My lovely DD had all her hair cut off yesterday. She's been thinking about it for ages so it wasn't a mad impulse.
She took a cute picture of an Anne Hathaway pixie cut with her. She also had some colour as she wanted to be blonder. She's very upset with how it looks and thinks is it is very middle aged and not pixie! I think she looks gorgeous but agree that the cut and colour isn't brilliant. It's so short though that we don't know how to change it...Are there any hairdressers out there who could advise? Can the cut be rescued without taking loads more off?? Please please help, I was so proud of her for being brave and going for a change and she's so upset.

It looks fab. Huge improvement. Well done Toni and Guy person

IdentityRequest1 · 18/01/2016 16:36

Ace!Glad they did a colour too - it looks wicked. I hope you go back to the original salon, as you should at least get a partial refund.

ItsAllGoodMan · 18/01/2016 16:37

This thread is making me want to cut my hair really short too! So many nice cuts. Don't think it would work on curly hair though
So glad your daughter was able to get her hair fixed. I too had some hair disasters when I was younger and no one ever helped me stay off school to get it fixed :(

we went out for lunch too.

Looks fab and glad she is happy....as I bet you are!

timemaychangeme · 18/01/2016 16:37

Oh it's FAB! Perfect cut and colour :) You are indeed a lovely Mum. So glad dd is happy again. It looks the sort of do that Emma Watson/Anne Hathaway would have. And it's beautifully cut. Result!

FauxFox · 18/01/2016 16:38

Gorgeous! So pleased you got it sorted Smile

flashheartscanoe · 18/01/2016 16:39

DH loves it too. He said 'why didn't you do it like that in the first place! (he was joking)'

Now that looks fantastic!

Go back to the original hairdresser, when they're busy, point at your DD and say

"Now THAT'S how you do a pixie cut!"

wonderpants · 18/01/2016 16:40

Love it! What a cool gorgeous girl you have, and what an awesome Mum you are!
Love this moments on mumsnet!!

Palomb · 18/01/2016 16:41

I bet she is over the mood now Grin

Be gone Claire Balding!

1wokeuplikethis · 18/01/2016 16:42

Beautiful! Shame on the original hairdresser giving a young lass a menopausal wig.

This is stunning!

Bluebell20 · 18/01/2016 16:42

Oh my gosh, she looks absolutely gorgeous!

I am absolutely thrilled for her. And delighted they did a semi-permanent colour - it really suits her :)

MiniCooperLover · 18/01/2016 16:44

Ah lovely. In one haircut she's gone from middle aged back to young girl again! Good colour too .. That hairdresser is a keeper Smile

Hipotle · 18/01/2016 16:45

De lurking to say what a fab happy end to the story, she looks fantastic! I too had a disastrous first 'long to short' cut and can well imagine how your poor DD felt! Glad she feels happier now!

AlisonWunderland · 18/01/2016 16:47

No more George Michael !

emmaluvseeyore · 18/01/2016 16:48

I love it! Well done to the second hair dresser. And to you for letting her have the day off school to get it sorted.

DianaTrent · 18/01/2016 16:48

That's lovely. Really pleased for her!

flashheartscanoe · 18/01/2016 16:49

so...what have we learned. when going for the chop select the hairdresser carefully. The new one had opinions and said what would and woulnt work. She certainly wasn't messing about when it came to how short it needed to be. She wasnt prepared to follow a picture exactly and actually persuaded DD into the up bit at the front. The whole thing has cost me a fortune and we can't afford to get it cut regularly by the same woman so the hunt now begins for a decent and cheaper hairdresser!

Catpants123 · 18/01/2016 16:52

Waaaay cooler!

Sweetdreamsforall · 18/01/2016 16:53

Your dd will always remember you for this op. What a wonderful mum you are. Families like you make me feel happy :) this is how it should be.

JackandDiane · 18/01/2016 16:54

OP _ ask at Toni and Guy about D being a model for their student nights. I did it ( elsewhere) for colour and they are SO closely supervised its hard for them to go wrong
( and its very interesting!)
