any hairdressers out there who could advise? Can the cut be rescued without taking loads more off?? Please please help, I was so proud of her for being brave and going for a change and she's so upset.

Oh what a happy ending!

And short hair is actually really versatile, IMO. It grows quickly so you can tweak it to exactly how you want

Google Michelle Williams and for inspiration - she's had loads of short cuts - all great

ADishBestEatenCold · 18/01/2016 18:06

Her new hairstyle is fantastic, flashheart.

Before selecting yet another salon/stylist for the future, check with Toni and Guy whether they have a special price for quiet period walk-ins and whether that's available with all stylists (have seen this as low as £25, with T & G).

Also ask them for a price for maintenance trims (6 to 8 week mini-cuts) and again if that price is available with all stylists.

Love it! Hope your DD sees all these messages OP, she looks fab

Mouthfulofquiz · 18/01/2016 18:13

Wow! That's a million million times better!! Great hairstyle!

RufusTheReindeer · 18/01/2016 18:20

Fab haircut

(Similar to mine but i haven't got such beautiful thick hair)

You must both be delighted...what an incredible difference

Shelleymoon · 18/01/2016 18:27

Wow. Looks fab Smile

Sometimesithinkimbonkers · 18/01/2016 18:33

Looks AMAZING!!!!

itsbetterthanabox · 18/01/2016 18:42

It's an awesome style now! Love it. When the semi dye comes out I think platinum blonde would look great but that's just imo. The brown is lovely too, a great shade.

hazeyjane · 18/01/2016 18:50

That looks great, so glad. Colour is lovely, but also think blonde would be nice.

I agree about taking photos - lots of angles, to take for next cut.

I like Black and White wax best - in the mens toiletries, smells lovely, and to me feels less matt and gacky than the rest.

SpuriouserAndSpuriouser · 18/01/2016 19:01

So glad that your dd is happy with it now. It looks fab!

Mincedpie · 18/01/2016 19:06

Gorgeous, very cool and funky!

user7755 · 18/01/2016 19:07

DH has given his wise nod of approval and says 'yes, that's much better'

JackandDiane · 18/01/2016 19:10

why is your dh's opinion relevant?!

squoosh · 18/01/2016 19:12

Well why are any of our opinions relevant?

user7755 · 18/01/2016 19:16

Because I have been chatting to him about the thread and showed him the updated photo, he just made me laugh because he looked so wise when he answered.

Why is that post worthy of comment when we have all commented for 18 pages? Hmm

PotOfYoghurt · 18/01/2016 19:19

It looks amazing! Lovely colour as well.

Fizrim · 18/01/2016 19:24

wit woo, she looks fantastic! Well done mum, definitely worth a day off school IMO.

I would still complain to the duff hairdresser though (number 3) with pictures of her effort and the Toni and Guy one.

Gunting · 18/01/2016 19:50

Looks fab and like a completely different head of hair.

Getting a shite hair cut and a day off school to fix it is like a rite of passage. I think everyone has one of these stories!

wallywobbles · 18/01/2016 19:57

Christ on a bike. It looks like a chicken, poor kid. Hairdresser either had too much or not enough of something.

GingerNutRiskIt · 18/01/2016 19:59

It looks amazing now!!! Only just came on this post. The difference in the after photo! Wow! Glad it's managed to be fixed!

lurkingabit · 18/01/2016 20:10

Fantastic result! So cool.

Another sniffle-upagus here. I love a happy ending!

Shadow1986 · 18/01/2016 20:20

I saw this thread yesterday but had nothing helpful to input, but today I am so thrilled to see she's had her hair fixed (it looks amazing btw) - you are just the mum I want to be to my teenage daughter when the time comes!!

TSSDNCOP · 18/01/2016 20:29

What a difference. I'm so pleased Tony & Guy sorted it, as I said they do mine and my sisters super short crops. People stop me when I'm out and ask where I get it done. They've even taken photos. I know its usual on MN to cane them but IME they can do a short technical haircut briliantly.

Second the student nights, I've seen them in action often. Also they do vouchers so any friends or relies at a loss can get those.

Tigi bedhead is a good product to get the messy texture. Boots stock it.
